Splendid food , great value and really friendly . Highly recommend . Been here a few times and the quality of food is superb

Possibly the worst fish chips and peas I’ve had in a long time. The fish looked anaemic and was greasy. The peas were fluorescent green. All in all not great but pleasant staff.

This place was recommended but was so disappointed with the food. Ordered sweet and sour chicken and fried rice. Got sweet and sour prawns which I don’t really like and the batter round the prawns was undercooked and slimy inside and the friend rice had hardly seen the wok just looked like boiled rice with egg in it. The pepper ribs were nice however

We regularly use this fantastic fish and chip shop. We are spoilt for choice in Uphill Lincoln but we always eat their fish and chips as they are so much better than all the rest. Tonight, we tried their Chinese Takeaway and we wish we had tried it before. The food was delicious and I especially liked the use of fresh vegetables. It was obviously cooked to order, which took longer but it was definitely well worth the wait.

This take away caters for all tastes. Fish and chips and Chinese among others... the chips are fab and the fish is generous. Pancake rolls are huge.. knocks sock off the rest in town...

If you saw my previous review, you’d know that last Sunday I had a craving for fish and chips and had to seek out another chippy as my local one was closed. That didn’t turn out so good. It was over-expensive and over-cooked. Well, yesterday, I decided to return to my local chippy to satisfy my craving once again. Unfortunately it was closed again (I’m not sure why this time) so, once again, I went searching for an alternative. Well, this time was a completely different story. I remembered that I had heard that the Newport Fish Bar was very good and decided to give it a try. Boy, was I glad I did. The fish was cooked to perfection. The price was similar to my local chippy and the portion was generous. This, has left me with a dilemma. My local chippy will be opening next week. The fish and chips there are very good, but I think the Newport Fish Bar is even better. Worth travelling the extra distance? …. yes, I think it probably is. It does also have an ace up its sleeve. It also serves Chinese food. I’ve not tried that, but if the fish and chips are anything to go by it’s probably worth a try.

Amazing food they do Chinese food as well as normal fish and chip foods. The curry sauce is really nice and the salt and pepper chips are the best I’ve ever had 😍

Used to be my local chippy but I moved to another part of Lincoln. As a result my new local was ‘catch of the day’ this changed hands and to be honest went downhill. So back to Newport after 15 years. The fish and chips were excellent with big portions. The lady serving gave us the large fish instead of medium because it was freshly cooked. Spot on and service with a smile. Highly recommended.

Absolutely hands down the best chippy and Chinese food in Lincoln.. the honey chicken is our favorite meal by far! Love this place for our monthly tea time treat.

Not generally a fan of fish and chips as they are normally a let down despite our local being rated one of the best (I beg to differ) so asked if we could get them from somewhere else and suggested Newport Fish Bar. Had fish, chips and mushy peas and they were AMAZING! The fish was fantastic and I could not fault a thing. My faith in the British dish has been restored.

What wonderful people, food excellent, always a fantastic meal & experience both for unbelievable fish & chips but also absolutely brilliant Chinese cuisine ! Our absolute favourite take away ever ! Both my wife & I are disabled so don't have easy access for meals, but every time after a quick phone call to place our order the food is ready for me to collect on my mobility scooter (pity no delivery service as we only live 2 minutes away, ) but no worries I would be happy to collect (&eat !) this gorgeous food even if they were 5 miles away !!!!!! Absolutely 6 stars out of 5 ! will highly recommend.

We called in this fish and chip shop on two evenings as we were staying in a nearby Guest house that did not do evening meals and had something different on each occasion. The fish, fishcake, peas and pies were very nice (we don't eat chips) and the young lady serving was very friendly and we had a nice chat with her. If we stay locally again we would be happy to pop into this 'chippy' again.

we were in a nearby guest house and twice in four days went to this shop for fish and mushy peas (do not do chips) . Really excellent large tasty fish loved it . Mushy peas excellent too and plenty of tomato sauce and vinegar etc provided free. Good value.

We went here a couple of times but this time is the last time, as the chips tasted plain like they have been reused from lunch time service. I ordered the chicken n cheese roll tasted really oily avoid if your thinking of using a chippy in Lincoln.

Often pop in for fish & chips as it's one of the best in Lincoln. The curry sauce is yummy and chips are chunky fish is delish.

after a days shopping in town, popped in for tea after walking up sttep hill and running up an appetite. good food, plentiful portions. friendly staff

Called just because they were still open at 9.30. Wife is gluten intolerant so can't have batter. Chef grilled a piece of haddock glazed with egg and it was really tasty. I had battered fish with chips and peas. We went back in the shop when we had finished and said that was some of the best fish n chips we have ever had. The ladies smile told a 1000 words! Thoroughly recommended.
