Stumbled across this Japanese restaurant when we were wandering around Oakham. It took us by surprise, the food was absolutely delicious. I've eaten a fair amount of Japanese food and this was one of the best. A little gem.

We decided to eat here last Saturday. The weather was drizzling, and we noticed a queue had formed when we first walked by. We returned around 1345 and were given a table for 4 upstairs straight away. The service and atmosphere were excellent. Three of us chose to order from the daily specials. Two orders were vegetarian. The Tuscan bean soup was huge! We all were very pleased with our meals. The prices were reasonable, and because the place was getting generally quieter, we never felt rushed. Highly recommended.

Jashir in Oakham offers a delightful dining experience, combining authentic Indian flavours with a welcoming atmosphere. Known for its diverse menu, the restaurant serves classics like butter chicken and lamb rogan josh alongside more unique regional dishes. The flavors are rich and well-balanced, with dishes often customizable to your preferred spice level. The service is friendly and attentive, making it a great choice for both casual dinners and special occasions. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, perfect for enjoying a relaxed meal. With nothing quite like it nearby this restaurant offers to scratch that ramen itch. Real authentic and quality food served by friendly staff. Very pleased with what we ordered and were given great recommendations by staff to return soon as they begin to offer even more varied cuisine including a curry dish.

I recently visited Jamel's Lebanese Food whilst out, and was impressed with the service by the staff. The staff were friendly, approachable and welcoming. There's a range of different Lebanese delicacies which you can choose from. The restaurant is quite cosy. There's lots of lovely art displayed, and even a mini library so you can have some food and drink whilst reading a book. It's a lovely restaurant and I recommend trying it out if you want to try something different.

Excellent pizza. Obviously best to eat at the tiny bar in the window immediately it comes out the forno - but is kind of cramped. But if you can get it home fast enough it’s still good.

Boys weekend away and exactly what we needed. Dartboard, sports on TV, no pretentions, nice landlord, etc

Overall, it was a very disappointing evening. The recent reviews suggest a much better food experience, however we found it was a decidly average curry. Worst of all was the live music. We arrived and thought it was karaoke night however no that was the live act! The volume was very high, so we couldn't have a conversation over our meal and could barely hear the waiters. We would not recommend and will not return

Otters do the best bacon sandwich in Rutland. No - the best bacon sandwich anywhere. This is a very good place with interesting food - efficient staff- and good ambience. It's the sort of place that when you see the next tables food come out you wish you had ordered that too.
