I have visited the Coffee House several times over recent years but am afraid I have recently paid my last visit. The prices , I find are now too high and having paid £3.25 for a very small scone and butter think the value is poor . It’s a shame but a sign of the times !

I was passing by and dropped into the Bell for lunch. It is a nice, old timber-framed village pub with a welcoming atmosphere. My attention was drawn to the Over 55s lunch and I began with an excellent helping of fish and chips. I was feeling rather full after and the waitress offered to put my dessert of apple and blackberry crumble with custard into a doggie bag to take away with me. I ate it that evening and it was delicious. I had a pot of tea before I left. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Very impressed!

We had our first take away from here last night, it’s been on the list for a while! Each dish was delicious and all completely individually flavoured (I can especially recommend the Lamb Kapranga). Service was really swift and so courteous. Highly recommended! Thank you 🙏🏻 We will be back.

The Inn has undergone a thoughtless renovation of furniture and decor. The 2024 renovation had stocked the rooms with locally made furnishings from Simon Pearce and Pompanoosuc Mills. The current attempt at mid century modern is colorblind and insulting. The decorators failed to consider The College, installing Yale Blue headboards and bedding runners. The multicolored heads in the artwork over the couch are pandering to multi culturalism while failing to recognize that all of the heads are shaped like a patrician white man. It is embarrassing. There is one cute print of Kemeny’s car with a BADIC license plate, but the rest of it is decorated like a typical Homewood Suites now. The Inn itself remains otherwise lovely. The staff are kind and welcoming, the bed is comfortable despite its ugliness, and the location at Dartmouth College (Yhe Home of The Big GREEN - not BLUE!) remains perfect.

Ive popped in so many times to get cakes and pastries (never dissappointed). I was staying in Norwich for the night and popped in for dessert with my husband, we both had the snickers (plus a hot chocolate and a Latte), a work of art on a plate, the flavours were insanely good, the atmosphere in the evening is so nice. My husband who is not a dessert person said that it was the best dessert he had ever had. There is so much work that goes into producing something so beautiful - you really dont charge enough.

The pub has gone down hill, it's dirty and the atmosphere is non existent. The bar staff don't speak to you. The toilets don't look like they have been cleaned sinks have not been cleaned in months the lime scale is disgusting, fact the whole pub could do with a good clean. The outside is just as bad, the garden is a disgrace, there are weeds as tall as the windows , do they just not see them. There is a sand bag outside the back door that has split and people walk it in side the pub. The staff sit behind the bar on there phones all the time, what ever happened to customer service and making conversation.

Omg where to start , service is bespoke and happy to cater for individual needs, food was hot and well cooked, and good portions batter on sweet and sour chicken was light and no grease, pork in my dish was tender and plenty of it , rice was light and fluffy, price was very good, a very nice family run restaurant and I can't recommend highly enough.
