Oh My Cod in South Holland

Our regular place for fish & chips and they’re consistently really good. Cod tonight though was even better than usual, can’t remember having had any better. My daughter had the southern chicken goujons and they were lovely too.

Haddock was really tasty and the batter was crunchy, the dog enjoyed the sausage too.

Some times chips need little longer in fryer but other than that food really good

Second best Chippy in UK 🇬🇧 after North Bay Fisheries in Scarborough your Homemade fishcakes are amazing the chips are top class as well definitely recommend this Chippy if you are in Spalding or south Lincolnshire

Chips were good, cod bites great value for money, wasn't impressed with the pie...soggy pastry as heated up in microwave, but would definitely recommend, and we will go back

Very chatty staff, I mean the owner 😀 Food they are serving is nice too. Fish, bites and scampi pieces not soaked with oil like some do. Pannier is light and actually edible. Didn't try chips recently as I mostly avoid ordering them as I hate mushy potatoes dipped in oil, but I am sure they would fry them twice for me.

Didnt know area and looking for fish and chips. Just happened to see this place so stopped to try it. Glad we did. Food prepared to order, very generous portions and cooked to perfection. Staff were really friendly. Place spotlessly clean. If ever in the area again would definitely make a point of returning here. FIVE STAR FISH AND CHIPS here.

Very nice local chippy. Didn't even know this existed until I drove down the street. Only downside is to use your card, you'll have to spend a minimum of £6. Other than that prices for cod, chips etc are good.

A fantastic, family-run and award winning fish and chip shop. Items cooked fresh to order. Staff are very polite and presentable. The shop is immaculately clean. They have a five star food hygiene rating and have won national awards for being the best fish and chip shop. Reasonably priced too. As is quite understandable they often get very busy with customers but they deal with everyone efficiently and politely. They also have a mobile fish and chip trailer if you want to hire them for an event. It would make an interesting wedding reception meal. I would highly recommend this establishment and I will certainly be returning.

Went to omc #2 the other day for a portion of sausage and chips, everything was soaked in grease. A few hours later i developed symptoms of food poisining which was really bad. I felt ill soon after eating then sickness started. Do not reccommend and will never ever be going back.

Grabbed dinner from here whilst I was working away from home today, and I'll definitely return. Fantastic freshly made hot food despite coming in nearer closing time, and really generous portions. I can see why their chips came highly recommend by clients I had visited, and the fish cake was huge and really well made! Interior looks very clean and well presented and the 2 staff members were friendly and gave some cutlery to take as well :) intrigued by the battered oreo on the menu, maybe I'll try that next!

Had fish and chips from there just now, wow! Big portions, haddock beautifully cooked, light crispy batter, gorgeous taste, chips equally as good (too many to eat). Would recommend a visit. Fair price, generous portions, beautifully cooked

Been there a few times, literally never had an all steak pie (it’s on the menu), they’ve always run out. The last time I went (tonight) I found out they’d forgotten to include the curry secure I’d ordered an paid for. Top 50 chip shops in your dreams, not worth the effort

Really good food. I drive past 3 or 4 different fish and chip shops on the way to get to Oh My Cod, but it’s always worth it. Really appreciated it today especially as I didn’t realise but I turned up as they were closing up and they still cooked up 2 portions of fish and chips for me and the Mrs. Thankyou again

No cod, so went for haddock, skin on absolutely dry and disgusting, my dogs didn't even eat it!!! Mushy peas were even gross for a change

today was the first time i have been to this shop. will definitely go again. staff friendly, shop clean and food hot. the only criticism i have is that there were too many chips for me. would recommend to anyone.

We have tried most of the fish and chip shops in Spalding and much prefer the Oh My Cod at the small shopping precinct in Wygate. Really good portions, good quality fish and the batter was not greasy like some others, let’s hope it stays like this. There is no queuing as after ordering they give you a little beeper which lets you know when your order is ready, I really hope they keep this method going after lockdown. The only thing to be aware of at the moment is that it is a cash purchase only. The co op there has a cash machine which might help

I like there chips and go frequently but when I go on a Tues evening the chips always seem undercooked so my usual chippy Tues will have to stop. I will try it another day to see if there still undercooked but a bit disappointed in this. However a very good chips hop and would still recommend

We have moved our fish chips purchases here from Market Deeping because HO MY COD are normally the best. We had our jab Thursday and went for fish and chips, but this time the chips were horrible, my wife and I both left half of them instead of eating to much because they normally were so good. We will still use but will avoid having them before five giving time for day before chips to be used up. Would have sent them a direct message but to do so need to use Facebook which I avoid.

The food is usually of a very good standard and represents good value for money. I'm not too sure about the current social-distancing measures behind the counter as there are at least five people in a very small space all stood very close to each other with no PPE being worn by the staff at all.

Heard that OMC had re-opened and collections available. Not had Fish and Chips since early in 2020 so had so looked forward to this meal. Fish was ok, the batter a little soggy though and a few of chips too firm. Okay but nothing special. We'll definitely go for Turners fish and chips in future.....

I have chips from here on a regular basis, more than I should but their chips are delicious! Staff are very friendly and a fast service. This is an award winning shop and it is easy to see why.

Really good quality and fresh however I paid for a large fish and large chips and there weren't many chips at all. Fair enough, the fish took up most of the box but I would have expected them to put a full portion of chips in another box if needed

An excellent Fish and Chip shop. They cater for all the family, from children to senior citizens special offers. All orders are cooked from fresh as you place your order on arrival. A must to try.

Great food, always cooked fresh. The haddock is 1 of the best around IMO, 2nd best behind The Moorings. Chips are nice, but I do prefer old to new potatoes for chips.

Everything is cooked fresh to order, you may have to wait a little while but worth it.

For my dad's birthday all he wanted was a family get together with fish and chips, and as we don't live in Spalding this establishment was recommended to us, and boy are we glad that we gave them a try. The staff were friendly, the menu has an excellent selection and everything is cooked fresh. The chips are delicious and there's no grease residue in the packaging, everyone who had fish thoroughly enjoyed it, the portions are a good size, and the younger members of the group enjoyed their battered mars bars! We will certainly be back.

Discovered this local gem yesterday! Have been actively seeking a quality chippy since moving to Cowbit and at Oh My Cod, we were NOT disappointed! Husband loves chicken and chips and he was delighted by their offering..........my cod was lovely and we both agree that chips are vey traditional and 'old school' ! Staff and management sooooooo friendly and helpful. Would NOT hesitate to recommend this quality take out !!

We went for lunch but arrived as they were about to close. You would expect the staff to be a little "off colour" with us but that was definitely not the case. They were very friendly. The food was freshly cooked. The shop very clean and tidy. We will use them again.

Finally we found a chip shop that cooks in vegetable fat. Don't like my fish to taste like the bottom of the roasting tin on a Sunday! Nice chips fantastic fish, busy but very quick to serve.

Ordered a Haddock. Great size, very large and cooked fresh. The batter (I'm not a batter person) was so light and crispy, I loved it! I lived 4 miles away but is definately worth the trek. Deserves being one of the top 50 fish bars in the country. The staff are also very friendly, considerate and efficient! Also noticed they do gluten free nights! That's nice.
