This, however, was not my first foray into the culinary delights offered by Otters Fine Foods. I have indulged in their brunch offerings on several occasions, often finding myself drawn to the perfectly poached eggs, served with fresh smoked salmon over a toasted English muffin, crowned with a silky hollandaise sauce. Each component was executed with precision, the flavors balanced and the textures harmonious. It is, without a doubt, a dish that brings a smile to one’s face. Alas, they serve only chorizo, an ingredient that, while is the preference of some, does not fulfill the role of a classic sausage in the traditional English breakfast. It is a small quibble, but one that has, led me to forgo their otherwise appealing breakfast offering. In conclusion, Otters Fine Foods is a gem in Oakham’s culinary landscape. Whether you seek a light lunch, a leisurely brunch, or simply a warm, inviting atmosphere, this establishment delivers with grace and finesse. One can only hope that in time, they will expand their offerings to include that quintessential English sausage. Until then, Otters remains a lovely place to dine—a place where food is treated with the respect and care it deserves.

I have always loved Otters, and i think it's fair to say that I am a 'regular'. Consistently the staff are friendly, efficient and welcoming, the food is great and there is a lovely ambience. This morning, I decided to treat my 13 year old son to Brunch there - and I have to say that it was exceptional across the board. My son chose the waffles and fruit platter and chocolate milkshake ... I had a Yorkshire pudding wrap, filled with roast beef & cooked to perfection!! This was served with super tasty sauté potatoes. To drink I had the Elderflower with mint & Lemon, elegantly served in a carafe. Afterwards my son had a hot chocolate, with cream, marshmallow and pieces of chocolate brownie, while I had a cappuccino. Highly recommended.

On our second visit to Otters brunch was equally delicious , fine food , excellent staff charming surroundings . No surprise we are planning a return visit

I am so impressed and grateful with the wonderful, kind service received today at Otters. I went out for my first solo trip with my new born today, took my dog as she has always comes with me, the staff where wonderful, I was given a full table with plenty of room for the pram and dog. Having ordered some lunch when it came out my little man was having some lunch of his own, the food was taken away to keep warm until I could eat it, I was given space and time and I can not thank you enough, it was exactly what I needed to help build my confidence. Thank you so much

Superb lunch. Excellent smoked salmon platter with a goodly sum of salad and the best butter (with bread) ever. Quick service even though it was peak time Saturday. Well worth a try.

If you live in Oakham you will know this already. Otters Fine Foods. We were visiting so poped in for a lite lunch. Although very busy, the staff were very welcoming and the service good, more importantly the food was wonderful. Having lived in Spain for a number of years it was good to taste the ham's and cheese from Spain. I would highly recommend a visit for lunch or just a coffee.

Discovered they have an upstairs section which is very quiet and better for a coffee and chat. Often very busy at lunch times

Amazingly spot to drink coffee and smooty . also nice for kids. The paper on the tabel you can use for colours by kid's. The restroom also amazing for kids and adult. Just good if you travel back to wales to uppingham afther 8 hr train travel.

Incredible! Absolutely incredible food and service

Randomly walked in for a lunch with the better half. We sat upstairs and felt very relaxed in a nice relaxed atmosphere. I had the ploughman's lunch and it was epic to be honest..wish I took a pic of it. Huge lumps of cheese and ham and pickles and salad and coleslaw and other yummy stuff. We will visit again if ever in the area.

Popped in for breakfast on a gray rainy day. The town was surprisingly quiet and dead for a market Saturday. We found all the people, enjoying the food at Otters. The place was full but our service was quick, friendly, and attentive. The prices were less than expected for Oakham and the portions were on point. The owner walked around checking in on guests and ensuring everything was satisfactory. We will be regulars as there were many more items on the menu to try. We also purchased some food from the deli which was priced fairly and great quality. I wish I had taken a photo to share.

If I could rate 0 I would. Long Hairs in food and Fat laden bacon seemingly warmed over a tea light. When servers were told they said it must be my own hair. I don’t often decide to pull my hair out and stuff it into a sandwich before eating it for a laugh but it happened nonetheless. Avoid at all costs

This place always intimidated me from the outside, as it sounds quite luxurious, up-market, like I wouldn't know how to eat what I was served, but my assumption was very wrong. Food, whether from the deli or in the cafe, has been great every time. There is a nice amount of variety, the quality high and the portion sizes good. Staff / service is also very good, the staff are attentive and polite. It can be a little cramped when it is busy, which is most of the time, but that only means they're doing something right!

Nice to see very busy today.very good quality soup but what has happened to the nice piece of chunky bread ?.served with to fairy (yes fairy) thin two bite pieces .happy to pay little more for a roll or good portion of bread .

We came here for lunch - walk ins only and whilst it was busy we only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table. We'll worth the wait though! We order the sharing cheese platter and a glass of wine each - exceptional value for money and a great selection of cheese (there was plenty of it too!) and good accompaniments. Staff were friendly and service was good even though it was full. Thoroughly recommend!

Really popular spot and easy to see why, staff, #Matt and co are all swithched on and attentive. Food is sensibly pricrd and first class. Didn't trythe deli, but everywhere was busy so I guess it's just as good. Will be back.

I ordered a takeaway vegan picnic spread with some antipasti and it was delicious. It came with lots of salad and some beautiful fresh sandwiches and tasted great. Everything was on time aswell. Will be ordering again.

A friendly deli and cafe. Mods made to menu to satisfy my fussy, grown up, daughter. Good value, all that food for under £10. Well behaved dogs and small children all accommodated.

I have just eaten the best breakfast ever. What a gem this café is. Poached eggs, buttered parsley mushrooms, chorizo, black pudding, balsamic roasted tomatoes on the vine and sourdough toast. Washed down with two cups of lovely black coffee. STUNNING

Leek and Potato Soup on a cold day was very welcome, it was delicious.

Had very nice Prosecco with charcuterie plate plus French fries with parmesan and truffle mayonnaise.

Lot's of our guests like to visit Otters Fine Foods. This is also a good option for us during the summer months when we can sit outside and relax.
