The best restaurants in Castle Lincoln East Midlands

Realmente disfruté de nuestro almuerzo del domingo aquí. Grandes porciones de verduras bien cocidas y solomillo raro. El personal es amable y eficiente. Cómodos asientos y un buen ambiente.

We booked and this is advisable as even at 0930 on a cold Feb morning this quaint Gem nestled atop steep hill filled very rapidly with customers. We sat in the window and the young lady that served us was so friendly and helpful. Ordering a full English each we were not disappointed, a real M&S experience you might say reassuringly good quality at a good price. At first glance some might say different but with fruit juice, toast and jam/marmalade and tea or coffee all included in the price we were blown away. And as I said above the ingredients were of real quality thick bacon, meaty Lincolnshire sausages free range eggs. All cooked well and the coffee was better than any you’d get in a chain outlet. My wife isn’t a fan of sausages so swapped for bacon and she chose a house specialty one of their hot chocolate (recommend a try if you like such things). Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and although not the largest premises we were made welcome and un-rushed even though customer were flowing in thick and fast. The menu for all meal times looks varied and I dare say would be as delicious as our breakfasts. We will be back, we will book and I think next time it will be for afternoon tea these sound amazing.

A small restaurant with very pleasant staff serving excellent vegetarian food. Near the top of Steep Hill and adjacent to the castle and cathedral, this is not a polished cafe and part of a large restaurant chain. It is a small venue where excellent vegetarian food is served. If you are looking for healthy food and a change from burgers and fries, then try Pimento.

Popped in today for delicious tea and cake , It was to say Thankyou to the kind young man and his mum who helped me out with a seat and water yesterday, as I was feeling Steep hill and post Covid symptoms yesterday. Genuine common sense and kindness . As you guys weren’t there please take this as my sincere thanks and a recommendation for fab cakes and teas !

I cannot overstate how much I love this restaurant. It is me and partner’s favourite restaurant in Lincoln. Its fixed priced menu is an absolute bargain and their triple cooked chips are some of the best in the country. The service is impeccable. You can really tell the chefs put in a lot of effort to make the food taste delicious

Entre nosotros, venimos aquí todos los días. El equipo es tan bueno, educado, alegre y profesional. La ubicación es genial. ¡Ahora el café! Es fantástico. Super consistente también. Buena gama de bebidas, leches, jarabes, etc. Algo para todos. La ofrenda también es fuerte. ¡Los traseros de tocino son épicos! Galletas, pasteles, brownies, la lista va, todo tan fresco, casero y sabroso!

Visited for Mother’s Day with the family and had a fantastic afternoon. Food was delicious, most of us had the perfectly pink roast beef for mains. So nice to be offered horseradish without having to ask for it and I really liked that the vegetables were served separately. The starters sounded tasty, but we all decided we couldn’t resist the desserts and wanted to save ourselves for them. I had the Champagne sorbet Eton mess which was fabulous, whilst others had sticky toffee pudding or the chocolate mousse (or mouse as it was described on the menu!). The 2 young women who looked after us were lovely, really efficient an friendly and although it was busy, they were not at all rushed. The atmosphere was just right, busy with lots of families celebrating their mums and grannies, oh and I almost forgot the free glass of fizz given to us mums when we sat down! At £25 for 2 courses it was such good value. We will be going back very soon and will definitely be recommending it to everyone we know.

Was looking for a place to on my return trip from Mablethorpe,had no luck enroute so decided to drive though Lincoln, and found the peacock was welcomed in and had a great meal 😋 service was excellent, definitely recommend 👌

Pasé a comer algo. Precioso y limpio, gran ambiente cálido, comida sabrosa y bebidas calientes encantadoras. Personal acogedor. Instalaciones limpias.

Edit march 2025 last kebab not so good ,tonight's was mainly small scrappy pieces - lots of it lol oked like what I can describe non meat ( artificial looking) no taste and tontop it off when I moved the salad to the side there's was a blob of melted cheese stuck to the Carlton size , I hate cheese where it make me won't to vomit so I'm not recommending now dropping stars right down, don't know if they've got new owners - plus driver sat scrolling in his phone on his phone when he pulled up for roughly three minutes, whilst food getting cold in his car. No more orde s from me for a been a few months since I last ordered, and this past couple of times was even better than before, I don't know if they've changed ownership or food suppliers .but loving it either way, the chips are nice not soggy ( even though they're in those new containers, kebab , not over greasy as some can be all grease rather than just moist ( if you now what I mean) I'm now sat blown up ,as ate more than I should have .lol

Yet again very disappointing Chicken Madras,only taste was the BIR base gravy. No punch as no spice taste. Have had very good Chicken Madras in the past and couldn't fault it using Burton Spice for along time. This is the 3rd disappointing curry within months,definitely time for a change and reading other reviews must have different people cooking,definitely not good 👎

The staff were unhygienic, they were using a brush to clean the floor. And used the same hands to take out food without washing their hands first 😭
