I was so glad I found this place a few years ago. Tucked away down a side street with not much signage, you can easily miss it. The staff are always welcoming, the fayre is outstanding, and don’t forget to take your own booze, as they haven’t got a licence, and by the way it’s cash only.

Each year we stay just outside Oakham for a week's holiday. Every year since we first found it we have returned to this restaurant. Yet again this week we were not disappointed. The waiter (Anas) always remembers us and welcomes us with a smile and friendly chat and can't do enough for us. The food as always was excellent and the chef made a special request for me which was delicious. We left hoping we might visit again before next year and so did the family members who came with us. The price vis always very reasonable, especially for the quality and being a BYO place is an added bonus

We usually visit the area to see the Ospreys on nearby Rutland Water. 3rd year doing this. So, third year at this fabulous Indian. Service and staff are really friendly and helpful, the food is outstanding, Lamb melt in your mouth curries. byob good, too. Highly recommend if you're in the area. Unfortunately for us, it would be a 2 hour 30 minute drive from home . Just wish this was our local Indian!

I’ve been to this place a few times over the years and always found it to be of decent quality, but something seems to have changed with the chef or owner, and the quality has gone way downhill. Both curries we had were almost too sweet to eat and had the consistency of baby food. The onion bhajis didn’t even taste of onion.

Always good food and great service. For starters we had, popadoms & pickles, tandoori lamb chops (only 2 and very small), onion bhaji (flat and a bit greasy) and a chicken tikka (best of the 3). All very tasty. For mains we had a chicken tikka dopiaza, tandoori mixed grill (huge) and a king prawn balti with mushroom & pilau rice and plain naan. All delicious and good value . Slight mistake by being over charged on the bill which was corrected immediately and bringing your own alcohol definitely helps keep the price down.

Very good food and friendly service. Very popular with local residents. We went over the bank holiday weekend. The portions were perfect for two and sauce was made exactly how we asked for it to be made

Only downside Is cash only payment . Very helpful as the other half is partially sighted and didn't have a guide dog at the time we went.

Really nice food, tasty and came hot and fresh. When undecided on which dish to choose the waiter was really helpful in giving some advice. Recommend bringing your own drinks as soft drinks/water were rather expensive. Good quality food, complimentary poppadoms and dips and overall a place to visit.

Wonderful ambience and decor. Friendly staff. Impecable food and well priced. The only downside was at the end it was cash payments only. Thankfully Tesco cash machine was working. What if it wasn't? They missed out on a tip due to this as was a bad end to the night.

We had the worst curry we’ve ever had in the UK last night from 10 Dining street. The garlic chilli lamb was a dish of slop with absolutely no spice or flavour, the chicken tikka masala was just as bad and the accompanying aloo gobi and onion bhaji’s were just as awful. We’ve been using this restaurant for over 10 years and it used to be excellent. They couldn’t even be bothered to reply to my message telling them of the poor quality. Such a shame - we won’t ever go here again.

We’ve been using 10 dining street for over 10 years- always excellent food (either eat in or takeaway). Unfortunately last nights takeaway was the worst Indian meal I have ever eaten. They haven’t responded to my messages asking them why the food quality has dropped so low. The food we had last night was truly shocking and we won’t be going here again. Such a shame as it was such a fantastic restaurant.

I've had a lot of Indian meals. But this was the best ever! Poppadoms and dips. Wow! Starters? Oh yes! Main? Mmmm. Desserts? Yep, also good. Bring uour own booze and enjoy!!

What a pleasant surprise!! Not so impressed either the exterior & parking wasn’t the best but on opening the door staff greeted us warmly & the interior very well furnished. Food was excellent, lamb Balti, best my husbands ever eaten! Absolutely no complaints & good prices. Definitely return but won’t site near the doorway,… brrr

Don't live in the area but always visit this restaurant when we are.... delicious Currys service always with a smile, have been to dozens of Indian restaurants over the years and this place is head and shoulders above the lot

i have been here many times & it has been fantastic taken many visitors who have said best curry they’ve ever had , but ! over the last couple of months has had a marked decline possibly different chef but what we’re explosions of flavour now taste like cooked meat added to a sauce bland & thin , i do hope this can be reversed

High quality food and good portions.

Been here as many times as there are dishes on the main menu. Impeccable service, very relaxed, attentive staff, excellent food and competitive pricing. Unlicensed so you're welcome to take whatever drinks you want. Extremely vegetarian friendly. The staff and chefs are very accommodating if you want to customise your order. They can explain every dish to you if you're unsure about spiciness or heat and will offer advice when ordering. In a cheerful and fun way. We even got to take a look in the kitchen and meet the chefs. Which demonstrates their quality and openness. With 40 odd years experience of curry houses I have to concede this is one of, if not the best and most consistent restaurants I've visited. They occasionally add changes to the menu and it just gets better. If you are local or find yourself in Oakham, "as your attorney I advise you to eat here". They are family friendly and will accommodate kids with picky tastes. To summarise, without prejudice, 100 %. Doesn't get much better than this whether it's a romantic dinner for 2 or a table for 12 (booking necessary) you won't be disappointed. If you are there's a McDonald's down the road. Not that there's anything wrong with McDonald's whatsoever. They also offer a take out service but not delivery. Cash only, just so you know.

The entrance is not obviously that of a restaurant so it would be easy to think it is just a house front door. Once inside, the atmosphere is so welcoming, the staff very attentive and the service punctual. The food was truly delicious and I am sad I live too far away to go often.

I have had several nice meals and takeaways from here over the years. Last weekend we ordered a takeaway ... It was the worst I have ever experienced any where in the UK. A Chicken Tikka Masala ... the staple of the Indian restaurants. Easy to get right you'd think. Wrong ... I got bits of chicken (6 or so) floating in a sea of what tasted like watered-down mango chutney, dyed red. No onion, peppers, tomatoes and worse still no flavour or heat. The chicken pasanda (my daughter's) was as bad, yellow mango chutney, but it did have a nut in the sauce.

Superb meal. The Chicken Rezalla was new to me but was a very tasty and flavoursome medium-hot spiced curry. The Keema and Garlic Naan was really good too. My son had the number 10 biriani and said it was the best he'd ever had and my wife really enjoyed her lamb saag too. All in all great food and great service, just remember to bring your own alcohol as they only serve soft drinks!

Was advised by a lovely lady from the fab shop Snapdragon, and we weren't disappointed! Polite greeting and service. Plates hot, just the way I like them. Food incredibly tasty and best I've had for a long time. Would highly recommend and will certainly come back when we visit from North Yorkshire.

Ordered a few dishes as takeaways. The staff were friendly and threw in a couple of poppadoms free of charge. The dishes were fine, but not great. It may be the best curry house in Oakham, but I would personally make the trip to Leicester for something a bit more authentic.

Although the reviews were all extremely positive for this restaurant, the experience completely surpassed expectations! We were blown away with the quality of food and flavors and will certainly be visiting again when we are nearby. The children also told us how much they enjoyed dinner, and the clear plates said it all. Bring your own alcoholic drinks also made for a quirky experience which we really enjoyed. Thanks again

Have yet to eat in, but the takeaway has been great and is my new regular. Price is very fair and service is always quick. They do not deliver and only accept cash, but it's worth those minor inconveniences.

Lovely restaurant, great food and great service from a very warm and friendly staff. It's also good to take your favourite drink with you. Faultless! We have eaten at many Indian restaurants,Northampton, Yorkshire, Inverness, Newport Gwent, Sleaford and all Indian restaurants in Oakham. This little restaurant is, in my view, the best we have found, bar none. Fantastic!

We visited for the first time early on a Saturday night, we were very warmly greeted our coats taken and shown a table. Service was efficient and fast throughout our stay and always with a smile. The food itself was top amazing. I had a railway curry and I usually like it medium hot but this was very hot 🔥 however I was offered yoghurt which helped. The naan bread was delicious as was the rice. Its a cash only establishment and you take your own alcohol. We will be back.

First time and definitely won't be the last. One of the best Indian restaurants I've been to. The food was phenomenal, tasting fresh and packed with lots of flavour, not too oily and greasy. The staff were able to cater for our needs, such as adjusting the spice levels, and were very friendly. The interior is spotless and looked very modern and cosy. All in all a 10/10 and will be returning.
