I don’t bother writing reviews, unfortunately I’m lying awake in my hotel room trying to digest the terrible food I just ate. I’ve not had a burger this bad since the early 2000’s, it was worse than a frozen burger, from a burger van. In this day and age of smash burgers, it’s simply embarrassing that you could even put this burger on a menu. I’ve just Googled Nottingham burger restaurants and there are actual destination burger bars in the city with real rave reviews. The owners of this hotel restaurant should be ashamed of themselves, getting such a simple dish so very wrong, is either just plain stupid or completely ignorant. Although we didn’t try any other dishes, and given that the very nice waitress didn’t even ask us how we would like our burgers cooked, I do suspect they’re all just pre-prepared frozen dishes, warmed up in a microwave. “Bramleys Restaurant, the very best of British cuisine” what a load of old rubbish, I’m now dreading tomorrow’s hotel breakfast !!!

The welcome and service were amazing and a nice clean venue , but the food and coffee were unfortunately unpleasant and very expensive. Better food available frozen at supermarkets. Waste of £50. Sorry for the comments but they are honest.

Ate in the restaurant the food was absolutely amazing. The staff are a credit to the restaurant they are tentative professional and polite. Not only once but up to four times I was asked if everything was okay with my meal the service was second to none the staff could do enough for me asking if I wanted water or an extra alcoholic drink Food was served hot and in a timely manner I would even go as far to say that this team could run a five star restaurant with out even getting phased. The best Christmas dinner I have EVER eaten outside of home, bar none. Lovely, helpful staff working together to serve outstanding food. Thank you. Also, I’m dairy free and I could eat just about everything. Delightful!

Regular customer at Bramleys. Staff are always super friendly and one of the reasons I return frequently. Only suggestion I would have is to change up the menu every 4-6 weeks to keep it interesting for regular guests. Keep us the good work guys.

Enjoyed a delicious meal in Bramleys this evening to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were greeted and looked after by Denzil who was exceedingly courteous, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Thank you for your kind gesture which added to our enjoyment of the evening.

We had lunch here in Sep 2023 and the food took an age to come and when it did it was barely warm. They had plenty of staff around so I’m not sure what the deal is.

Absolutely fantastic meal. We had 3 courses for 3 people. The staff were all so friendly and attentive. Every course was delicious - the chicken supreme, goan curry and all the desserts were absolutely amazing! We will be back and would highly recommend.

Visited the brasserie while staying at the hotel. The service was excellent, staff very friendly, food lovely. Not sure why the previous reviews were saying it was so poor. My husband and I enjoyed our visit and would certainly recommend to anyone.

After reading some of the reviews I had some reservations about booking a table in the Brasserie, but was pleasantly surprised by both the food and service. The only thing missing was background music to improve the ambience. Would recommend people try it for themselves.

Although it is very rarely full, this place never manages to deliver food on time. And if you do receive a meal, it is invariably bland and cold. It wouldn't be so bad if the prices weren't so eye-watering.

Visited Bramley's for a business lunch and it was not an experience I wish to repeat in a hurry. Service was incredibly poor, although it wasn't very busy. There seemed to be plenty of waiting staff around but they were all just congregating around the front desk rather than taking orders or asking people if they wanted more drinks etc. When our order was finally taken, it took over an hour for the food to arrive. The Greek salad was ridiculously overpriced and the dressing and the bread we ordered with it did not arrive until we were almost finished. Due to the food being so late, some of us had to move meetings in the afternoon. I did complain to what seemed to be the floor manager but felt rather fobbed off. There was no real solution offered and we were just being told that next time would be better. I felt incredibly sorry for all the students and their families who had chosen to come to Bramley's after Graduation, I do hope it did not spoil their day too much. I for one won't rush back...

Overpriced, barely average food (had to send cold chips back to the kitchen) and food generally tasted bland for dinner. When I asked what was in the vegan burger, the waiter said they don't know and didn't bother to find out. Hotel breakfast was sad with par-boiled mushrooms. Overall very disappointing, especially given the price you pay!

Magnificent food, staff couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend the arancini balls!

Stroeve ontvangst en bediening. Je voelt je niet echt welkom. Beperkte kaart met voornamelijk gefrituurde en aziatische gerechten. Dan maar een vegetarische pizza gegeten, deze was OK. De wijn was goed. Redelijk prijzig.

Excellent add on facility for this hotel. Being able to get a choice of food all day is a definite marketing advantage. good choice for all day dining. Try the Crispy Chilli Beef.

E' il ristorante dell'hotel De Vere Orchard,immerso nello splendido parco della zona universitaria di Nottingham.La scelta non e' immensa ma i piatti sono curati e molto ben presentati.Le tavole sono molto pulite e ben apparecchiate,unico neo la mancanza di tovaglia,che sicuramente non e' sinonimo di igiene al 100%.Le ragazze che vi lavorano sono cortesi e sorridenti.La mia segnalazione positiva riguarda soprattutto una piacevole sorpresa e cioe' il menu kids:due vere e sostanziose portare per 7.50 sterline,prezzo al quale in uk spesso e' difficile compare un tramezzino..

Basic menu and cooked well but they need to change it more regularly as a little limiting if you are staying every week. Ordered pizza , which is unlike me, but fell for the "fresh basil leaves' , unfortunately they were completely absent! On asking where they were they exclaimed, "oh no they are in the tomato dressing " only they most definitely were not. That was irritating at best and just plain stupid to treat your customer as if they have no brain cells at all, if they had just told the truth, i.e. they had run out, I would have understood and ordered something else.

The main course menu was mostly curries, burgers, salads or pizzas and what we had was well cooked and presented and tasted good. The desert menu was very disappointing- a chocolate pudding, icecream and sorbets or cheese. The cheese plate didn't have everything on it listed in the menu. Our waitresses we lovely, they were very busy and as a result service was slow but they were cheerful and efficient.

When we got there they said we hadn’t booked. We ordered a bottle of wine, half an hour later they came back saying they run out of the wine, 10 min after the waitress returned with a bottle of said wine. Ordered appetisers, they took almost 1 hour to get to us after complaining 3 times, once arrived they were not hot. The main course took almost 2 hours to arrive, again had to complain several times, luckily that was hot, although the top of my rice was clearly dried out. We were next to teenagers (some sort of summer school) very noisy and messing around as teenagers do. Still the restaurant should have placed them in a function room and not next to full paying customers, I don’t blame the teenagers at all. I felt very disappointed as this has been the worst dining experience we have had for a very, very long time. The waitress worked extremely hard, I don’t feel that any of this is her fault. Not what you want after celebrating your child’s special day

Desayuné dos veces. Primero estuvo bien, segundo, el personal no pudo satisfacer la demanda. Mesas no despejadas a tiempo para nuevos invitados. Retraso en conseguir bebidas, sin vasos o platos para algunos elementos de buffet.El personal individual era excelente, educado, servicial pero sobrecargado.

Sadly our experience at the Bramleys Brasserie at the Orchard Hotel was not a good one. We were having a celebratory evening meal prior to my daughter’s graduation at the University of Nottingham. The service was extremely slow and some of the food served was tepid and sub-standard. We sat down as booked at 7.30pm but did not leave the restaurant until 9.45pm. Waiting staff were pleasant enough but seemed to be poorly managed and did not even know the table plan. The time between ordering and first course and then first and second courses was too long. I had to ask where our desserts were after waiting for 30 minutes for them. Two of the four main courses we ordered were tepid/cold and all the chips were stale. I raised these issues with staff but received no explanation or recompense. Our celebratory meal was spoilt by this experience and I could not, based on our experience, recommend this restaurant to anyone.

My steak was not bad but my wife's burger was awful. Salty, thin and burnt. Would not go back but as a meal in a moderate hotel, you could not complain, just would not go back.

Excellent restaurant within the hotel at Nottingham University campus. Wonderful ambiance great staff delicious food. Enjoyed evening meals during a stay for a conference. Highly recommended

I was shown to my table very quickly and given a choice of seats. I asked for the early bird offer that I had seen on the TV in the room, the gentleman serving said he would come back to me. Some of the team seemed to be searching in the cupboards for the menu, however he came back after 3-4 mins and explained what it was. My drinks order was brought over quickly and I asked to order, this was repeated to me and was cooked quickly. The standard of food was very good, except for the peppercorn sauce which tasted ok but was very runny.

Fairly limited choice. Tasty food (apart from the rock hard avocado pieces in the salad!) but not that generous portions. Slow cooked lamb with mash, mushrooms & broad beans - delicious but tiny amount of sauce, mushrooms & broad beans. Friendly waitress. Breakfast was excellent!

La prima sera sono andato a questo ristorante in quanto ospite dell'hotel. Eravamo in 8 persone e, malgrado quasi la metà dei tavoli fosse libera, all'ingresso ci hanno detto che la cucina era "very busy" e che avremmo dovuto attendere. Alle 21:15 ci sediamo e ordiniamo. Dopo circa un'ora, a ristorante praticamente vuoto, sollecitiamo le portate e ci viene detto di pazientare in quanto avevamo fatto un "grosso ordine". In realtà degli 8 ospiti, 3 erano bambini e ognuno aveva ordinato una sola portata. Finalmente arrivano i piatti ma....si dimenticano di 3 portate! Su 8 che ne dovevano fare..... La qualità del cibo era nella media, ma il servizio veramente molto scarso.

I usually avoid hotel restaurants - captive audience, no reliance on repeat local custom and thus overpriced and lack of care. Well, Bradley’s didn’t disappoint in this respect . Daughter’s chicken thigh dish for £14 was 2 dry and tasteless (probably warmed up) thighs and some leaves; my pork dish was ok if unspectacular. We were offered a free drink when we pointed out that chicken dish was poor and daughter had only managed part of one thigh but really should have been offered to knock the dish off the cost. Note that an 8oz steak was £24, yes £24...

Disappointing. Food was not what expected. Overpriced and service was not the best

Perhaps to be expected as its connected to the hotel, with almost no competition nearby, but the prices were particulary steep for what you get!

As mentioned in my main review, the situation at breakfast is a complete joke. Some proper management of staff urgently required. Oh - and the coffee is awful!

Bramleys staff offered excellent service over the 2 weeks of our stay. Nothing was too much trouble and service was always with a smile and warm welcome.

Meal took 2.5 hours overall with it taking 1 hour to receive starter. Asked for tap water 4 times before it arrived. Despite having paid for dinner on dinner, bed and breakfast package with hotel, the restaurant did not have this information and charged us for meal which we then had to speak to them about. Very poor experience.

To be classed as party of the 4* hotel facility they need more staff and trained to 4* standards. ~Food is ok and the experience Manageress needs more staff and more training time for the operation to become very good.

As we were staying in the hotel we decided to dine in Bramleys. We had a very pleasant experience, the menu had some good choices and the restaurant itself had a good atmosphere. Our waitress Karishma ( apologies if spelling is incorrect), was warm, friendly and funny and took care of us very well. The manager Chris was very informative on the wines available and helped us in our decision.

The food in innovative and delicious. My starter of smoked salmon with an amazing non traditional cole slaw was insane and my main of the cod with samphire was so tasty I'd be happy eating it at least once a week. The service is top notch, friendly and welcoming we felt looked after the entire meal. I would suggest trying this restaurant if you are in the area not just because you're staying at the lovely Orchard Hotel. Seriously I'd make this my local if I lived in the neighborhood.

It was our anniversary and were staying at the hotel. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the food was good, hot and presented well. Nothing too much trouble.

The dessert menu is very limited and both desserts were nothing special. Very small portion as well. Starters of wings both choices not that great. Main of steak was ok could be better. Even though we booked for anniversary it was not even noted so didn’t feel special. Other places make a bit of an effort for an anniversary.

We were staying at the hotel the night before our daughters wedding and we booked 26 of us in for dinner. They were really helpful about times and ordering but I told them I needed everyone to be able to eat whatever they wanted (they suggested as it was a big group a set menu pre ordered) in the end we came up with booking several tables all spaced out over 30 mins. In the end it took so long to get everyone together we ALL arrived at the same time ( and 10 mins after the latest booking) we told them we understood there would be a wait as this was our fault. They took our orders with a smile and we had no wait time, the food was delicious and tasty, the waiters were helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend them.

We have dined there twice in the last couple of years whilst staying at the hotel for graduation ceremonies. On both occasions we have been somewhat disappointed with the service in the brasserie, finding it slow and rather disorganised.

Food was excellent but service was considerably slow - be prepared to wait - yes, the place was busy, the hotel/restaurant would have known about the busyness due to rooms being booked in advance but they were not prepared and no extra staff had been brought in

We had an informal business dinner for three in one evening and ordered the main courses. Although the food was served relatively quickly, they have forgotten the food for one of the guests, so we had to wait for him for nearly 10 minutes. While doing so, our food became cold. The waiter did not even notice that the order was not complete when he served the food. The restaurant requires a better customer training to attend tables.

We each had three courses and I have to say, we all commented on how lovely the food was. Compliments to the chef please. I think the Bramleys burger could have been more special, with perhaps a bit of coleslaw or side salad, as it looked very ordinary when it was delivered, but everything else we had that night was outstanding. Unfortunately the ambience was non-existent as we were there the same time as you were hosting a youth hockey tournament, so the children spoiled the atmosphere with their noise!

Whilst the food here was really good, and we ate here three times, the standard of service was superb. On quiet nights and one that was manically busy the staff were friendly and incredibly well organised. One of the best places I have eaten in a while.

We stayed at the hotel whilst holding an even at the adjacent EMCC and had dinner here one night.

I was visiting with a conference, the restaurant was very busy and seemed unable to handle it. The pizza I ordered had mould all over the base!! I checked the pizza was interest as after I ordered I had seen a pizza being sent back, therefore I was shocked they even served mine, it was totally unedible. There was not enough water jugs so we were left without water for the first hour. The staff didn't seem that surprised or bothered about any of this. Would not return or recommend.

Food at the brasserie is very nice and you get a good choice from the menu to suit all tastes. Service is a little slow but that could be me not relaxing enough from work pace!

Dined at the restaurant whilst staying in the hotel and needed a bite to eat without venturing far from the hotel. Ordered the burger (switching out skinny fries for fat chips). It came relatively quickly. Was not too big, not too small. Flavour was good with tomato and cheese (extra cost). Was just a good burger, not my most memorable but good enough for a quick dinner. Usual hotel price list. Staff were friendly and efficient. If dining in the hotel, menu has some variety to suit most tastes and worth a look.

The food is very good, the breakfast is to die for, the staff do a very great job, keep it up. Very good atmosphere all round.

Choose to stay at the hotel as we had been out all day and had tried to get tables elsewhere but were unable to. It was ok but I would not chose to eat there again. Firstly they were only using part of the restaurant so people were put on closely positioned tables. Then our starters were taken to the wrong table.Hence we had quite a wait. Asked for some water - we’ll actually had to ask twice. Mains were nice but the cheese had been missed off my salad and I had to ask. The sweet we had tasted nice but was not worth the price. Banoffee Pie - a small circle of biscuit base with what appeared to be a blob of tinned toffee sauce, a couple pieces of fresh banana and a squirt of cream. Although the chocolate sorbet was very nice. I expected more quality. The staff were nice and helpful.

Stayed at the Orchard Hotel for 2 nights and had all my meals at Bramleys (Bramleys is the hotels on site restaurant), and I found the food excellent. I am vegan and although there was only one option for vegans at each meal time (I had breakfast lunch and dinner there) each was excellent and very tasty. The curry was delicious and spicy (with brilliant special mushrooms) and the salads were fresh with lots of ingredients to keep them interesting (not just leaves). I would love to stay ar the Orchard hotel again and would definitely eat at Bramleys

The brasserie is part of the Orchard hotel and serves a diminishing variety of dishes. The salads are well prepared and provide a healthy option. Burgers and pizzas also available, and are better than average. They seem to have reduced the menu in favour of pizza varieties over the past 12 months.

The food was excellent and the location to my hotel could not have been more convenient. I ordered the steak pie and thought it was very good. The service was friendly, although they were quite attached to their rules for making reservations. We were staying at the hotel, and there were plenty of tables open, but they made us wait about a half hour to be seated since we didn’t have reservations. Nobody else was seated before we were, so the wait was a bit ridiculous. The service was very good other than this.

Bramley's is a cafeteria style restaurant..we ate breakfast here and it was plentiful...very hot and well presented.. it's self service..with tea and coffee in thermos jugs served by staff as you are seated

Nice food but let down by poor service, didn’t receive our first drink until end of main course, offered water never arrived, no cutlery on table, asked for sauce never arrived, 3 members of staff working only 4 tables dining at the time, overpriced and left dissatisfied , visited Friday 15th December 8pm.

Bethany’s service was outstanding, I initially met her on the Monday evening at the bar and I’ve seen her throughout week.

Insofern vielleicht nicht die erste Wahl, wenn man gepflegt essen gehen will, aber durchaus ansprechend für die Verpflegung während eines Hotelaufenthalts. Die Küche ist britisch und - doch, das geht! - lecker, aber einigermaßen hochpreisig.

Took dinner on night of stay. The grilled hake was perfectly cooked, with chorizo and black olive sauce and spinach. Nice combination of textures and flavours. Warm cherry bakewell tart and cherry ice cream rounded off the meal. Good selection of mains, including pizzas and pastas and grills. Good wine list, prices a few pence cheaper than in many hotels. Friendly service.

I ate here once on business recently. My colleague had the chicken tikka kebab which was good, I had the hake which was equally good. There is a nice choice of other food on the menu. The food prices are reasonable, prices for a glass of wine are on the high side. Overall good ambience and service.

We had two evening meals and two breakfasts here. Everything we selected was good quality. The menu is good and the prices, including a bottle of wine is very reasonable. Staff EXTREMELY friendly
