Wonderful welcome from a lass on her first shift. Well done. Burger and rosemary fries - excellent. The mushroom and cheese tart was poor, little filling and what was present was just a blob. The baby salad potatoes were new potatoes cut into smaller pieces whilst the heritage carrots were overcooked. This over cooking would have been the reason why we waited 45 minutes for the meals to arrive. The male waiter asked if all was well and we responded in an equivocal manner. No enquiry made regarding our unenthusiastic response. We will not be back but wish the new start waitress well.

Thank you so much to Neil and his staff for giving me and my party, the best time one could have wished for. My guests , not all local, commented on the quality of the meal, tappaniaki so expertly cook. Everything came together, once again thank you for making my 80 th birthday unforgettable.

Very poor food. We ordered 2 x plaice & chips, 1 vegan burger & onion rings. The vegan burger consisted of an overcooked burger in a dry bun. There was no butter, salad, vegan cheese or sauce. Please don’t offer a vegan option if you can’t prepare one sufficiently. I don’t know how much you charged for it, but it wasn’t worth it. The fish & chips were bang average and the onion rings had a bit of tin foil in the box. All in all, definitely not worth £34. A real shame because this used to be a good fish & chip shop.

What a hidden gem! Scotia and Lisa are fabulous hosts. As a family in a campervan looking for a stop over on the east coast this ticked a lot of boxes. Free stopover in their carpark if you buys drinks at the pub. They have an honest shop with all the bits you may need, milk, chocolate etc a washing up sink and washing machine. The pub had a great atmosphere, darts boad, and kids were made to feel welcome. We stayed over for NYE and the pub put on a small free buffet and kareoke. We also walked to the village hall that charged adults £2 entry for a kids disco and cheap drinks. The following morning we were offered a full English and a cuppa for £7. There is also an electrical point in the honesty shop you can use overnight for a charge of £7. Not much in the area but great for bird watches on the marshes or a cheap and cheerful stop over.

“Two teas and a pot of hot water please” (not to make it go further, just my wife likes very weak tea). The assistant replied “that’ll be £7.10”!!! I politely responded saying “I am not paying £7.10 for two teas” and walked away. I also noticed that a toasted teacake was £4!! Needless to say we won’t be going back.

Food taste best around so far as I’ve tried all around a 30 mile radius since moving up here most of them don’t know how to cook a decent Curry and most people don’t know what a decent Curry tastes like ! l’m travelling 45 minutes to get there but it’s worth it! The Deepings NWR ladies descended on the cafe yesterday following a marvellous tour of Crowland Abbey. What a warm welcome we received despite being slightly late for our booked tables. This is a lovely asset to the town, such a friendly place with delicious cakes and meals and excellent coffee. Everyone was delighted with the cafe, service and food. Thanks very much to The Old Paper Shop. We shall be back.
