Food wasn't great, overcooked steak, hard roast potatoes, starter described as having a rarebit sauce but there was no sauce and it was very dry. Service wasn't great, don't think any of them smiled even once and we were over charged. Won't be be back

Had the festive menu of turkey, well was like reconstituted meat, cold ,even though the waitress said the food was hot! Ready in about 10 mins of us ordering! To quick to be freshly cooked more like it was left on the work top to go cold! Complained about it and was offered a free coffee which was a kind thought! When the bill came they had charged us twice for desserts ! Not impressed the meal was like a cheap £5.99 pub meal, we wanted some thing festive and special, avoid, will not be going back, also did not pay the service charge. Such a shame as nice festive restaurant .

Works Christmas dinner for 16 people. Promptly seated and all our food we had ordered were on little cards for each person, a nice touch. Now I'm a coeliac and eat and drink gluten free. Waitress came over for drinks, amazingly, no gluten free beer option...really? She didn't even seem to understand what Gluten was to be fair(I don't drink wine, or much else, so it was Coke tonight, not a good start) Next starters came, Welsh rarebit, part warm part cold, first given to the wrong person, told it was gluten free option, but nothing to say it was or wasn't? Main course was the Turkey dinner, again the gluten free dinner given to wrong person, and guess what, to make it gluten free they took items off the dinner to make it so(and charged the same amount for it)so I actually had a smaller dinner to those who had the similar dish) My colleague had the fillet steak, which he couldn't eat as he said it was really terrible(they apologised and offered a complimentary drink(for steak) even though they said the chef said it was a poor piece of meat(the drink wasn't taken as he though that was insulting) The desert was creme broulee which to be fair was fine, and I had another coke. To round it off, the bill was around 700 pounds with a service charge and my boss paid it(more fool him and the company that was paying) because it didn't deserve it. So to sum up, if you eat GLUTEN FREE OR YOU ARE COELIAC DO NOT EAT HERE. I wouldn't recommend it and I wont be back.

I ordered a sausage on toast. One small slice of warm toast arrived with one sausage cut in h alf. I was appalled and would have been ashamed to serve it. I complained and they brought me a further 2 slices of toast with a further 2 sausage but had the gall to charge for both dishes. We were not offered the breakfast plus drink for £13 as advertised and the also put on a service charge. I won't be returning to this restaurant and am not surprised that only two other tables were taken.

Good venue and staff, but very basic food, poor pub grub and badly cooked. Main course was described as Duck, but what arrived was a very salty cottage pie, the type you would buy in Aldi for £1.99. Dry bland and definitely reheated from frozen. Another meal was steak which wasn’t in any way cooked. vegetables were again reheated from frozen. Christmas pudding desert was cold and in no way cooked. Overall a very odd meal costing £31.95 each, made from cheap ingredients, found it impossible to understand why they get any positive reviews?

My food was cold and inedible - I couldn't even cut my steak with a steak knife. My husband chose the christmas dinner and it looked like a warmed up school dinner - frozen vegetables, including the roast potatoes and uninviting turkey. I have had many many lovely meals at Bistrot Pierre but the last two have been disappointing- they seem to going for speed instead of quality now. I would like to say the service was excellent - the waiting staff dealt with each issue swiftly and politely.

1st time here and disappointed. My food was good but my wife's steak was cold and looked awful. The main reason for bad review though was the fact this is the only place I've ever been where they serve you main 5 minutes after your starter! We wasn't even part way through it, they did no more than put our mains on the next empty table whilst we hurriedly finished the starter! It's a no from us unfortunately..

Really mediocre, food was bland boring and all in all just bad. Service was the bare minimum and clunky at the best of times, sorbet was just ice cream, mousse was over whipped and ruined. Raspberry mojito was absolutely disgusting, mint was dead, brown and muddled so bits of mint kept seeping through the straw, cubed ice not crushed ice. Then the calamari came out, 5 pieces of calamari as a starter is very poor, and was served with a lime??? Garlic butter didn't taste of anything except herbs, no garlic whatsoever. No atmosphere at all, the playlist of music was so random and more like what you would expect in a bar or nightclub. How is this place still open?!? There wasn't a single good thing about it and it was expensive. Really poor and puts French food to shame, won't be returning that's for sure, so disappointed 😞

NOTYINGHAM BRANCH Well, starting with walking in what looked like a chef outside the door smoking, and smelt of booze. He looked dishevelled and unkempt. We nearly turned around then but as we had booked and had been traveling all day we thought we would stay. It didn't get much better. Dirty cutlery and glass wear , when we mentioned this they didn't look to impressed and walked away and went to speaknto some one and then they both glared at us and smirked. We felt very un welcome. When we asked for the service charge tp be removed they took 20 mins to bring the bill back again even though restaurant wasn't busy. After that experience I'm not surprised.

Better than most restaurants. Good service, not too long waiting to be served. Really tasty food. Would have given 5 stars were it not for the point that when asked how I would like my steak, I answered “medium”, but sadly the choices are either “pink” or “well done”. I had the Boeuf Bordelaise. I also had the cheese board, and it is probably my mistake to ask for butter with the dish , but it doesn’t offer butter as part of the plate. They did bring me a side pate of butter though. Not too expensive either

Short review: Incredibly delicious and high quality meal, and satisfying portion sizes for the price Long review: Came here with my girlfriend for a special meal we had planned for some time. We chose this place because of the glowing reviews, although it looked to be at a price point higher than the places we normally go to. We were greeted by a friendly waitress Caitlin, and decided to order some bread, olives and Chorizo as starters to share. The bread was clearly freshly baked, still warm with a crispy crust. It was a decent sized loaf for 2, and came with a soft garlic butter, which was lightly salted and very tasty. The olives were a mixture of a few varieties, which tasted fresh and high quality, and the chorizo was incredible. We got 5 house made small chorizo sausages, which were lightly charred and coated in honey. These were incredible on their own and with the bread, and the honey balanced the saltiness of the chorizo and olives perfectly. Together these came to about £12.50. I would especially recommend this combination, particularly the chorizo. For my main, I ordered the duck breast, and my Girlfriend had the 8oz sirloin. The duck dish consisted of a large whole duck breast (which was offered pink or well done, so I opted for pink), a square of dauphinoise potatoes, a poached peach half, a red wine jus, broccoli, hazelnuts and chicory, costing a total of £23.95 (this was one of the more exoensive options, with some ofbthe cheaoer options costing £15) The duck was cooked perfectly to my liking. The fat was not as crispy as I would usually prefer, but was still rendered down and was soft rather than chewy. It was very juicy, tender, and had a complex flavour. The dauphinoise potatoes were lightly crispy on the outside, with a creamy soft texture I'm the inside, with a hint of onion and cheese. The red wine sauce was very savoury with a nice saltiness, and when paired with the duck and some of the peach, made for the perfect bite. The vegetables were cooked slightly soft in he middle, with a satisfying crisp on the outside. Allong with the crunchy nuts, this added some textural variety from the softness of the duck, peach, and potatoes. Would highly recommend this dish for anybody else considering going The sirloin steak came with a small metal basket of fries, and a generous helping of melted compound butter over the steak. She ordered hers medium rare, and told me that it was perfectly cooked for her. The fries were thin and crispy, with a generous amount of seasoning, and the butter made it even better (because it's butter, and you can never go wrong with adding more of it). This also cost £23.95 For desert, we each had the Creme Brulee. It arrived in a much wider ramekin than usual, meaning we got a large area of the sugar layer. A scrape with a spoon showed that it was perfectly torched, with a glass-like feel. The spoon cracked very satisfyingly through the layer. The custard tasted perfect to me, with a good balance of sweetness and vanilla. The sugar has a great snap to it, and had a subtle bitter note that tied the desert together and stopped it from feeling overly rich. Easily the best creme brulee I've had, and would highly recommend. These got £7.25 each. It is also worth mentioning that our waitress Roi, as well as Caitlin, and Duarte who greeted us at the door all gave us excellent service, and appeared genuinely friendly. Roi in particular seemed very friendly and genuine, and made us leave feeling very happy with the whole experience. Besides the food and staff, the atmosphere and decoration was cozy and calming, with a lot of interesting things in the walls to stare blanky at while savouring an especially good bite. Could not recommend this place enough, even if the price is higher than the places you are used to.

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Bistrot Pierre in Nottingham to celebrate their 30th birthday. We were invited to experience their special nostalgic menu, and it was a delightful evening from start to finish. ❤️ The moment we stepped in, we were captivated by its charming and cozy atmosphere. The decor beautifully combines modern elegance with rustic touches, creating a warm and inviting setting. Their special nostalgic menu truly highlighted the best of French cuisine, celebrating 30 years of culinary excellence. We highly recommend visiting during this celebration week to indulge in their exquisite offerings - 3 courses and a 125ml glass of Cuvee selection 30 for £30 ✨ Entrées: We started off with rich and earthy Mushroom Sourdough and creamy Baked Goats Cheese. Both dishes were incredibly flavorful and served with complimentary freshly baked French bread and butter. Plats: For our main course, we chose the Caramelized Onion and Brie Tart. This dish was a standout, with its flaky pastry, sweet caramelized onions, and creamy Brie. It left us wanting more. Dessert: We shared the Cafe Gourmand for dessert, which included a trio of Crème Brûlée, Tarte au Citron, and a light Madeleine sponge with vanilla ice cream. Each component was a delight in its own right, and together, they provided a perfect ending to our meal. Overall, our experience was nothing short of exceptional. Here's to many more years of wonderful dining experiences. 🥂

Can I suggest trying the Mushroom Sourdough starter for £7.50? This consists of a small slice of sourdough bread, a light brown sauce and in my case about 3 strips of fried mushroom. The menu says, shiitake mushrooms. Note the use of the ‘s’ suggesting a number of mushrooms. The truth was there was hardly any shiitake mushroom at all! No wonder vegetarians get frustrated when they eat out.. The entertainment started about halfway through the the meal, when a young guy wearing a baseball cap arrived off the street. For about 5 minutes we were subjected to a rant about ‘finding God’ and repenting our sins.. One part of me suspects this individual had been served mushroom sourdough on a previous occasion..

Last minute trip to Nottingham centre. Thought we’d try Pierre Bistro opposite John Lewis. Shown to a nice window seat upstairs. Ordered off their lunchtime menu. French onion soup and cream mushroom on sourdough bread: Arrived fairly promptly. Both dishes liked cold, you can tell!! Waitrose away very quick. Tried my mushrooms to check how hot. Not even luke warm. Same with the soup. Eventually tracked down the waitress. Asked for, and specifically ask for them to be hot, replacement dishes. Round two: just the same, this time the soup looked like the dregs off the bottom but still not even luke warm. Packed up and offered to pay for the water we’d had. Manager seemed very in concerned clients were walking out. Didn’t quite get the disappointment of 4 dishes not being anywhere near hot enough to serve. Credit though, we had a glass of water on the house. Must try harder (in the kitchen anyway)

My food was delicious and our waiter was very nice, but the welcome at the door was frosty. May I suggest that once you've accepted my deposit and confirmed my pre-orders, if you then think there is an issue with my booking and you haven't tried to contact me about this, then this should be the restaurant's problem and not mine, and my guests and I should be warmly welcomed into the restaurant? Friends of mine who arrived before me (and who were assumed to have made the booking) were horrified at how they were received. Please don't add stress like that to anyone's day. I'm a long-standing customer but unfortunately I'm not likely to come back. I've already left a version of this comment on the restaurant's internal review system after being asked to submit a review. It's a shame no one responded to that - would have been nice to hear something back.

We had a really nice time celebrating Mother's Day here. Our server, Roi, was especially lovely and made sure to check in on us frequently to make sure we were happy with everything! The food was a little overpriced in my opinion, but can't fault the service or the great atmosphere.

Me and the Mrs popped in on the off chance we could get a table before that Micheal McIntyre concert and they managed to squeeze us in and the waitress came over and said I" hear you guys need guys need to get out soon because you've got the Micheal McIntyre concert" so we ordered and 10 minutes later the mains came and then were lovely, we even had chance to have desert. Couldn't have asked for better service .

Been here many times in past before lockdown . Went today will never go again absolutely awful food. My husband had the burger which was stone cold my rissoto was absolutely flavourless I’ve seriously never tasted a rissoto so rank. No one seemed interested when we mentioned it . Will never go back this place has gone right downhill. Looking around at other tables it just looks liked microwaved food . No apologies no customer service . No thanks.

Have been to this restaurant many many time in the past. Always liked the little classy touches that made it a special experience. We arrived and sat downstairs when we were told we were going to be upstairs which we prefer. No french bread brought to the table. No more specials. The menu was printed on an A4 piece of paper. The waitress seem to be in a hurry to get out order we had to request a few more minutes 3 times. I had no complaint about the food it was lovely but the little touches were that always made your night special in the past were gone. It seems that that the manager is concentrating on cost savings. I raised this with the manager privately and he decided to approach our table and have a debate about it and became defensive in front of other guests which I felt was very unprofessional. So Bistro Pierre has become a standard French restaurant rather than the classy, special venue that it once was. Very dissapointing!

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Nottingham. The atmosphere is great, it’s always lively and busy. We had the menu Pierre which is 3 courses £22.95 | 2 courses £18.95 . Their steak frites are amazing. The children’s menu is great too, good selection, nice food and big enough for older children.

We went for the lunch deal - we used to go regularly/before a matinee at the theatre but hadn't been for a considerable time as one of the party had said that the standard had dropped. Notwithstanding, we decided to give it a go in the hope that there had been improvements. The lunch deal was always popular but they seem to have squeezed even more tables in downstairs which made it very difficult to manoeuvre round the tables and the gap between the tables was so small, we may as well have all been on the same table! It was impossible not to overhear the conversation of the adjacent tables and it also made the dining area very loud and quite overwhelming. Turning to the menu, you no longer get a complimentary bread basket. There were fewer items on the menu in the lunch deal to choose from than previously. We all ordered the pork medallions and dauphinoise potatoes (this had ways been a firm favourite). When the dish came, it was actually just sliced meat and definitely not a medallion with crispy outer. The potatoes were most definitely not dauphinoise - it was just a square of sliced potatoes - they were dry, there was no creamy garlic sauce and they were tasteless and stodgy. The accompanying leaf of hispi cabbage was virtually raw. A very disappointing dish. We did have dessert but by that time we felt that we were being pressed to pay the bill and leave as the second sitting of diners were coming in and the place was virtually full....so we didn't have coffee or anything. We felt that the food was poor value for money mainly due to the above issues - we'd rather pay a bit more and get what was actually described on the menu! We've had better food from the students training in the college restaurant! On a positive, the waiting staff were very nice and helped sort an issue with the new App and were very patient with us. We always leave a tip but we're surprised to see that 10% service charge had automatically been added to the bill even though there were only 3 of us! I doubt we will be back sadly

Mixed feeling 😕 I'm not really sure how should I describe my visit in Bistro today... didn't dine here for a while and always was satisfied. Now, some of the staff looked a little bit lost and bored or totally out of control. Servers are running around while bartenders are watching, like I assumed after conversation with my boyfriend, some football match. Little disrespectful towards customers. 😒 sure will stay away from this place for a while…

This was our second trip to the restaurant and our expectations were generally met in almost every area. The onion soup was full of flavour. The chicken meal although nice was slightly underwhelming in taste. The 12 oz steak was an absolute highlight ( be warned it is a lot to consume along with the soup). The sticky toffee was nice and as it was my partner's birthday they done a nice job with the sparklers I provided. The resturant was quite full with others using the groupon options. It would have been nice to give my partner a complimentary birthday drink. The champagne in the glass when it was first bought was slightly flat and had to be returned which was slightly disappointing.
