The best restaurants in Portland Mansfield East Midlands

Generally really good place, very much enjoyed the food, really nice place, great interior and atmosphere, only negative with this place was the service, was a little slow but overall I enjoyed this place and would go again.

Truly awful. Cold pizza. Cold sausage rolls. Cold cheese slices. Cold everything. Complained to head office....they were even more useless than thus awful shop. Apparently Greggs serve everything cold unless you purchase when it's fresh out the oven. Don't be fooled by the lights in the display cabinet, it's designed to look like a hot hold but in fact everything in it is cold.

The place looks very inviting, traditionally decorated with a huge selection of cakes. Unfortunately the food that was served was very underwhelming, bland and basic, dumplings were greasy and tasteless, bacon and scrambled eggs just about cooked. even the cheesecakes we took away promised so much but delivered very little. The one saving grace was the sourdough bread, fresh and very good. Maybe we didn’t choose the right things? But probably won’t bother again.

The most unfriendly pub in Mansfield. We visited with friends as we were all staying for the football the next day. When we walked in the conversation stopped for all the locals to look at us. The unfriendly landlady informed us it was cash only and seemed irritated when we had cash. Drinks were poor no ice and spirits were watery, bottled beer was good. Decor is old and a bit tired like us! Our friend ticks pubs off on an app, we hadn’t realised phones weren’t allowed so the landlady appeared from nowhere to put her straight… we drank up very quickly and left. I genuinely can’t think of any reason you should visit, particularly when the other pubs in Mansfield are so friendly and welcoming even when they knew we were the opposing football supporters..

Went to nandos for evening. Was totally disappointed. Was met at the door with miserable girl.who wasn't overly friendly. Seated at a small table virtually on my neighbours lap! Could her all their conversation. Ordered food at the bar . Had the meal deal of full chicken. Sides. Drinks . £33.75 !!! Totally overpriced. Meal arrived 6mins later. Chips cold. Chicken was overcooked and very dry. Full of tiny bones. The waitress never came back to check everything was OK. Until we finished the meal. . Wish I had gone to the bar now and complained. Worked all week for a rare treat and this was the outcome. Totally disappointed. Also I've worked 25yrs in catering. I know the rules and the work involved. But found appalling the waitress came and cleared the table next to us. She wiped the floor with the cloth . Then wiped the table With the same cloth!!!! . Food and hygiene gone through the window. Finished the dried up meal and then the waitress decides to come then as she needs the table for next customers. Asked if everything was OK with the meal. I said no not really. The chicken was overcooked and dry. Full of tiny bones. She just laughed and said sorry and ran of . Very bad standards. Scruffy. Overcooked. Overcrowded. Poor value for money. A really disappointing meal and experience. Won't ever return. Waste of a lot of money. !

Visited on St Patrick's day. Would not recommend. Very unsavory welcome. The bar maid was more interested in her phone than finishing pouring my pint of Guinness (it had settled a minute prior) Then the karaoke speakers were overly loud and distorted, we try to raise the issue and they give us hassle, and deliberately raise the volume to cause us discomfort. The karaoke staff were not friendly. If anything the woman looked us up and down like we were dirt. Then we get told if we don't like it go somewhere else. I didnt have the choice of where to go, my mother flew in from Ireland and this is where the group was. We get heckled and laughed at when I walk off. (I'm autistic and the volume was causing me discomfort, the entire pub was distorted) Would definitely no recommend! If anything I want this issue to be addressed. There was no need for the volume to be that loud in the first place, and no need to raise the volume if we tell them it's distorted and causing discomfort. Really am seriously upset with the way we were treated here. Like I say, I didn't have the choice of place, it was where the group was at the time. Would not recommend.

I was with my son and my ex, when we decided that we should have breakfast so we had the large breakfast but I ended up bringing mine home in a box because I couldn't eat it all but it was absolutely delicious. My son and ex ate most of theirs.

Just not right, the food was undercooked and the food was cold yet they refused to replace and wanted me to buy more food. How it even makes sense, flabbergasted! Fraud

Superb food..well wrapped to keep food hot also drinks to ensure no spillage!! Delivered on time but a lovely young man. We will come again thank you xx

Loud, annoying and irritating barmaid promised me a drink and even said it was 'on the house' yet she was never to be seen again, shocking appalling and frankly disgraceful service from the worst pub in town. STEER CLEAR

Always nice pizza and good service

Very quick and delicious. One of the staff members -Damyan was really friendly.

it took an hour to get here in a car and the fat man didnt even want the order code and didnt know what he was doing

Ordered through just eat and was missing a pizza that I paid for the extra crust on aswell. The desserts should of been warm but was cold! Called the restraint and they said go through just eat who have said it's Pizza Huts problem as I've gave the code to the driver who didn't give me 5 seconds to check before scurrying away. Pizza Huts customer service was terrible just wanted me off the phone and didn't want to help I asked him to provide evidence they had sent the pizza to aid me with my refund and said he would call back yesterday and still hasn't. Disgusting service and I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else
