Tried warning the restaurant that their current chef is a thief, who is currently on the run down there. Didn’t want to listen. Oh well. Play with fire, get ya fingers burnt 🤷🏻♂️
Delicious! We have just been to a birthday party where they had a few Sinple treats, the chocolate brownie was just awesome, my husband had the cookie and was extremely happy with his choice. We have heard how good they were and now weve tasted we will definitely be going back for more.
Good food, good service, great coffee! Love this little place. Clean and well run. Plenty of seating and the team are polite and attentive. Oh, and the tuna melt is delicious 😋 😉
Great staff, food great, locals make you feel welcome, stayed on the camp site at the rear of the pub, again all clean and tidy.

we will be back
Visited this restaurant one Thursday with my wife to try some caribbean food. I have to say it did not look much from the outside but what a little gem it was. They had opened late because of a flood and advised us right at the start they were running quite late with their prep (we were there early) but we decided to wait it out. The staff (and the owner) were very friendly and engaging and supplied a free drink and some wings as an apology for the delay. When the food came (goat curry) it was really nice. This is not fine dining and does not pretend to be. Rather the owner and his brother want to serve the food of their parents and grandparents, authentic. It was a lovely evening and we will definitely go back
An unassuming little place that offers a friendly welcome and excellent, attentive service. It's got a cosy, slightly bio/eco feeling with very interesting plants and an insect hotel outside the door. Menu is limited but more than adequate for a light lunch or afternoon tea. Nice music playing unobtrusively in the background too. A really great touch is their bottomless cup for tea or coffee.
Blink and you'll miss this place as you drive along the busy and fast A52 between Boston and Skegness. It's on a cross-roads just after the main Friskney village turn-off travelling NE. But DON'T miss it because it really is a worthwhile pit-stop. Opposite, down the lane towards the Wash, there is some brilliant wild walking.
Thought give it a go read some excellent reviews. How wrong was I placed order at 6-10 was told going to be an hour and 20 mins, waited no show even gave extra half an hour the phoned up to ask where it was and it hadn’t even been started so cancelled and went somewhere else
It wasn't until after we'd paid for drinks that we were told they'd have to be in takeaway cups, despite it only being 2pm, an hour before closing. When we queried this, they said they close early if it's raining. Why? I can understand if the weather meant it was really quiet, but they were turning away customers because they apparently couldn't work if it was raining outside.
Oh what a gem of a place to stay. Rustic and welcoming. Service was impeccable and the food was delicious. We didn't have to wait too long for our meals to arrive,
all homemade and the cakes were to die for.
Helen the owner was so helpful and informative with the history of the tea room and any other questions we had.
Wil definitely return
Five of us including a vegetarian had a full English breakfast. Everything was of a high quality and cooked extremely well. The waiting staff were very pleasant and friendly. Would definitely recommend at £6.95 per breakfast 10 out of 10.
Called in for a meal as all local eateries were packed out. My wife had her usual chicken chow mein, which she enjoyed. However my chicken szechuan and fried rice was bland. Lots of chicken and veg but the sauce was watery and lacked the spiciness I would expect. No egg in the fried rice. At home, for about £5 cheaper, we would have had a far tastier meal. It was not until I began this review I realised we had also been overcharged by £1. Having seen some of the positive reviews, I can only assume, this was a bad day in the kitchen. Thankfully, unlikely to be in this area again so won't have to consider a return visit
