Lovely food, we've never tried that cuisine before but we will be back. Good portions and a good price.

Came for a meal here with friends and I was very impressed with both the service and the food. Both were excellent and I look forward to eating here again soon.

Beautiful room, light and fresh food (though it arrived luke warm) ... but (in huge contrast to Market Harborough) the service really let the place down. The two servers were absolutely lovely but just lacked the training and ability to justify the cost of us eating out rather than eating takeaway at home. For example, I had to ask twice if the food could be served from our side, as the servers leant, full stretch, over the entire table to set down our plates, dragging their apron strings through our friends' food. I asked for tea and this was served in a ceramic bottle (no handle) as they 'had no pot'. This was almost dropped by the server en route to the table (as it was boiling hot) - how did they expect me to handle it? I don't blame the servers. They're clearly being left to it and are doing the best they can with no apparent senior mentor on site. We felt our experience didn't match the size of the bill.

Welcoming and friendly, staff are helpful and attentive without being pushy. Usual range if drinks, but beer is in 660ml bottles, not the usual 330ml. An extensive and interesting menu covering Nepal, Tibet and the usual suspects from the sub- continent. Food service was quick and everything was well presented. Flavours! Coming from the west of England, I am not used to food of this quality… delicious is the first word that comes to mind. Generous covers the portions. Overall a delicious meal that guarantees a return visit.

Hidden gem in Oakham with fantastic food and attentive staff. Can't recommend the homemade veggie momos and dahl makhani enough.

Fantastic food and service a great variation of meals to meet all taste even children. We have had several meals and takeaways and all have been great. We highly recommend this restaurant .

We have been to the Everest Lounge a fair amount over the last couple of years. The food was very good and presented well, although our curry came in a bowl, but there was nowhere in the bowl to put the rice, that seemed to me a little bit odd. A new team seems to have started and were learning the ropes from more experienced members, but they coped very well in what must be a difficult role if you're completely new. Previously when we visited the restaurant, it has nearly always been full on a Friday evening, but this time was fairly quiet.

Under the previous management we were frequent visitors to the Everest Lounge. A couple of weeks ago we ordered a takeaway and were surprised some of our previous favourite dishes were no longer available. Obviously there had been a few changes which included the chef. The discount for takeaways had halved and some prices increased. Boiled rice over £4 .The previous chef produced well above average curries.Unfortunately we wont be returning.

Sandib was amazing from start to finish. Food great, service great. Couldn’t expect anymore. Partner loves spice he helped him pick a dish off the menu, I’m not a massive spice fan and got a great dish recommendation. All round knowledge amazing.!

Just had my first ever pork curry and it was outstanding. It’s often quite quiet but this is no reflection on the quality of the offering. The staff are very attentive and help make the experience of eating so the Everest Lounge a special one.

Table booked for 7pm. Arrived just before. Shown to a table and then shown to a different table (confused) Seated and offered drinks. These took 25 minutes to arrive - and we still hadn’t been given menus. Drinks arrived and offered poppadoms. We accepted and 20 mins later we didn’t have them. Politely asked a passing waiter for them and he apologised. Restaurant was busy and seemed full. I also commented that we hadn’t got a menu and at this point it was 7.45. Poppadoms arrived with picked tray. We were handed a takeaway menu - which seemed strange sitting in the restaurant, but anyway! Looked at the menu and realised it was very different to what we had seen before - we have visited this place lots before and held special family gatherings and occasions here before. At 8.15pm we hadn’t been seen to take an order and no top up of drink. So hubby went to the bar and said we would leave. We explained it wasn’t usually like this to find it has been taken over and under new management. We explained that we had vouchers for our meal as family and friends know we like it there and had given us them for Xmas. Told we couldn’t use them (still in date) as they are new owners. Seemed harsh as it’s still called Everest lounge and the £100 vouchers have been bought in good faith! We left! So I can’t comment on the food - as we didn’t actually eat! But we were surrounded by people in the same situation. A couple next to us had been there since 6.30 and hadn’t eaten! Is it teething problems of a new owner? As a local business owner, I know these stresses all too well. But we would always honour, within reason a voucher bought less than 8 weeks before we took over. So, no. We won’t be back Sorry

Having had many good meals at the Everest Lounge in the last year or two, we ordered a takeaway on Sunday evening. Sadly this turned out to be the worst Indian meal that we have ever had. The dishes were frankly unpleasant and virtually inedible. To make matters worse the prices have all been raised. We have now discovered that the restaurant changed hands earlier this month and, somewhat annoyingly, the new management can presumably still trade on the good reviews that their predecessor enjoyed on trip advisor. In our opinion it is now best avoided - fortunately Oakham has other Indian restaurants which are in a different league .

Absolutely fabulous … never had Nepalese before, staff were so knowledgeable about menu choices and very friendly. Service was fantastic … highly recommend this place. Thank you so much … will definitely be back … yum 😊

Took the money and did not deliver

Really good evening restaurant. The service was quick and the atmosphere added a special touch to our experience. The food? Absolutely delicious! We started with the Chicken Trio and indulged in the flavorful Chicken Biryani, both exceeding our expectations. If you happen to be in the area in the evening and fancy a bite, this place comes highly recommended.

Great menu with a mix of Indian, Nepalese and Chinese dishes on the menu. Friendly staff and the prices are pretty good as well. Food is really good. 👌 Plenty of nearby parking and within walking distance of other amenities in Oakham if you fancied a wander round while you are here.

The evening meal is at risk, and there are three cuisines available: Indian, Nepalese, and Chinese. Additionally, the atmosphere is astonishing.

The evening meal is delicious and the ambience is quite appreciable. I definitely liked those indian nepalese and chinese cuisines.

Food is lovely but service lets it down bit. After we ate our main meals the staff just left us (no asking if we wanted pudding, no asking if we wanted any drinks etc.). We sat there for well over an hour and they didn't bother to check on us at all. Shame, as the food is very good.

The reviews in fact understate how good this place is. From the decor and atmosphere to the welcoming service all top draw. Food was also up to that mark. I ate traditional British Indian - Chicken Masala, onion bhaji both really good. My partner a vegan also had a marvelous meal - Tandoori Broccoli, Dai, smoked aubergine. A really nice relaxing evening.

i went with my family for the evening meal on November 18, and it felt like a delightful experience. The Atmosphere was inviting, staff were friendly, and the authentic food was reasonably priced. I personally highly recommend it

I would thoroughly recommend the Everest. We went on Sunday and Monday whilst having a short break and made a great choice. Having three different cuisines is unique in my opinion and we tried Indian and Nepalese and were not disappointed. The staff made us most welcome and made time to chat with us. Would definitely come again.

Absolutely brilliant - all six of us had nothing but high praise for our meals. It was nice to have the choice of differing cuisines too - Thai, Chinese and Indian. The waitress was very attentive and absolutely hilarious! Monday night and it was very busy, they deserve to be.

I recently saw that the Everest had expanded their menu to include Chinese dishes. I was skeptical, but having read the reviews we gave it a try. It was probably the nicest sweet and sour chicken I have ever had. Absolutely delicious and we will be ordering again!

We ordered our food on just eat. Usually never had a problem, however tonight, they got our order wrong. We politely called up, which led us to the women connecting us to the delivery driver, we explained the situation which led into her arguing with us saying that we was wrong, we explained we ordered two different curry’s and chips, but got cold chips and two of the same curry’s, she continued to say “i double checked the bag” repeatedly. We then asked her if she could come look at the order and take it back as it was quite obvious it wasn’t ours as it had multiple items inside that we didn’t order. she refused and implied we was lying and then said “i checked with the chef” and that resulted with her ending the phone, so if you go here be prepared to argue when you politely complain.

Lovely restaurant that has expanded thier menu to include Chinese dishes too. Talking to them they serve the large variety of food types due to authentic chiefs. Food was great and highly recommend the goat curry.

This is not your standard curry house, far from it! Food very flavoursome, service attentive without being over so. This is the fourth time we have been there and always an excellent standard. Although we come from a nearby town with 6 curry houses, Everest Lounge will always be our go to. Very highly recommended.
