I was introduced to Pacey's when I moved here by a friend who's a Spalding native. Since then, it's become a regular meeting place for us and we always look forward to the announcement of each week's cheesecake flavour! Can't speak highly enough of the quality of the baking and friendliness of the staff - you really get the sense here that it's not just a café, but a real cornerstone of the community.

Well done, Pacey's. My friend and I visited at lunchtime. She needs a dairy free meal but was very taken with the pork on the special's board - but it came creamy mash and vegetables with butter . The knowledge of the waitress and the desire to make the meal suitable for her (she offered to have something else!) was wonderful. The alterations they suggested to make it suitable for her was very much appreciated and the food was delicious. Thank you

Great little local cafe, good service, lovely staff, relatively low waiting times and good meals. Good place for people of all ages and diets. The bakery is also top tier. Only downside is that it often becomes full at peak times so you have to be wary of that, but you should expect that from a small place like this. Overall just a lovely place with great food and drink.

Had a lovely lunch here today, one main meal and one from the specials board, both really enjoyed what we had, only slight criticism was that the lady in charge of seating us seemed stressed out and rushed which made us feel a little uncomfortable so when we finished eating we left straight away instead of sitting for a while as we usually would. I know the stresses of working in a cafe but it’s best to try and hide it from the customer best you can. Had the service been better I’d have given 5/5.

Well Paceys, you have done it again, an outstanding tea. It will last all day, as you did on our last gift from our daughter, Joanne. There's so much and variety in the box, not the same as before but just as well produced. Lovely and would recommend it anybody. Doubt if you could manage it all at the café but they'll probably give a "doggie bag". Nice one Paceys

As you look in the window of this shop, you would think it was just a Bakery but when you enter and see the tables and chairs downstairs, you realise it is a restaurant too and the flight of stairs takes you to the main restaurant. It's homely and cosy, can be noisy at lunch times, but that is a good sign as it means the food is good so people keep returning. My husband and I don't eat anywhere else when we are in Spalding. The food is hot, the staff are very pleasant and friendly and there is plenty to choose from. We highly recommend it.

We ordered four hot drinks and four cakes. Drinks took twentyfive minutes to arrive and only did so when we reminded staff that we were still waiting for our order. (It wasn't busy) Had to go to counter again to say we had ordered cakes, which they had forgotten. Cakes arrived a few minutes later, although one of them was the wrong cake. All pretty inefficient really. If we hadn't already paid, we would probably have left.

Mum and myself often pop in on a Saturday for lunch and always get a nice welcome even from the kitchen staff as we walk up the stairs. They have a good variety to choose from, from light bites, full meals to afternoon tea. Everything I’ve had has always been fresh, cooked and presented well. There bread has always had a unique taste of its own it’s so good. Today I had the quiche it came with side salad, coleslaw, a pot of salad cream and two slices of gorgeous soft baked bread. Thoroughly enjoyed it. For desert I had one a cream bun which are amazing the cream they make also has a taste of its own, however I was a little disappointed with the amount of cream that was in it, more cream please!

Went in this morning to avail of the bacon bap + coffee deal for £2.95 as my colleagues in the office have done before. Ordered 2 baps and 2 coffees, paid £5.90, nice chap brought the baps from upstairs, at which point they were confiscated by a lady on the till, and I was told that I had been charged for rolls not baps. Chap disappeared upstairs, and said lady followed him, and brought me back 2 little rolls, with a rasher of bacon in each. Nothing like what we've had before, and certainly the dearest mini-bacon roll I've ever had (it was very nice though, hence 2 stars instead of 1). Won't be going back.

This is the most amazing bakery for miles around. They bake the most wonderful bread and have a delicious array of cakes and sometimes sweets which can be taken away. They of course have an eat-in cafe which serves freshly home-made snacks using their own bread and rolls which of course has been baked on the premises. They sell small home-made christmas cakes at Christmas time which are just the right size for a couple or small family. I wish they had another branch nearer my home.

I include a picture to show the tiny portions they dish up. Fish and chips came with 21 chips (plenty of small ones in there too) and a tablespoon, at most, of mushy peas. The curry sauce (on the chips) was incredibly thick. I know they have a senior menu, where the portions are smaller, so I'd hate to think what you get on them. If I'm honest, I think they served a Senior meal, I cannot believe a 'normal' portion would be so small! That said , the bar person insisted, what I was served, is normal. If you want a decent (or even normal) portion of food, avoid the Pied Calf, we were not impressed.
