The best restaurants in Castle Lincoln East Midlands

A small restaurant with very pleasant staff serving excellent vegetarian food. Near the top of Steep Hill and adjacent to the castle and cathedral, this is not a polished cafe and part of a large restaurant chain. It is a small venue where excellent vegetarian food is served. If you are looking for healthy food and a change from burgers and fries, then try Pimento.

Popped in today for delicious tea and cake , It was to say Thankyou to the kind young man and his mum who helped me out with a seat and water yesterday, as I was feeling Steep hill and post Covid symptoms yesterday. Genuine common sense and kindness . As you guys weren’t there please take this as my sincere thanks and a recommendation for fab cakes and teas !

I really enjoyed the ambience here - cosy, warm, relaxing, quiet - all which made for a pleasant dining experience. My starter (brisket croquettes?) was very tasty and had a beautifully crisp batter. I chose the braised beef for my main, which was an excellent choice as it too was very good. Tender, flavourful, and came with a well seasoned and cooked roast carrot. Desert was fine, I've had better banoffee pie but I've also certainly had worse. It had a slight shop bought feel to it, although thats not to say it wasnt homemade. My cocktail (passionfruit sour) also had a decent amount of alcohol in it and got me at a good level after just one which is always a plus. I'd highly recommend this place overall, fantastic food for the price (£23 for 3 courses) and a nice little venue! 83/100

I’m not a huge fan of marshmallow but loved the variety of marshmallow, drinks and the interior of this unusual shop on Lincoln’s beautiful Steep Hill. If you’re looking for a sweet treat it’s the perfect destination. Tried the hot chocolate topped with marshmallow. Heavenly!

Absolutely loving the new menus! So much to choose from and all sound amazing. The food was delicious and presented very well. Hats off to the chefs! The Restaurant was very clean and has a great atmosphere. All the staff are very friendly. Will definitely be returning.

Just DELICIOUS. It’s always hard to find a really good Chinese takeaway but look no further. Absolutely delicious food, full of flavour and not greasy. Great portions and great value for money. Winner

Haven't been here for a few years. We visited on a Friday at 5pm.The service was excellent and the meal was delicious and very filling. The staff were lovely really friendly. It has a nice atmosphere, there are good seating areas inside and outside . The car park is small but there is a public car park across the road. The Peacock is well worth a visit we will certainly be going again to try some of the other food on the menu.

Yet again very disappointing Chicken Madras,only taste was the BIR base gravy. No punch as no spice taste. Have had very good Chicken Madras in the past and couldn't fault it using Burton Spice for along time. This is the 3rd disappointing curry within months,definitely time for a change and reading other reviews must have different people cooking,definitely not good 👎

They don't take cash anymore only card so I walked out not having that.

Someone has done a wonderful renovation of this hotel probably costing millions. However the staff consist of youngsters with zero communication skills, zero manners and zero desire to serve clients. I took my two daughters and son there for dinner. The bar is waiter service only and drinks were slammed down with a bad attitude. I went into the restaurant to enquire about our table and five or six young staff were hanging around the bar in there and totally ignored ne standing there like a lemon. I decided to leave rather than endure anymore and one of my daughters also came with me. The other two stayed for dinner which cost £120 without drinks and they said the service was slow and poor but that the food was good. I will never go back and am amazed that so many people were there accepting this level of service.

Absolutely exquisite food. Was lucky enough to get a table on a quiet Saturday afternoon. Had the whitebait to start and the light bite haddock and chips. Best batter I have ever tasted. Service was polite professional and super friendly. Really recommend this place.
