Had a brilliant night at Hukka Lounge – the vibe was relaxed and lively, just what we were after. The food was fresh and full of flavour, and the shisha was some of the best we’ve had in a while.
Big shoutout to Harri for looking after us – his service was spot on from start to finish. Made us feel welcome and made sure everything ran smoothly. Really appreciated it!
Will definitely be returning – highly recommend if you’re after a great spot to chill with good food and good company.
Just left this lovely little restaurant. First night back open so very quiet. My husband and I both had boneless jerk chicken, rice n peas, slaw and festival. Food comes in sharing portions. Small but so very tasty. Also very filling. I really recommend a visit. The staff are so lovely and friendly. Thank you Mae and team xxx
Absolutely awful do not buy from them, we excepted the food to be good considering the price and awards they have received. (We had large chips, a fish, 3 fish cakes, curry sauce and peas: cost us between £30-£40) How they have the awards I will never know as the chips were all dry and all 5 of us left them. The fish was thin ate more batter than fish. We aren’t particularly fussy with quality of food but having to really chew the chips and eat just batter really did push our limits. Waste of money will be sure to never go again and tell others not to either. We went years ago and it was lovely but it has really gone downhill and I wouldn’t even pay £3 for what we received today.
It was so bad we have had to go out to another chip shop and buy from there as none of us really took more than a few bites of the food from Cod Scallop.
I booked a table months in advance, when booking I ensured I booked an earlier meal than normal as we had the theatre later on that evening. We arrived and was seated quickly, we waited for about 10 min before the lovely waitress took our drinks order, the drinks and water were slow to come out. We ordered our meals, the starter came, unfortunately our main never arrived, we kept being told it will be 4 min but this turned into 45 min. Our second round of drinks arrived just as we told the waitress we would have to leave. She apologised and took the mains off our bill along with a round of drinks, of which we didn’t drink, due to the length of time waiting.
A very dissatisfied service which ruined what was supposed to be good evening.

If I could have put zero review I would have, walked into premises today and apart from 2 people in the corner nobody else in, I was given a voucher bought for me for my birthday today and I could have walked in naked and the staff wouldn't have cared or noticed tbh!
Went past the bar with my partner to find a table no hello good morning or acknowledgement at all in any way, staff at and behind the bar taking no notice, another couple walked in sat behind us again no acknowledgement, I thought this was and is disgusting to treat members of the public in this way, I do not any kind of freebies of any kind as I 100% will not be coming in again and will spend my gift in another S&L. DISAPPOINTED
Went here for valentines and the atmosphere was ok, however, despite there being alot of staff hanging around, it took nearly 45 minutes to get a starter and this was only because they came over to see if we wanted another drink.
The food was servicable but the lamb was very overcooked and not tender and chicken was a little dry.
They had set meals and for 2 it came to £85 + tip (which they automatically applied and did not deserve).
Took about 2 hours to have a starter and main and it wasn't overly busy.
Would not recommend and will not be going again
9 members of our party got food poisoning from the buttermilk chicken! Be warned!
So, we recently had our wedding reception here but have also eaten here prior to this. General restaurant (1st floor) is lovely, high ceilings with glass chandeliers and great service. Bar area is on the ground floor and a lovely open space.
Events: We held our wedding reception at the cosy club (meal and then evening). Overall, it was perfect! Starting with a really reasonable pricing point for what we wanted and they offered us lots of options to keep the cost as low or high as we wanted. We opted for bacon cobs and fries in the evening which they were more than happy to accommodate.
The meal was lovely, we chose on the day from the party menu (again, lots of menu options but we preferred this menu from them all).
It was 2-1 cocktails when we arrived, so everyone was naturally straight on this...this did cause some delays in service.
My biggest concern through the whole process was communication. Getting in touch with the event planner was extremely hard, emails and no answers. On our actual wedding day it didn't seem like anything that we discussed in the final meeting was then given to staff to work from. Communication definitely needs to be better.
But, overall would definitely recommend as a bar, restaurant and wedding/function space! ✨
Really disappointing. Very different from the other branch. Both ladies were on their phones upon arriving. When asked what different types of proteins are available “chicken, beef or pork” was the response. There was no detail of the type of proteins (marinade/cooking type etc). Both workers had no idea what type of food they were serving which is very shocking for this sort of establishment.
Pudding Pantry is usually a good experience but this time was underwhelming, the pancakes were tough and when we asked if we could have both butter and maple syrup found that they would charge us for the syrup....with pancakes. This wasn't too bad but when they are charging £2.50 for the extra syrup you expect it to come in more than a thimble sized dish. An entire 330ml bottle of Canadian maple syrup only cost 6 quid so for 2.50 you could be less stingy. Butter and maple syrup should just come included when you order pancakes. If you ordered chips you wouldn't pay extra for ketchup and mayonnaise.
