Great food, big portions, friendly staff. Chips crispy outside and are fluffy and light inside. Always something new on the menu. Fast service. Chip is the man.

Just when I thought the chip shop couldn't get any better they have now started to do 2 different types share boxes a meat box and a fish box they are very good value for money I had the meat box which was packed with a mixed variety of meat and chips this chip shop is definitely worth a visit

We dined in for some dinner as we was visiting Lincoln. Food was absolutely amazing. Chips were cooked perfectly. The fish was lovely and broke apart and actually tasted of fish. We tried the kebab and fish bites and they was really nice and not seen them in other chippys. My partner had a kebab and the kebab meat wasn't over cooked and was soft and tasty. Salad was fresh. Service was brilliant. We sat in on the breakfast bar and ate our chippy. Nice and clean. Highly commend visiting or popping in for a nice chippy. A*

We went in early about lunch time the chips was cold I think they warm them up from the other night to serve for today I think thy need a new owner

Hands down the worst fish and chips I've ever had. Overcooked fish, soggy batter and chips that looked and tasted a week old and reheated. Curry sauce was more of a paste than a sauce.

This is my go-to chippie in Lincoln. I recommend the large fish which is always chunky and fresh, but there is a great selection of other options, including all things battered/breadcrumbed and very generous kebabs. Portions are great. Large chips gives the two of us enough carbs to put us to sleep.

By far the worst chips I have ever had, bought at 7p.m this evening when you would expect them to be fresh but oh know over cooked dried up and totally inedible. Avoid at all costs.

I came in yesterday had small chips and fish cake the chips were so hard and over cooked I wasted most of them as you can see very disappointed

Ordered a small haddock & chips for two, one with beans & one with peas.. Even though I had to repeat the sides, I was still given two specials with peas!!. Unfortunately, both meals left a lot to be desired,. The batter was thick & not cooked properly at all,it was mushy & white on the inside, it was inedible,.. The chips were tepid & had obviously been sat for some time getting softer & soggier,. The guy who serves there isn't very helpful & quiet, it appears to be an effort for him to speak to the customers... His uniform is covered in batter, not very hygienic,.. I definitely won't be returning..

Haddock and chips £9.50. Thursday 23rd March 5pm Overcooked dry as a bone haddock with soggy batter. The chips were also old and probably been sitting for a while. What a waste of money. I tried this place a few years ago as it’s in my doorstep, it was bad then. I thought I’d give it another go. BIG MISTAKE. Possibly the worst fish and chips I’ve had. No care or pride taken in their product. Won’t be going back. If I could award no stars I would.

Very good Chicken kab with all the trimming. There is a free car park outside the shop, as well not forgetting there lovely staff alway with a smile and chat.

One of my favourite chippys in Lincoln! Their chicken nuggets are probably my favourite thing on the menu!

Very nice, but check you have the right ordered before you exit the shop. Staff not very good you need to watch them very closely, called in again later evening once again given the wrong item. Very very expensive and you have to pay 50p to use your bank card.

Handling the food with dirty hands, cross contaminating, and not washing them. Illegally charges 50p for card transaction under £8. Used to be 5* but now not even deserving 1*

This was the worst fish and chips ever. We bought a small portion of haddock and chips at £5.20 the fish was no bigger than a fish finger and was grey and tasteless doubtful as to whether it was haddock. Half of the chips were hard and inedible . We will definitely not be going back.

The staff dont listen to what you order like others have put, you want a large fish and end up with a small, peas instead of beans, salt and vinegar when I said no. Salty chicken meat, the batter is soggy and comes off the fish which sticks to the paper when you unwrap it. I always used this chippy but I just don't bother anymore as its a lottery to what you unwrap at home.

Alongside the usual, this chipshop has some great menu choices to choose from including battered halloumi, pea fritters and Chinese curry sauce. The quality of the food is good and the prices are reasonable. The shop has some bar seating where you can wait for your order or if you'd like to sit in. Overall, a good local chipshop.

Had fishcake and chips last night and the chips were the worst chips I have ever had. Everyone of them were like reheated from the day before,they were all rock hard just inedible.You could tell they were not using chips potatoes but inferior potatoes,not ment for the use for chips.They were absolutely disgusting. If you like chips then dont go here ,I know I never will again.

Really disappointed , chips was so over cooked, and especially paying for 2 people i was disgusted , only fit for the birds . So embrassed giving them to my kids as they were hungry and money tight, never ever AGAIN.

Got kebabs tonight and it was barely cooked. It was incredibly greasy and made me feel very sick, chips were very soggy and overall o feel unwell afterwards

Picked up fish and chips today. I think the fish was Pollock although I asked for haddock (£6.50 each) can't be 100% sure. The chips were dead. This chippy used to be very good, then more recently became variable but today was bad. My son thinks the oil is old? Anyway we going to have to find a new chippy🥺

Bought a Donner Kebab from here today,I asked for some freshly cooked meat,the woman serving assured me it had just been cooked.The meat was virtually raw,worst Donner Kebab I have ever had the misfortune of buying.Wouldnt even feed it my dog.

The picture says it all, first visit and will be my last, this is supposed to be a large fish, I would hate to see the small one. Feel totally and utterly ripped off and like I just wasted £7.50...yes £7.50 for that pitiful offering!!! Sea King take a trip to Brant Rd chippy and see what a large fish should look like.

Generally the sea Queen has always been fantastic especially the kebabs, they could feed a whole family! However today I just fancied a piece of fish and asked for a Large piece and actually asked the assistant if it was large as she was serving me to which she said yes! Upon getting home I am astounded that this piece if fish is large, maybe I'm greedy but if this large piece of fish and chips and peas is what £8 gets you then I think I would rather keep my £8. I should have just said there and then to refund me, my mistake. Sea Queen on this occasion yiu have really disappointed

I went with my mum and kids for a half term treat. I ordered the small fish and chip special as I don't have a big appetite. The chips were really hard and looked reheated the fish was really greasy and had a very strange taste. I was really disappointed I won't be visiting again!

omg iv just ordered a small mixed kebab and it's huge could feed 2 people and its amazing never tasted anything like it.

Had a large mixed Kebab. It tasted horrible and the chick was all hard. After this kebab I certainly wouldn’t return. Plus there was no salad.

Have used this shop quite alot but tonight is the first time in a while and I'm sorry but won't be again the chips were disgusting think they have been warmed up from a few days ago and the batter on the fish was very soggy for what it cost us was very disappointed 😞

Used this chippy for a number of years, would be the first to say that the food was great and service good. We've recently used it in the last month, including last night and vowed never to use this establishment again. Purchased chips and a kebab (had no fish) and the food was cold, chips soggy and kebab meat was awful. This was after experiencing two very rude female servers, that seemed drunk/high and dirty. Went down the road to Fish King to get some fish to complete our order and the staff and food was amazing. Seems we're not the ones disgusted with Sea Queen, in future will be taking our business to the Fish King!

We fancied fish & chips, as this chippy was recommended by a neighbour. When we got home (about 5 mins) , absolutely everything was arc welded to the not so grease proof paper. What pieces we did manage to tear off did not taste nice at all, and the chips simply had no taste. Unusually also, this made our blood sugars go quite high(16). Normally, fish & chips from other shops has the opposite effect. Not happy at all, and won't be going there again.

I called in on saturday afternoon around 3:30pm, ordered a kebab and asked if i could pay by debit card. I was informed there was a minimum of £8 to use card payment, so i gave the young lady a £20 note and was told i couldn't pay with that either. She then told me i could get change at the post office, however post offices are closed on saturday afternoon. So i took my custom elsewhere. Won't be back!

The batter on fish thick and hard. Nit a good taste to fish.Not good at all

We had fish, chips and peas twice and another portion of chips, live less than a five min drive. Food cold all of it, air temp of 29. The chips and fish were rolled up, yes rolled, the fish had no batter left on it, the portions of chips were very small, totally disgusting

Stone cold pie and chips, pie wasn’t even cooked properly my Dad had to put his in the oven when he got home. The man in there who serviced me was stroppy because he didn’t hear me properly. Won’t be going back.👎👎

I really fancied fish and chips today, so we went to The Sea Queen cos we've been before and we enjoyed it. This time, we were so disappointed with the food. Chips were hard, probably made in the morning, fish was soggy and curry sauce watery. I think we will try a different shop next time.

I use Sea Queen frequently and would normally give 5 stars. My last visit I wasn't impressed, as I was waiting to collect my order a customer came in not wearing a face mask. There were two staff working and not one of them questioned the lack of face mask. When I collected my order I mentioned the customer and was told "yes I know"! and shrugged her shoulders. There's a pandemic on which has potential to kill. If people do not wear a mask they should be prevented from entry and service. You have the right to refuse service by law! I was not happy! Whether this was remedied after I left I am unaware, that doesn't make it right or safe for customers or staff.

Decided to get fish & chips as unable to use oven at home and wanted a nice treat. We wrote a list of what we wanted which I handed over to the person who was looking after me and added a couple of late addition to the order. When she charged me I commented that it was cheap, but she continued with my order. When she packed up the order I checked that the items were all there and she confirmed that it was. When we got home and unpacked there were items missing which meant that we didn’t have enough food for all the family and that mine and my partners food was then going to go cold, I might add that this is not the first time this has happened so I tried to double check to make sure. We called them to let them know of the error to which we were told that we hadn’t been charged for 1 of the items which was on the list. We drove back to pick up the missing items and took back 2 other items to ask them to reheat so we wouldn’t have a completely ruined meal. When I arrived I was told again that I hadn’t paid for one item and that it wasn’t on the list, I gave them the list and said I was happy to pay for the curry sauce but could they warm up the other items so that we didn’t have cold food. The man behind the counter, who I am guessing is the owner, spoke to the lady who served me and seemed very unhappy, I explained that the rest of the family were now at home eating and we were going to have cold food and I was just asking for it to be reheated but he again spoke to her and said ‘I was taking the p**s’ which I was disgusted by and by this time I was very, very unhappy and asked him why he thought I was taking the p**s when it was not my mistake but he walked away. The lady who did my order sheepishly said that she would replace them but I just wanted to leave the shop by this time and I offered to pay for the sauce twice but she said it was ok. I can not believe how rude someone can be when they had made a mistake. I understand that it is busy and the lady did her best to resolve matters but I will not return or recommend them to anyone which is such a shame in what is a lovely community. I have just eaten cold greasy fish which was not the treat I was hoping for! I do not normally write a review but this has really upset me.

In my view the best fish and chips in Lincoln. I was born and grew up in Grimsby, the centre of the universe for great fish and chips, so I really know what I am talking about. Never had a bad or even average meal here. Strongly recommend. Had kebabs from here and they are also good. Very clean premises and friendly staff.

Wouldn't take card under £8! They need to enter the 21st century! Card machine charges 2p per transaction. Up the prices if you can't afford to pay what every other business manages to pay.

First time using this chippy. Whilst ordering the man taking my order was extremely rude and kept saying ‘what?’ in a tone when he couldn’t understand me due to face masks. It took a good 7-8 minutes till I was asked to place my order. I then waited another 10 minutes and that’s being generous, more like 12 until it was ready. Around 20 minutes in total. Get home and they’ve got the sauce wrong on both my cheese and chips, I asked for garlic Mayo and they’ve slathered it in BBQ! Also ordered two chicken wraps and this time the sauce was non existent and awful to eat as it wasn’t wrapped properly at all. Wanted to like this chippy as it was fairly local and would use regularly but at £14.80 it’s not value for money, quick or efficient. Waste of money.

Bought fish, chips, mushy peas and 2x battered sausage from here last night. Halfway through eating at home and found a dead fly in my chips, it had been dead some time as it wasn't recognisable as a fly until I looked closely. My partner then found a hair in the batter of his sausage. I have contacted them via their Facebook page and they have apologised and offered me a full refund if I can pop back in. I have altered my rating to reflect this.

Judging by previous reviews ,it must be under new management as i have been using it regularly for months now .Kebabs great .Always has something new on the go ,try the battered cheesy chicken balls . or the homemade fish cakes they are huge for only a £1 and really taste amazing .The yorkshire fish cakes fish between sliced potato and battered are also great.Always something new and different on the menu,if it can be deep fried this guy will try it. Now opens sunday as well

We had a lunchtime family chippy from here and it was good without being amazing. The fish was very large! The chip portions too were plentiful, they even had a battered halloumi for the vegetarian amongst us. Fish batter was a little soggy for my liking but that's the only negative

They do a lot of home made items which I will say are really tasty. The cheesy chicken balls for example are VERY moreish. Their own chilli sauces are better than what you would find elsewhere and they are not afraid to try new things on the menu... They stand apart for that reason The kebabs are delish. Tandoori as well as chicken and lamb. Portion sizes are bang for buck. Its busy for a reason.

Came in tonight for a chip butty with cheese, asked for a little bit of salt. Got home and my partner had to go to another chip shop and had to bin this one as i may as well just asked for a tub of salt. She put wayyyy to much salt on the chips and it was all over the bun. Al's said no vinegar as it upsets my stomach however there was loads of it on my chips

My husband and I decided we would nip to the chippy for tea and we ordered two pie special @£4:50 each- it consisted of a pie, chips and gravy. Neither of us could eat the meal it was awful - the chips were that hard, I suspect they have been reheated from lunchtime, the pastry on the pie was hard and the filling was Luke warm. The gravy was really thick and salty. I really didn’t like the meal at all. To add insult to injury... not even the dogs would eat the left overs. I don’t think we will be going back in a hurry.

Kebabs ok but fish & chips overpriced & tasteless.

Went in at 8pm, 3 people queuing in front of me. Staff handling cash and then food without rinsing first. Solid start. 20 minutes later I was able to place my order. Another 10-15 and the food was ready.After a few minutes drive home we tucked in. Shocking. The fish looked like it died two weeks prior. Almost... Slimey? The batter was extremely thick and pale, almost zero crisp. Somehow still powdery inside. It must have been sat forever after being initially very undercooked. Who knows, I'm no expert. The chips were old, and somehow cardboard-stale and soggy at the same time.Beans looked like nothing I've seen before. Super runny too. To the staff's credit they were very apologetic about the wait, and the fishcake was apparently half decent.Overall though, absolutely terrible. Could do better from the Lidl frozen Isle. We will not be returning.

Great fish, Good portions. The minted mushy pea fritter is a meal in itself.

The sea queen is a superb place that has about everything you expect from a good chippy. Parking is very easy, and the staff are really friendly and helpful. The prices are very reasonable. They recently Started making a few home made items like Yorkshire fish cakes and a chilli sauce to die for. I recommend you give them a try.

Had haddock and chips from here and i commented on how small it looked, like half the fish was missing. I was told “that’s the way it is”. Got home to tuck in and discovered the batter was so thick that there was even less fish. Very disappointed :-(

Customer Service is none existant Food is average. Staff messed up our order, then over charged us when we complained. Was passed pillar to post. Manager doesn't give a damn about his establishment Will NOT be ordering again

the fryer/server had chipped nail varnish on which could have gone in to the chips which looked awful
