Nice place with plenty of parking and friendly staff. Just avoid at the school run time as the car park gets rammed with parents collecting the kids so access is limited

Drinks only. Nice village pub. Decent but not overwhelming choice of real ale. beer was well kept. The potting shed was a nice indoor outdoor space though could be improved with more comfortable seats.

Had a birthday function here on Saturday at the Newly Rennovated lodge, would highly recommend for any event! The atmosphere was amazing and the staff were as friendly as ever. Some great decorations too, which made for some memorable and picturesque photo opportunities.

Great fun and very enjoyable time in the lodge.

Called in for a drink. Very good service and well kept beer. Pub has a traditional feel but has a modern, tasteful extension which increases capacity.

This pub is a real "TARDIS", it looks small from the front, but has some new additions and a large seating space out the back, meaning there's plenty of space. They had an excellent selection of well kept real ales, priced at between £4.00 & £4.20 a pint- unheard of if you're from the south! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful too. Well worth a visit if you're staying in the town at the local conference centre hotel.

Business room hire The private room outside is perfect for business use. We hired it for a business training day and it was the perfect space. We were looked after from start to finish by Vanessa and her team there. We booked a buffet lunch as part of our meeting which was fresh and tasty. We will definitely be returning and making the most of the beautiful space.

Excellent pub from the moment we went in for drinks we felt welcome and seemed as if we were regulars, could not fault them. If you want a friendly welcoming pub go to the Red Lion you will not be disappointed, well done to all the staff.

The friendliest bartenders i have ever met in a pub, I was here with my friend on a trip and as we were asking around for recommendations on different places to eat at while we ordered our drinks, the bartenders were inclined enough to come to us personally and show us different location with pamphlets. The pub itself has a nice chill Atmosphere and is very clean and tidy, a good place to visit for drinks.

I take my grandad down when I'm looking after him who has altzhimers and dementia. Staff are always great with him

A great village pub with a pleasant atmosphere and eight hand pull real ales, including my all time favourite beer - Titanic Plum Porter! The beer is really well kept, the staff are friendly, the inside of the pub and the beer garden are really nice. If only all pubs were like this...

Lovely local pub with very friendly bartenders. Smooth fast serving and kind people. Love the extension with extra siting area and the outdoor benches are great on a warmer day. Darts available in 2 separate room if you are fancy a game.

Monday afternoon private function in the pub lounge. Seems like a great traditional local pub. I especially loved the choice of 7 excellent cask ales, most from the local microbreweries.

This is a proper local pub with a good selection of Ales and a warm, friendly atmosphere. There is plenty of parking space, always a bonus! We did not eat there on this occasion.

Popped in here a couple of times for a wine/ale. There is a nice big outdoors area, so given it was good weather we didn't spend any time inside. The staff seemed like a friendly bunch - I'd be happy to have it as my local back home!

We had our wedding reception here yesterday (March 18th) and it was amazing, Vanessa and the team were everything we could’ve asked for, the food was amazing and the whole team were lovely and welcoming and so friendly. It was a lovely reception and we couldn’t have asked for anything better for our special day! Highly recommend any functions to be had here🥰

Been coming to the Red Lion for years when visiting Kegworth in Nov. Always welcoming great beers and with the addition of the glass house theres always a seat to be had.

A really good local pub with good bar food and a wide range of beer at reasonable prices. They make an effort to do live entertainment and the owners always say hello. Dog friendly and worth a visit.

What a great British pub. Fantastic ales and great atmosphere. We are dog sitting for our Daughter and have discovered a really good local. Excellent draught beer, really friendly locals, what a great find.

Having visited a few times over the years was disappointed that the food is now limited to burgers and chips and not available lunchtimes. A reasonable choice of ales, but pub is not so cosy after refit a few years back.

Friend organised a walk with a R/L lunch stop. He had rang before hand and understood that a simple menu would be available at lunch time. When we arrived the barmaid informed us NO food. Could we go and purchase a sandwich to eat it with our beer - NO. Could we purchase a sandwich and eat outside with our beer - NO. Will we be returning and sampling more of the excellent beer -NO

Went to this pub while staying in Kegworth for a few days. Good pub food at a reasonable price. Good place to come if you like cask beer. Outside area is very nice and well kept. Landlord could do to smile a bit more though, looks grumpy most of the time, but well worth a visit.

Love this pub. It is beautifully decorated inside in a traditional style. The outside area is lovely and the standard of hygiene is excellent. Overall well maintained. The food is lovely and my husband loved the draught Vixen. The atmosphere is great and the staff and locals very friendly and welcoming too. Great beers, lovely blonde barmaid "4pm shift" with glasses, had the pub red lion t-shirt on. Fire was on, not sure if it was needed.

Needed to leave the airport hotel for a change of menu and found this local gem. Really friendly staff in proper British pub. Topped off with proper pub grub, and I do not mean as per spoons. Real homemade pie, with great chips. Worth every calorie. Will be back next week.

We visited this lovely little pub last night on the off chance and it turned out to be a perfect evening, the food was gorgeous and plenty of it, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, even sky the dog with the bow tie was a joy to be around, thank you to the guy at the bar who recommended breakfast too! If we are ever up from margate again we will be sure to return.

Good Sunday lunch, only 2 meat options, 3 starters, 3 dessert options, service bit patchy. Coffee not very good. Good real ales. Conservatory type space lovely to sit in and chill, warmer than the restaurant also. Would return.

Lovely real ale pub, near to East Midlands Airport with good car park so handy for East Midland Airport. Pity they only do food in the latter stages of the week. Well kept range of ales and snacks available plus decent coffee.

Tldr: great service, great beer, great space, sometimes too many young humans (not students, for a change!). Give it a whirl! This pub has been my nearest pub for the past 3 years and I haven't had chance to give it the love it deserves. Always quick service, a great selection of real ales and I've never felt that it's 'a local pub for local people', if you get me? They've recently had an outside area built which is fantastic, but on a number of occasions its felt a little like a creche as its (understandably) a good area for the kids to have a little more space. I get that, but if you want to enjoy your Dashingly Dark in peace sometimes inside is the only option, which is fine! Pretty sure it has a real fire too, which is a bonus when it's cold! Though that could have been a really boring dream, so don't quote me on it..

i'm a regular at the red lion,i love it,it's a great friendly place.Great choice of beers,lagers,etc.Staff are brilliant.Last week for the the first time i had sunday lunch with my daughter.I was very impressed.it's not lunch it's a 3 course sunday dinner (it was excellent),and they have a chef who knows his job,because he knows how to cook the veg & doesn't dip them & call it a fancy name.I will definitely be back for sunday dinner after xmas.

We were here at the very first Sunday lunch prepared by this new chef. He didn't disappoint. For starters I had the homemade leek and potato soup with a really thick slice of the most wonderful brown bread and butter. ( I don't even like brown bread, but this was lovely). The soup was perfectly seasoned and I drank every last drop! Next came the roast beef dinner. 4 thick slices of tender beef, homemade Yorkshire pudding, creamed and roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower cheese and red cabbage. The gravy was really tasty and it came in its own little jug so you can add as much or as little as you like. Feeling completely stuffed after this we asked if we could delay the pudding for about 30 minutes. This was no problem at all. So..... onto the pudding. I had the homemade fruit crumble and custard. Delicious. I am definitely going to return, and would urge anybody reading this to come and enjoy a meal here. The waiting staff were attentive and did a really good job. Nothing was too much trouble and they coped really well considering the almost full restaurant. Well done

Having just experienced a superb, and tasty Sunday lunch, with huge portions from a well thought out menu, we can't wait to go back. Thank you to all the staff at The Red too.

When empty happy to take your money, made the mistake of visiting when busy, sat down just after 8 at a table that said reserved till eight - asked to move 10 minutes later very abruptly by I’ll mannered staff - offered alternative in glorified smokers shelter outside - obviously just for regulars, travellers beware

We were visiting the area & popped in to try the Wednesday Special: Pizzas. Were very nice & especially enjoyed their timber outdoor space.
