Spice Lounge in East Lindsey

My family and I ordered a just eat take-out this evening from The Spice Lounge. Delivery was slightly delayed as we live a bit of a distance away but the food arrived piping hot and oh my days was absolutely delicious. Best curry that we have eaten in a long time and well worth the money. Very highly recommended. Thank you so much 😊 Nicky, Gary and Tom

My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous meal last night at the Spice Lounge…Lovely restaurant, great service, great food and a good ambiance

Probably the worst Indian restaurant I’ve experienced. Poor attitude from the staff. We didn’t get past the stale Papadams, the mango chutney was like water with no mango, the food we saw coming out of the kitchen looked awful. The place smells of cigarettes.

Have been twice now both times no food ? This coffee machine no working . Greeted by staff member at the door smoking . Won’t bother again.

The place has no staff to serve and waiter so the service is shocking slow. One girl cleaning tables deserved a medal as big as a dustbin the amount of work she was doing.Make her a manager and get more staff. Whoevers managed the drinks n bar needs to get the coat ,30 minutes to get a drink ,bartender was too busy talking all the time. Nothing on draught even its part of a bigger establishment,bottles of wine is over priced. Nearly 1 hour before starter came. The food is fantastic compliments to the chef as between him and the girl on front are the only two worth paying a wage. Food is over priced for the lack of service you get. Gordon Ramsey needs to come and give the rest a kick up the arse.

Although the food was good and we were advised, in advance, of a 2 hour wait until it would be ready (so our choice, which we were okay with), on arriving to collect, we were advised that Spice Lounge does not supply take away food. A fare decision on their part, but we were left confused given that our order for take away food had been accepted some 2 hours earlier. Further more, we were initially advised that the food we had ordered had been served to customers in the restaurant. We were also advised “to be patient”, as diners in the restaurant were still waiting for food they had ordered. At this point, I became frustrated, explaining that we had already waited more than the two hours quoted and did not expect to be treated differently to those eating in. The response from the person “serving” us was very negative - I have NEVER before experienced someone shouting at me on turning up to collect a takeaway. Although I anticipate this may have been as a result of stress from being understaffed, this is inappropriate behaviour which I sincerely hope nobody else has to experience.

Food was great really couldn't complain the woman who took our orders was brilliant however she was rushed off her feet, I feel there is a lack of staff and the management are letting the side down. Overall great food and the waiter was really nice, we left a tip for them. Management need to help the staff out in my opinion. I would go back cause the food was nice but think they need more staff.

What a great place!… we found this little gem while on holiday… the staff were amazing with all 4 of our children, and the food was superb!…It was one of our daughters first experience having a curry, so the chef made something special for her, and she loved it!! Great atmosphere, such a friendly warm welcome… and tasty food! We can’t thank you enough… we will be back to see you again ♥️

Booked a table at the Spice Lounge for my birthday, 4 adults and a baby. When In phoned I asked what time they opened and was told 5pm, as we had the baby we booked that time. Arrived ay 5, found out they didn't open until 5:30! Anyway, the guy let us in but had lost our booking, didn't matter it was empty. He told us that his waitresses hadn't turned up so he did it all, set the table, took the order, brought the food and drinks, answered the phone and more and more people arrived, by the time we left there were about 6 tables of 4 or more, I'm glad we got there early and I don't know how he managed on his own but he seemed to. It could do with a bit of a scrub. the salt and pepper pots were gross covered in some sort of what looked like dried custard! The food was very good a bit pricy but good far better food than the other Indian takeaways in the area. They do takeaway as well but no delivery.

Tried spice lounge after hearing good things, we weren’t disappointed the food was lovely. Service was a little up and down however any issues were rectified. Will return when in the area .

The food is nice and and came out quick and was hot. The one thing I would change are by swivel seats at they are far too heavy abs not practical. Service was ok and reasonably priced.

We went to the Vine for a family meal, we had heard some good reviews about the food so we thought we would give it a go. I was very impressed with their professional approach to the Covid restrictions and track and trace. Very Friendly staff and the food was very good at a very good price. We will definitely visit again next time we come to Chapel at Leonards.

Booked a table last Friday, while staying in Skegness. Arrived early but was seated with no problems. Waitress brought the menu and took our drinks order promptly, we had the Tiger beer which was spot on. For food we ordered poppadoms and pickle tray followed by onion banks and a prawn sizzler. For the main course we ordered chicken tikka balti, pilu rice and a garlic nan all the food was perfectly cooked and tasted fantastic. We was not rushed and asked between courses if we was ready for the next. The 3 girls serving were very polite and delivered a service that has to be commended, I can not wait to return and try more from a very varied menu.

Chef cooks all food from fresh produce and it tastes amazing , very good portions. Well worth a visit

Where to start, booked a table for 4 adults and 1 teen & 1child, asked if we could have the kids option of chicken nuggets & told no problem. Ordered our drinks, my husbands drink didn't come so had to ask again, ordered our meals...

Yet again fantastic takeaway food.I defy anybody to find a better Lamb Balti Saag with Chickpeas !!! The Lamb just melts in your mouth AMAZING

Went here at 9.15pm on Friday 4 Sept 2020. Walked in to be told by bar staff they were closed, went in to their Indian restaurant to be told the restaurant was also closed but were doing take away only, seemed strange at 9.15pm.

What a wonderful evening. We went in at 8pm and as a party of 8. The food was excellent top class and the staff are so friendly and cannot do enough to help. We even had a visit from the Chef with the biggest smile...

Food and staff excellent the restaurant is immaculate even the owner offered a lift back to the campsite due to no taxi available well recommended.

Staff need more training. After we had finished our poppadums we had 3 separate staff members ask if we was ready for our starters but failed to take our plates away until the starters came and the same scenario happened with our mains, it was a complete joke!A party on the next table was waiting for their mains and the staff came out with a birthday cake to their table for dessert, how bizarre! Poppadoms and onion bhaji tasted very nice however the chicken tikka was the worst curry we have ever tasted. A pub curry/ microwave would have tasted better. We visited this restaurant 2 years ago and had an excellent meal we were inforned this is now under new management. The manager did offer to make us another one but we had already waited 25 mins, by that point we was so annoyed . I took my fiancee out for her birthday and it spoilt our evening. Manager and staff need to go on training course for customer service.

food delivered in a reasonable time, quite expensive, lamb kebabs very bland no spice or seasoning to them what so ever, chips were hot, naan bread was nice, wont hurry back

Food was very nice. Piping hot on delivery lots of flavours rather than bland curries as some Indian restaurants are. Staff seem to be a bit all over the place unsure of what they are doing. But can’t fault the food

Having had both take aways and eaten in the restaurant , the food has always been of a consistently high quality. Take away orders have always been ready at the time stated , and service in the restaurant has always been excellent. There has also been a definite improvement since the change of ownership/management.

Ordered a takeaway over easter weekend and didn't have to wait too long for the collection.All the food we had from the curry, to the naan to even the chutney tray was very tasty - one of the tastiest we've had in fact.Spice lounge are doing great things and very happy to have found a fabulous Indian takeaway in the area.

Really, really impressed by this hidden gem!No note about this through searching on Google for an Indian restaurant in this area, so pleased TripAdvisor came up with the goods!The décor is superb, atmosphere wonderful, food truly amazing and staff very obliging!Very very pleased to have visited and spent a very satisfying meal as a family here.Highly recommend

Booked a table for 7pm for 4 of us having been a couple of times before and really enjoyed. We arrived just after 7 and approached the bar area informing the young lady of our booking and apologising for being a few minutes late.The place was relatively busy and we were told to take a seat .We watched half the tables finish and leave and the staff wander around taking orders and food to a couple of tables.We sat and waited for 30 minutes, a large group of 10 came in and were seated and a couple come in and seated at an empty 4 table around the corner. Grabbing the waitress as she rushed past she had clearly forgotten we were waiting, in full view of all 4 staff. She apologised and said she would clear one of the many unclear tables so we could be seated.At 7.45 we were shown to a table andAsked if we wanted drinks. 10 minutes later the drinks arrived and we said we were ready to order, the waitress said she would get a pad but we asked if we could just get have poppadoms as we were starving and then order.Another 5 minutes passed, the waitress returned to inform us that they didn't have any poppadoms. This was the last straw, we had literally only taken a sip from our drinks as we had been studying the menu and commitmenting on how the table of 10 had already got drinks and poppadoms, so stood up and announced we were leaving as we've been there the best part of an hour and they hadn't even got poppadoms. The waitress ran across the restaurant to fetch the manageress as we HAD to pay for the drinks, which were all still full.Manageress to be honest didn't have a clue.My wife explained that we are local, not tourists and are local businesses owners , we were appalled by the absolute shambles and were going to find somewhere else to eat. She offered us 50% off the total bill as an apology but by now it was to late, damage was done so we went home and ordered a takeaway. Staff like headless chickens and running out food at 8pm and implying we were doing a runner?... not good enough.

What an awful experience,they must have been in dreamland,Have never been to such an awful Indian,as I have been going many many years . This will never be popular,!! Plates were found to be dirty on presentation,before food and actually tried to clean a plate by blowing and wiping with tea towel,then returning to kitchen as were all dirty!Feel very for some of staff as they are fighting a lost battle.Immediate action needs to be taken on all aspects prior to making people ill.Did not even have pleasant aroma of Indian food !! Please get it right for everyone’s pleasure??BEWARE.

Visited spice lounge for the first time since it was taken over last October and WOW ! what a treat , after hearing a bad verbal review we was reluctant but we was amazed at the quality and quantity of food , the popodoms are fresh and warm , I had chicken tikka main and it was delicious my husband had a lamb dish the meat was really tender , tasty and plentiful in a lovely thick sauce . The very lovely Rita ( I apologies if I got this wrong ) co owner came and introduced her self which was a lovely touch . Staff are all very professional , pleasant but not intrusive , the service was also very good . The resteraunt it's self is very pleasant clean and warm , all in all it was a lovely experience and we can't wait to return . Thank you to you and your staff .

This place is just amazing, went with the wife for our date night and as usual it was amazing, been a few times now and wouldn’t go anywhere else in the area, big thank you to Sarah, very polite and friendly and very efficient, nice to see the place packed, get ready for busy times guys . Not been in spice lounge since new management took over ,but tryed it last night and omg we loved it !! Presentation was lovely and the food hot and very tasty,we had chicken tikka rezella for main and it was spot on, I must say Rita is an asset to that place being a success and of course her husband ( one of the chef's) she seems to take interest in what you think about the food and your feedback ,along with being very attentive,nothing is to much trouble , well done to Rita and hoque I am sure you will make a go of it ,we certainly can't wait to go back

Just had a lovely meal at this restaurant. The food was delicious. The onion bajees were really crispy with lots of onion & the chicken tikka starter was quality chicken. We shared a chicken jalfrezi which again was quality. Everything was perfect including the service .We will be back.

Waitress was helpful with the ordering however service was slow. But makes a nice change and made a good night out with friends

Four of us had dinner here, and everyone enjoyed their food.It has a comprehensive menu to choose from.The food was well cooked and nicely presented, from the pickle tray to the naans.The service was great, attentive but not overly so.Very nice house red to top it off.Would definitely recommend and will be going back again.

Stayed overnight at chapel and fancied a curry...went into spice lounge and was amazed by the food. Hubby ordered mixed kebab starter which was lovely, I know cos I nicked some! For main I had sea bass which was awesome, it tasted gorgeous and looked lovely...the staff where friendly but not overly in ya face...we will definitely be back xx

My dad and I fancied curry much to the annoyance of my 11 year old daughter who insisted she absolutely hates curry, fast forward a couple of hours she tried tikka masala, rogan josh and chicken saag. She asked for some paper to write a note to the staff, she thanked them for the lovely meal and told them she couldn’t wait to try some more different curries. They stuck her note up on the bar, she was delighted. To the other diners in there I can only apologise for the hideous behaviour of my 2 year old who pretty much screamed the place down for a solid 20 minutes, she was tired and grumpy having refused to nap, she then deposited the majority of her food on the floor, I would say she doesn’t usually behave that way but who am I kidding she’s 2 years old, she’s a pint sized tyrant who frays my last nerve to the point of hysteria before reverting to an adorable little darling who wants kisses and cuddles.

I visited here at the weekend and the food was Awesome, great value for money, staff were clean and friendly, they also cater for children.

Food was great . The new owner was friendly and the new staff were great too.Only pointer really was the drinks were a little expensive £3.50 for a small bottle of cobra. So £7.00 a pint. If I was you guys I would work with the bar and use there prices as this will put people off.Other than that cracking service

We visited the Spice lounge last night, this has now been taken over and the food was absolutely amazing, portion sizes were very satisfying. This is best Indian food we have ever eaten, the flavours just kept coming. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was lovely with excellent lighting. Spotlessly clean.We will definately be revisiting, obviously many times over.Great food, great staff, great atmosphere , Thanks Spice lounge

Glad to see the vine has been taken over. Although visiting in the past I never had a complaint about the food it was the waiting times but thought we'd give it another try last night and I'm so glad we did. Waitress was very charming the curries we ordered were outstanding probably the best I've ever tasted. So please if you've had a bad experience in the past go back!! Exceptional service and food 5* for both

Ordered two curries for takeaway. Staff very nice but god only knows how this is still going it was very poor. Took the takeaway bag out to the car and all I could smell was the chips. Normally the aroma of a curry takes over but not this. Both curries very greasy,bland and overpriced. Maybe the takeaway is different to the restaurant but you spend good money you should expect what you pay for.

We visited the spice lounge on Saturday evening. The food was delicious, and all the staff were very attentive. Best Indian by far in the the local area. Will definitely be visiting again soon. Thankyou

We ate here in 2017 and the service was bad it took over 2 hours for a starter and main to come out and they blamed it on the orders they get through "Just eat".That all said we decided to try again this year and after 45 mins after ordering and not even receiving a pickle tray we got up and left. They had 6 waiting staff on and only 8 tables to serve .It was the same excuse that they are busy with "Just eat".If you want a good meal and lovely staff go to La Piazza . You won't be disappointed. Vine if you read this you need a restaurant manager who knows what they are doing.

Called in at the spice lounge on Friday evening to book a table for Saturday evening. When we arrived on Saturday we were told by the same lady that had booked us in the previous day that she couldn't find out booking, she eventually found our booking in the diary on Friday! Not to worry, they sat us down with a drink and menus while they set us a table (at this point there was only 3 other tables seated). After about 15 mins our order was taken, just popadoms to start and then main courses. After 45 mins we had finished our bottle of wine and there was still no sign of our popadoms! We decided by this point that we had waited long enough so called the manager over, gave her the money for the wine and told her we were leaving. She apologised and said they were very busy, we pointed out that there were only 22 people including us in the restaurant! She said that all of the just eat orders they had received had caused the delay.We have been to this restaurant quite a few times before and the service has always been as bad but we have put up with it because the meals have always been nice, but unfortunately we will not be returning. 45 mins wait for a pickle tray and popadoms really takes the biscuit....or maybe it was just a sales ploy to get us to buy more wine!

Just had a set menu for 2 delivered to our site, incredible service, stunning food will definitely order again next time we're in the area can't recommend highly enough

Went here yesterday 27/8/18 bank holiday monday at around 6:30pm.The place was empty so we were seated quickly and the waiters were very attentive.We had chicken Pakora and onion baji starter with a bottle of house wine followed by chicken balti and Korma with garlic naan, cheese naan and pilau rice.Very tasty and plentiful would definitely recommend this place

We visited twice on our weeks holiday, one was the buffet night really good choices really enjoyed both visits nothing was to much trouble

So went to order a take away on a known take away app. Got in to the restaurant to collect the order. They where standing there not interested to start off with. Said I had ordered a take away but they said they had nothing through. Looked at the app and said declined. They had not notified me and denied any knowledg of the order coming through. I went on the app after walking out and it said closed. They do not care the staff in there. I had to wait 20 minutes to find out that my food would not be there

We booked a table of 15 here and booked in at short notice,the waitress that attended our table was faultless however the food was just to hot,

Ordered take away after picking up menu from Vine Hotel, don't use first number it sends you to Vine hotel bar!! Spoke to a lovely polite young lady who took my order she said restaurant busy so could take 45 mins so she asked for my number to ring back when ready. 20 mins later she called back saying our order was ready wow that was quick. Picked up no fuss food ready. Meal was fab very tasty,great service great food would definitely go back

Saturday night in Chapel St Leonard's - Carnival night, so expected it to be busy! That's why we had booked on the Tuesday as there were 7 of us! Arrived and weren't expected - tables had to be pushed together - not a good start! Ordered a drink while we waited - no Cobra on tap, only bottles - never mind, we'll have bottles. Get to table, no bottles of Cobra! An Indian restaurant with no Cobra? Oh well, we'll have another lager. Got lager and menus. Waited for a while and eventually ordered poppadoms instead of a starter. Asked for some guidance on heat of some unfamiliar dishes, to be told they didn't know, but could ask the kitchen. As it was getting on, said never mind and chose known dishes instead. Waitresses were very good, as it was their first night, but spelt out every dish for them! One young lad spent the evening wandering round writing his hands trying to look busy, without doing anything, while the rest of the waiting staff were trying to do everything else.

Reckon this is faulty towers theme, service was absolutely crap. Sat for 30 mins before we were asked what we wanted to drink and to take our order. When drinks came, my prosecco was warm and couldnt even remember my husbands choice of lager. Starters were brought out, but not what we ordered, then after an hour of waiting we decided not to bother waiting any longer and left. Would not bother going and there's no excuse wasn't even busy.

Sat there for nearly 1 hour for someone to take our order. They served 2 tables that came in after us although I never saw any food materialise. I went to the bar to order and was told somebody would be over soon....another 20 minutes passed we left but found a lovely pizza place. My advice is give it a wide berth

Went on Thursday and they had all you can eat for £12 each,food was very good from the starters to the main, only had chicken dishes but was fine with mild,medium and a hot curry all was very good,,will definitely take another visit.

Delivered to two other camp sites first and Try ed to deliver 2 hours early. Sorted that out no problem. Food was fresh and hot but no way as nice as it was 1 year ago .Quite expensive. A Bit disappointed

The service was very slow but maybe thats because we came in late. The starters wasnt great onion bhajis was good my tandori chicken hardly had any meat on it and the wifes king prawn in breadcrumbs was sent back and not paid for. But the currys was very nice with lots of flavour. The naan breads was good as was the rice and chips. Honest staff as my wife left her versace sunglasses that night and when we went for breakfast we asked and they had been put behind the bar so greatfull for that. Overall a good meal and would return.

I went here for dinner a little wait for the table was annoying but not end of world and they adapted by providing some starters, the food is good and good portions. Go for it nice change to fish and chips

3 hours later i recieved my food after 2 hours i was told it still had not been prepared absolutely shocking service.i would have liked my curry for my tea not my supper

Fantastic Indian food. Both dishes I wanted were not on the menu but they were very accomadating and it was delicious. Definitely worth a visit.

We went here in late 2006 and the food was excellent, see my previous review. Based on our recent visit we won't be returning. With a bottle of wine the meal came to £50 ish and have to say that i would have been unhappy paying more than £5 for the lot. Poor quality, overcoocked and dry meat and over priced wine. What a complete rip off, you would get a much tastier curry meal from Sainsburys, Tesco or Morrisons. Its a real shame but if you go here you are just being ripped off. We are weekly curry eaters and have to say this is one of the worst we have had. Under normal circumstances we would have refused to pay for it, it was that bad. Something major has changed since October 2016 when we last visited. We vote with our feet.

We were staying locally without a car and the Spice Lounge offered delivery. Food came quickly and was piping hot. Very tasty. We would order again

We stayed at sunrise Barn and the spice lounge came up on just eat in the top 10. Ordered for 8 people, great menu! Delivery prompt for the big order we placed. Food was delicious. Arrived and it was still hot and fresh. Everyone really enjoyed their food and was extremely satisfied with their choice. Perfect choice for an evening in and wanting a take away. All 8 of us agreed that it was one of the best Indians we have had so tasty and flavoursome.

Did the Carvery on Mothers day . Great food and plenty of it,and all at a great price. ( Please can someone tell me the size of the adult size plates. massive.lol) Good time was had by us all.

Went to spice lounge last night for a catch up with friends as use it quiet a lot throughout the year. The staff were efficient, welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Food was nice and a lovely atmosphere until a bloke in a scruffy coat wearing a woolly hat came in and was touching all the plates the food was on on the buffet display and then he disappeared through the door to the kitchen. Not very hygienic when there are customers in the restaurant. Totally put us all off going up for more food. Heard someone say that he is the owner. Looked more like the car park litter picker.

Me and my husband tried the spice lounge on the 15th of February, they had an ‘All you can eat night’. £12 per person. We have tried lots of Indian restaurants in and around Skegness, this one was just as good as the rest! Not a lot of choice where the curry’s were concerned, but what there was they were delicious! Plenty of starters and side dishes. The staff were so pleasant and polite. This was the first time we had tried an All you can eat and the young gentleman who was there could not have been more helpful! He showed us into the restaurant where all the food was, explained all the dishes and made us feel really welcome. Thank you for a pleasant evening!!...

My self and my husband went here Saturday the 16/12/2017 as we where visiting mum who lives at Anderbycreek it wasn't very good we where ask where we wanted to sit I said next to the radiator as it was so cold we sat down it wasn't even on so we had to tell the waiter twice to put it on I mean he wasn't rushed off his feet as they where only us there he bought our plates out which at tlme was hot but then waited ages for the curry and rice so the plates went Luke warm the food wasn't great had better I think next time we will stick to the ghandi at skegness which marvelous just wanted some where close to where mum lives the vine bar is lovely to have a drink but I don't recommend having a curry there from Dianne Stevens from Derbyshire

Best curry I've had for a long time .portions are fabulous too.fantastic find for us as we are motorhomers and found this via brit stops. Keep up the good work. We are going for a Sunday dinner today woop woop. Highly recommend this place and we will be back. Thanks

Me and my boyfriend just ate here, absolutely fantastic. Service was great and food came out quickly, piping hot and delicious! Lovely relax atmosphere, clean and tidy. Staff very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful meal would highly recommed.

Great menu ,good service ,nice choice of drinks and starters.Mains portions big enough for piggalotamusis and trough hounds .Wide selection of sides and all reasonably priced a great place to eat and relax .

Every year when we come up sometimes twice a year over the passed 4 year we come here. Always great food and service but when we visted last night we can say we will not go back the menus had two different prices for drinks when questioned they said it was one and then charged us the other prices they also charged us for a extra drink we did not have. The curry and rice turned up without plates. They turned up then we didn't have anything to eat it with so had to flag them down so the could eat it then at last the nann turned up. We told the lad working there that we were unhappy but didn't seem to care. Was not the way you want to spend a night out while on holiday. The food it self was lovely it was just the service shame really

We rented a house just outside Chapel St Leonards. We ordered an Indian meal from the Vine. It did take a while to come but the food was tasty & good value

Popped into the pub for a drink and decided to stop for something to eat in the restaurant. We were not disappointed. Poppadom and dips, starters including onion bhajai and Samos not greasy very tasty. We had a mix of chicken biriani, madras and korma. All plates completely clean. The young people that were serving us were extremely helpful and polite and a real credit. We had 2 drinks each it came in under £70 which was great value.

Came here for my birthday with my boyfriend. After looking at reviews was very disappointed. On first arriving, the lack of organisation is what met us. Chaos. Tables needed clearing and cleaning. The decor very dated and did not fit the theme. Customers were around the bar awaiting to be served. Staff seemed very young and inexperienced to deal with anything without asking their manager. Order drinks, i ordered vodka and lemonade it was discusting, was unable to drink it. Maybe cheap vodka. The food was mediocre. Was a very disappointing visit. Would not recommend.

Went here with a party of family and friends for a 70th birthday meal. Couldn't fault either the meal or the staff...all in all excellent. Have been back since and will definitely be back.

Admittedly have been any further south than Chapel!
