The Cafe On The Corner in North West Leicestershire

Wouldn't go here. Totally unwilling to help out non locals or other local businesses. Was passing through and as had never been in the area before I was blindly looking for a breakfast with zero knowledge of where to go. Came across this cafe and popped in hoping to obtain a hot sandwich. It soon became apparent this wasn't an option aften being told abruptly that they stopped serving breakfasts (breakfast times advertised on the windows or door would be nice) . However the worst part was when we politely explained we wasn't local and did they know where we could find said sandwich locally (to what I guess is the owner). He processed to throw his hands out sideways and declare he had no knowledge or ability to help us out and of course another independent local buisness. Turns out he must have known there was a second cafe some 3 or 4 doors away on the opersite side of the High Street. So thankfully Cafe 66 managed to serve me instead. I won't ever try this place again if he is unwilling to push buisness to other cafes once he has stopped serving perticular menu items, especially when I believe it was clear I was not interested in anything else he was now serving. Hopefully he will read this and make appropriate changes to his attitude so others don't have the same experience. Edit (follow up to owners reply). Thank you for confirming all points I made in my review. I am baffled to see you continue your unpleasant nature though. You are correct as stated I wanted a breakfast sandwich and no I didn't want coffee or any of the what I would class as pub food offerings you was now selling. However I fail to remember you even attempting to sell me other options and yes you didn't even suggest I try over the road which was rather unfriendly to other local businesses as I stated in my initial review. You can report my review all you like, but by thinking you are guaranteed to hide my experience due to receiving a 1 star review is no guarantee and in fact you have confirmed I did attend you cafe and thus it is far from a fake or hateful smear. Furthermore all you are doing is showing your unwilling to hear fair opinions. I have gathered from other reviews you have only just taken over this buisness in recent months and thus all I can hope is this is a mistake due to a sharp learning curve for yourself

Fab café on Measham High St. I popped in for a quick bite to eat and the service was really friendly and super fast!

It was my first time in Measham today and I had the chance to eat from this lovely place. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed a mocha and a Vegetarian Chilli Breeze Wrap. It was so good that I wished the portion was bigger. Also, I really want to know what type of cheese they use in it because it was delicious! I would definitely visit them again if I ever come to Measham.

Excellent value and great food.

Lovely breakfast. I had veggie one. Couple of tables outside so dog could sit with us. Nice clean toilet too. Good value, I can recommend.

A local no frills cafe just good value a d flavors

A little oasis that covers everything you would find at a larger premises except with a more personal touch and excellent products and to die for cakes.

This cafe is tiny. tiny but it provides a decent venue. The menu is quite cheap but portions quite small. The coleslaw was lovely and creamy but the paninis not very full. There is a daily roast dinner for £6. Service was speedy.

Just add a sausage Sandwich. The sausage was burnt no butter on the bread was dry as anything worse sandwich I’ve ever had and for £3 I go to a different café all over the UK with my job, and I like I said I would never come to this one again

Always great quality home cooked food. Mrs had turkey I had roast pork dinner. Followed by mince tart and custard. Great fresh veg, not stewed, great meat crackling mmmm, service ..they care and are good .

Excellent espresso, pastries, hot chocolate, location, and ambiance. This coffee shop is indeed a great place to kill your time, do business, and to study as well. The coffees and hot chocolates they had was so delicious. The owner was so welcoming and friendly. The place was so cozy. The decorations were so cute.

Had lunch at The Cafe on the Corner today. Top quality, good sized portions, reasonable price, friendly atmosphere. Plus we bought cakes to take away. All good.

Came across this cafe as we went to drop our dog at the groomers. So we went back and had our breakfast here. Small cafe but very clean, staff friendly, and breakfast was really lovely and tasty. Was surprised at their menu for a small cafe. They do dine in and takeaway, wraps, Yorkshire pudding wraps, roast of the day, paninis. Whilst we were there it soon filled up and the takeaway side was very busy. A new favourite. Will not wait until the dog goes to the groomers for another visit!!

Lovely friendly place with good food - small but perfectly formed!

We had missed lunch everywhere else on our route across country, but at 2pm we were delighted to be found some hot roast here in a bap. It couldn't have been tastier, or the staff kinder.

Small and cosy, just my type of place with a cracking full English breakfast at a great price.

Very clean Interior nice bright colours , staff very friendly & helpful ordered coffee full English breakfast with toast the only thing I for to mention was I liked my bacon well done still never mind I cleaned the plate , value for money with coffee included would recommend this place anyway. Try there homemade cake very tasty.

Called in to Measham as daughter works nearby and suggested The Corner Cafe for a lunchtime meetup. Quality, Value, Friendly, Flexible… it’s a pleasure to write positive reviews after we all enjoyed an excellent breakfast. Disappointed to be short of time and had to miss out on those tempting desserts! 😋… next time! We are in Derby but determined to get back to Measham to check out if the cheesecake is as delicious as it looks! 😉 (Think I know the answer!) Highly recommend… Thank you!

We called on our way to Cheltenham and called in for Breakfast. It was excellent in a lovely spotless cafe with really friendly Staff. The people of Measham are so very lucky to have such a brilliant place on their doorstep.

Without a doubt the best full English breakfast I’ve ever had (twice) and I have had a few. First visit in July on way to The Belfry Golf course second one today on way to Cheltenham races from Sheffield. The BellyBuster on both occasions was perfectly cooked, fresh and the quality of the ingredients were clear to see. The food was first class n both occasions and service impeccable. Every time I will be passing on the a42 from Sheffield I will be calling in.

Sitting outside now with a very tasty coffee & lovely bacon roll. It's full inside, so obviously very popular, and I can see why.

Treat after our Covid vaccine. Lovely clean modern cafe with nice friendly staff following all the Covid guidelines to keep you safe. Delicious granary roll with sausage and crusty white roll with bacon . 2 cappuccinos made 2 happy customers . We will be back another time to sample the yummy looking cakes . Nice to support a local cafe who obviously takes a lot of pride in their business.

I found this cafe whilst in Measham on business. It has a modern frontage, and staff were friendly and Covid-19 compliant. Great coffee, I had a homemade sausage roll which was probably the best I've tasted in a long time. Reasonably priced, and it comes recommended,

What you get is two thin cold, undercooked, fatty rashers of bacon and one sausage ... for £3 Contrast this with any of the many roadside cafes that are within 5 mins drive. There you get decent bacon, trimmed of fat, cooked to your liking, plenty of it m, it’s hot and there are two sausages for £3. I know it’s only a bacon sandwich but they are unpleasant on top too.

My experiences are not rare, they do skimp on the portion and can do better. I hope they at least try to improve.

Good breakfast and coffee. Can't complain given the prices, lovely staff and nice food. It's never going to be stunning as it's a good old fashioned, albeit its modern decor, cafe for an early morning breakfast or lunch if you work near by. Parking can be a pain too if there are no spaces around the back of Tesco.

We fell upon this lovely little cafe on a miserable Monday lunchtime. What a delight. We both chose the roast of the day. It was delicious and brilliant value for money at £4.95! The roast pork melted in the mouth, the roast potatoes were cooked to perfection along with a tasty selection of fresh vegetables, mashed potatoes and delicious stuffing. I don't like stuffing, but I ate every bit of this one. Well worth a visit.

I visit my mum in Measham quite regularly, and found this gem of a cafe. The breakfast baps, and meals, have now become a guilty pleasure. The food and coffee are always excellent quality and value for money; the staff are always polite and friendly. If you have any special requirements they will try to accomodate. The premises are always clean and tidy. I'm trying to think of negatives, but I can't - they are just that good at what they do; it is an oasis of calm in a hectic day.

Like another recent reviewer, I was on my travels and getting late for lunch. I have a taste for homemade mushroom soup and this was my lucky day. For a mere £2.75 to eat in, this passed all my tests for freshness, flavour, focus on the main ingredient and seasoning. The number of regulars and clients who came in so late after 2pm spoke volumes.

I was in Measham to meet a business contact and we met at this cafe for a late breakfast. The food was great quality and the service prompt and polite. Can't praise this place too much.

We stumbled across this cafe looking for lunch at almost 2:30 one afternoon.Although the cafe closed at 3 pm, they were very helpful in serving us and providing some tailored sandwiches: an open-faced tuna sandwich with a side salad, and a cheese granary bap.Hot meals also served.I would recommend this for the helpful service and the nice food.

Never visited before, quick and easy service. The breakfast cob I ordered was absolutely banging, the cob was actually large enough for the ingredients, not overly greasy so I don’t feel grim after eating it. The sausage, egg and bacon quality were excellent yet the price was fair. Would deffo recommend and I would happily come again when I’m in the area.

Top munch n fast service, washed down with a smashing cuppa .. Just what the Dr ordered.

Absolutely love this place. Always friendly always delicious, always freshly cooked. The Breakfast Burger is a marvel to behold. Hey, don't tell everyone as there are only a dozen seats plus four at the counter.

I use this cafe quite often. Usually I have their roast pork lunch with crackling!! It is excellent with tasty gravy and fresh crunchy veg. Great friendly service.

Called in for lunch close to closing time on a Bank Holiday Saturday. We were made very welcome. The menu has a good mixture of dishes to chose from and at a very reasonable price.

Perfect. I had half an hour to waste at 8am. Simple tea and toast was perfect. All the other food looked very tempting.
