The best restaurants in Kegworth and Whatton North West Leicestershire East Midlands

Second time I’d been and have to say breakfast here is fantastic. Very good selection of food(s), drinks (hot and cold) and a brunch and dinner menu. Went for a full English (highly recommended) and a pot of tea both times. Nicely priced. Very good ambience with smooth chill out music. Fantastic service as well.

We had mushrooms on toast and also eggs Benedict followed by passion fruit cake, all very nice. Good coffee and excellent service, both staff very helpful. A good stop off the M1 for those who are tired of motorway services same old same old.

I visit this place regularly, the food is great, the staff are great! If you are local to Derby or Nottingham or are going to the airport, you have to swing by and grab a cake or a breakfast!

We stayed 4 nights in a very comfortable room with parking outside and very good disabled facilities. All the staff were superb, they couldn't have been more helpful. The food alone is well worth a visit!

Went to a charity event their hosted by a family member. Manager very rude didn't want to help very poor customer skills. Appalling behaviour. I asked if they had a knife to scrape toppings off my niece pizza she said no when l asked for a spoon or fork l was told no again then when l responded with my sister ordered food my young niece of 4 dont like the topping she huffed and puffed and said she had to go upstairs as the kitchen was upstairs then rudely harshly gave the knife to me. Even heard her moaning about us in the back room which was where the fundraising event was held. This is not the first time of going to this pub and being treated rudely and a spoken to with attitude by the manager. Other staff are lovely.

I come here every Tuesday night the food service atmosphere is so brilliant they are so welcoming very friendly people food just melts in your mouth this is not like the other road side cafe this place is so beautiful very highly recommended so come down to the road side cafe Kegworth and trust me you won’t regret it

Service was great, really attentive. Food was exceptionally good, especially the ham hock terrine! We devoured the Sunday roast, which was the tastiest Sunday roast I’ve ever had (along with the best Yorkshire pudding I’ve ever had the pleasure of trying). We ordered all of the three desserts, all amazing dishes and the rhubarb was my favourite. Props and kudos to the chef, Adam!

Birthday lunch today. Last minute decision Family party of 6 and well behaved toddler. Great food and friendly atmosphere. Thank you Zoe for looking after us. We will be back

I’ve had a great experience each time I have been in this pub. Myself and my little dog are welcomed by the friendly staff, the roast cobs on a Sunday are fresh and a super price, and the atmosphere has always been relaxed. The fire makes it feel cosy and the locals are a good crack. Keep up the good work here guys!

Had a wonderful meal here. We didn't book and we were made very welcome and a table was found. Service was so friendly and we were looked after throughout even though it was very busy. The food was simply amazing and very reasonably priced. We couldn't recommend this place enough - it was fabulous!

The Otter. Had a nice lunch, the food was good, although like most places now, it was a touch pricey. Staff were friendly and plenty of choice for drinks. The atmosphere was pleasant and comfortable and although it was raining when we went, the outdoor seating had great views overlooking the river. Would recommend

Attended a conference - WOTFLM 2025. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room I was in was very comfortable. The food was good and flavoursome.
