Excellent food and friendly staff, ordered a large order take-away for collection and they gave us a couple of extra’s.

First time eating from here after recently moving to the village. Polite and friendly staff, clean establishment, and most importantly the food was beautiful! Lots of chicken in the curry and it was tender, good quality meat. Large portions. Thanks for a lovely meal. We will be back shortly.

The food in this place was soo good. It had been awhile since I have had Indian cuisine and was looking forward to it. I was not disappointed! The service was good too!

We opted on the early bird menu which was 3 courses of delicious food with lots of choice. Service was excellent and Abu was very attentive. We highly recommend visiting Zaika in Kegworth.

UPDATE: 3 months later from my original review below and we have now found time to eat in the restaurant. BRILLIANT - we have now found our new go-to Indian. Food was FANTASTIC and the service lovely, polite, friendly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE - they deserve to succeed. Takeaway so cannot really score for Service or Atmosphere but we picked it up and the staff were really polite and friendly - nice welcome smiles. The food was fantastic - really, really good. We will be back to dine in very soon Very happy to have this restaurant on our doorstep.

I was not happy with this meal from Zaika.I asked for lamb chops starter, but the meat wasn’t lamb chops it was some other part of the lamb. Very tough and didn’t taste good at all. The lamb curry I ordered was also tasteless, I know it was meant to be mild spice but it had no spice at all, no flavour. Also your delivery guy had transported it in a very bad way, everything had spilt out of the containers . So it was a mess to take things out of the bag. I am very disappointed.

We live in the village It was my wife and I first visit to the restaurant the whole experience was 100% from the efficient service to the presentation of the meal. The meal was very hot tasted gorgeous, excellent value not expensive at all. The restaurant was nice and clean. We shall visit again soon. Rod and Caroline.

Came here to eat on my own as I’d just finished work. The food was pretty good, however the waiter seemed a little off with me throughout. Got my bill and he was persistent on me paying cash when I said I only had card. Nevertheless got his card machine and the bill he’d written added up to £30.00. I thought there’d be a service charge (my food and drink totalled £22.35.. but £8 is a lot on that bill? So I wanted to double check. He said (and the cheque stated) it didn’t include any service charge. So I added up his numbers on a calculator in front of him and showed it to be £22.35… he said that I.. yes ME, must have done something wrong, came back from the till with a calculator saying I missed things and it was £24.50, to which I said ‘whatever I’ll just pay it’ and he laughed. No apology, no correction, just give me your money and get out was basically the reaction. Would not recommend simply for the fact he clearly tried to catch me out. The cash thing I understand, but not ripping people off.

it was just OK....chicken was alright, i have had much better sauces, but it wasn't terrible, pakora batter wasn't crispy ....chips rubbish, frozen soggy rubbish...

I've sat in for a meal and cannot fault it, beautiful food and service, however I ordered a take away, very very disappointed. Tough lamb chops, very red with food colouring, raw parathas and a pilau rice that was the colours of the rainbow. I was so very disappointed so I won't be having a take away from them again... Hope next time I go for a sit down meal, the quality will be as great as it always has been... Sorry guys

Wonderful to find such an excellent Indian restaurant here. The service is friendly and relaxed and the menu is extensive and varied although vegetarian options were a bit limited. The food is excellent - worth the wait at the busy time I was there.

We’ve had a lot of takeaways from here but it’s quite expensive, and they’re really stingy on the chutney trays. The food is ok, the meat is sometimes amazing and sometimes only average. For the cost I’d expect amazing every time.

Wasn’t the best to be honest, tiny Nann bread, the box of chips was tiny, yeah shame really, curry wasn’t very flavourful, the onion on the tray was rubbish no flavour at all

Great food and piping hot but my delivery instructions were ignored. I have trouble hearing so asked for a phone call rather than knocking on my door but he knocked anyway.

I ate here with friends midweek which is why we did not expect it to be busy (hence 4* for atmosphere). However, we were all pleased with our food and the service was impeccable. The restaurant is a pleasant place to eat and the prices are extremely reasonable. We would recommend 👌

Stayed in Kegworth for two nights , tried this place for a takeaway last night , lovely food , nice friendly staff , would definitely use this place again

The flavour of food was excellent. However when food arrived its was a mess spilt everywhere, they quickly got us another sent out but asked for the other food back which had already been thrown away due to the mess. When the new order arrived the main was incorrect ordered a prawn curry with potatoes but what I got was more like tandoori prawns. Overall a mixed experience

The restaurant delivered the someone else’s order to me by accident, rang them straight away when we realised - they apologised and told me they were re preparing my order fresh to deliver. It was worth the wait, really tasty food! Also your driver is really charming, thanks for rectifying the mistake! :)

Ordered through Just Eat tonight with a colleague.. A Dhansak and Mushroom rice as part of a larger order. Crap.. Seems like they loaded it with salt rather than sugar maybe.. Too salty to eat. Never again.

Firstly, this place is cash ONLY so make sure you have plenty before you arrive. There is a cash machine in the wall of the Co-Op next door, but no guarantee it will be working of course. We eat a lot of curry, so I think I'm well qualified to review such restaurants. Zaika is clean, warm and the staff are welcoming. The prices though are on the high side, so I expected something a bit special. Unfortunately, on that front, it didn't deliver. The food was OK. My dish was tasty enough, but the chicken tikka was a bit tough for my liking - it had obviously been cooked beforehand and reheated. The portions were definitely not large either. All in all I felt it was not good value for money and, whilst I may go again, I won't become a regular customer.

Just had our first takeaway from here, very average, I ordered chicken tikka madras, hardly any chicken tikka pieces, hardly any chicken in fact and it was not tikka either. Delivery driver was nice though.

All was good. You could have given us a few pompadoms complimentary though. As it was quite a good order.

Mains were delicious - as was the naan and garlic rice. Sides of lamp chops (tough) tiny samosas and oily bhajis spoilt the remainder of the meal sadly.

Food was actually pretty good but the service was atrocious. The app notified us the order had been delivered despite that not being the case - when I called to query, I was made to feel like a massive inconvenience, had to ask for an apology and was then hung up on!

I've used Zaika lots and had several separate issues - missing or incorrect items. The food is really good so I gave the benefit of the doubt each time. This order had an incorrect curry and naan delivered. I rang up and was told that next time I could have £30 off to make up for this and a note had been left on my account/address. When I rang next time to redeem this I was spoken to very rudely, told it couldn't be true as I didn't have the name of the person and the phone was put down on me. I'll never use Zaika again

Good portion sizes but unfortunately on this occasion the curry was very oily and bland, the bombay potato was also very bland. The rice, popodam and chapati was as expected. I would look past the lateness had the meal hit the spot. More than willing to give it another go though as the first meal I had was very good. Hopefully just a blip

The driver was told by restaurant to go to wrong hotel . So delayed our delivery quite a bit , so when did arrive with us was unfortunately luke warm , the food was good but not really as hot as should be

I love the food here but recently there's always a problem with the order. First, there was no onion bhaji as I had ordered. Next time, there were half the popadoms ordered. This time, the order was 25 mins late and the naan was wrong - it had chilli on it so for me it wasn't edible. It's a real shame as the food is great but the service is letting things down recently

Really poor, unfortunately. Order missing sundries, and the curry itself no better than a pre-packaged jar cooked at home. Really disappointing for the price. Would not order again.

Don’t order the Zika Special meat was chewy and just one Prawn loads of onion and loads of grease. Apart from that the other dishes were ok however a bit pricy. Will probably look elsewhere next time
