Whilst the food was delicious the views stunning, our first experience of this venue left a bad taste in my mouth. We arrived expecting it to be busy as its the Easter holidays and a beautiful, sunny day. However, we expected there to be some form of queueing system for tables. We joined the queue, a table became available, so I pointed it out to the group in front of us as they had arrived first. When I reached the front of the queue, I was told thay if there were no tables available, we could have takeaway boxes or sit outside. It's 9°C (6°C if you account for the wind) and my husband is wheelchair bound and suffers from Raynaud's syndrome. I said we would wait for a table. Sometime later, another table became available so I walked over, I asked if they were leaving, the gentleman relied that he was giving it to another couple who had jist arrived but whom they clearly new. After waiting for several more minutes, another group got up. I asked if they were leaving them said they wasn't sure who was next. I explained that we had been here for the best part of an hour. Seeing mine and my husband 's frustration, they eventually awarded us the table. The whole experience was marred for us and the other customers feeling pressured over the battle for tables. A queueing system is is desperately needed.

Unfortunately not a nice experience and would not recommend or go again. Had to wait around 20 minutes, the food was cold, worst burger and kebab we’ve ever had, dry and no flavour, part of my order was wrong and sauce forgotten. Chippy down the road much better!

My family and I ordered a just eat take-out this evening from The Spice Lounge. Delivery was slightly delayed as we live a bit of a distance away but the food arrived piping hot and oh my days was absolutely delicious. Best curry that we have eaten in a long time and well worth the money. Very highly recommended. Thank you so much 😊 Nicky, Gary and Tom

First time back as Chapel since lockdown and nice to see changes at Arches and the old Bellbank on Trunch lane. We knew that The Maid Marion had changed so we thought we'd try it. Having eaten here numerous times and never being disapointed. We arrived just before the kitchen closed and we're told we had two minutes to order so we quickly ordered two meals and drinks and for £37 we expected a decent meal. Steak and Ale pie and chips. Cold soggy chips, pie reheated in a microwave, soggy pastry, congealed gravy also cold. Cheese burger, onion rings, chips and salad. Everything was cold apart from the burger which was so over cooked it was almost black. The salad consisted of a few limp lettuce leaves, all in all a very disappointing meal. We understand that we were just in time for ordering food but that should not mean a reduced service, our meals were rushed and prepared carelessly. The alterations look nice and have added to the general appeal of the place and in some ways explain the rather high prices. We will not return as it is not as good as when it was Maid Marion, for a pub in such a prominent position it should be doing better, it looks the part but fails miserably in it's execution.

Sunday evening, only had half the food on menu. Given burnt pizza was told hope you like it well done. Puppercorn sauce looked like chicken soup which was not eaten.
