Nice hotel. Clean comfortable room. Slept ok even though bed was a little soft for our liking. Hotel has free car park round the back.

Had a really pleasant stay here recently. The room was very spacious with a good bathroom. Worth a stay.

We visited here for the Alford 1940's weekend event which was spectacular. However we were thirsty and went in here for a cooling drink. We ordered two half pints of orange juice and lemonade, and we were told the price, £6.00 each. I nearly fainted on the spot, what an absolute bloody disgraceful rip off Only one star given for the outrageous price. We cannot comment on other aspects of the hotel.

Stayed 2 nights, first night we stayed in the apartment and was great, clean and spacious and dog friendly, we decided to then stay another night so moved to another room as the apartment was already booked and this room was also clean and spacious plenty of room for 2 adults 2 children and a dog. Hotel was quiet and good parking. Based in a lovely little town with lots of little shops to look in

Absolutely love the place, decided to pop in for a quick pint with my fiance. Lovely bright pub with a pool table great service by the lovely barwoman and a decent beer garden. Will be my go to

Extremely good location. The hotel reception has a really unpleasant smell that permeates everywhere. It’s really quite awful. The room was ok, but we had to wash all the pots and cutlery as things were not clean and sticking to the shelves. The shower in the bathroom was not good, smelly again. Really the whole place just had this awful smell!

Over night stay here excellent place good location and room compact but clean and everything you might need, such a shame that the restaurant down stairs wasn't open as looks very fresh and clean, had to make do with take away from the Chippy which was very good, able to sit in the restaurant side to eat which was a good touch from the lady... No breakfast at this hotel again think missing a trick to get customers...

Another buisness stop On arrival to hotel please be aware there is a huge carpark to the rear of the hotel which is easily accessible I did get greeted by two lovely ladies of a very friendly disposition and had a bit of a laugh with them There was a bar area for drink etc and lots of shops around the market square I got offered the best room in the house overlooking the entire square which was beautiful very spacious The room had a bath which was a lovely bonus and great tv The bed was extremely comfy The only thing I have to mention was that the room was extremely cold although the lady did mention there was a problem with the central heating I got really very cold in the night. The coffee facilities were there although basic but nice and clean Hotel could do with a makeover as carpets paintwork etc getting worn but nothing major The hotel did say they didnt do breakfast which I was surprised at so I had to go elsewhere to eat. To summarise Very friendly staff Ample parking Beautiful location with lots of amenities Lovely room Just need to put on a breakfast and hotel could do with a small makeover

Called in for food and drinks. Both surpassed our expectations. Cheery service, cracking food, excellent range of beers and spirits. What's not to like :)

we stayed at the windmill Hotel 🏨 on the 7th & 8th of July 2023. Debbie was very welcoming as we had spoke previously on the telephone, Our room was brand new and decorated outstanding 👏, The room it's self was clean & tidy and we could not fault it ,The staff in the bar were very polite and welcoming Luke was very funny and quite a nice gentleman the drinks were moderately priced, The food in the restaurant was outstanding and moderately priced all so we had a lovely weekend at the Windmill Hotel in Alford. Everyone was very friendly in the village of Alford, which made our stay even better. Thanks for all your help and all your hospitality, we will be back, and we will recommend you to others for an outstanding weekend in Alford ,

Hotel was very clean and the rooms were very spacious, the ladies that run the hotel were lovely and helped us book taxis into Skegness.Will definitely stay again, we could not get over how good value the hotel was for money

The refurbishment of the rooms has made them look very pleasant and with good bathrooms. Friendly service from their staff. I love the Batman's beers on offer in the bar.

I'm a local for last 6 years, it's just been totally refurbished and is amazing. I've gone in more this week than I have in last 5 years to the bar. They have not cut corners on anything they have done to this hotel and of what they still want to do to the rest by end of March. If you want to stay for the 1940s Alford weekend, I suggest you book now!!!

Went there tonight and it's all closed up and the phone has been disconnected, so I didn't get a chance to taste the food. Very disappointing. ☹

Service was OK. Food presentation OK it just tasted bland and every dish looked the same. The tables werent clean and all around looked a bit grubby.

We had a fabulous evening here. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was lovely. Only downside was the toilets, which felt like walking into a freezer, but we had a lovely evening and a lovely meal.

Amazing little Indian we all ordered the set meal for one each and it was safe to say we didn't go hungry x All food hot and full of flavour and the staff very welcoming and friendly and even had a giggle with us x Will definitely recommend to any one as well worth the money x

Food is amazing here. Highly recommend this for a family meal Every dish we ordered was full off tastes we ordered five different main dishes and the all was just so delicious. i will make sure to visit every time I drive up from essex one off the waiters in particular is so welcoming All the prices for food and drink is fair. There is good parking available The owners are really friendly and also the pub is warm cosy and friendly They have a nice pool table as well The hotel seemed full. And full off happy clients also using the restaurant So. All o have left to say is thankyou for such a fantastic family meal. Great service I will definitely revisit 😀

we have got hunderds of indiams what are better in Derby than this place. not freindly and not good food. like l said about the hotel if he thinks he can bring me to holes lke this an still be my boyfriend then he is wrong

We eat here on the evening that we were staying in the hotel at this historic building in the centre of Alford. The portions are big, and when ordering you should bear this in mind. The food is excellent and obviously prepared with pride and care. It isn't a cheap place to eat, but you are paying for the quality. Service is 'relaxed' but this gave us a chance to have a good chat with other diners. An excellent find in a small Lincolnshire town - well worth a visit.

Yet again wonderful stay at Windmill Hotel, my dog Fenton loves the place, the Indian food is excellent, staff friendly and polite, simply perfect for a good break from the normal routine, slap bang in the middle of Alford a quaint little town in Lincs.

We stayed at the hotel adjacent so it was easy and convenient for dinner. The food was superb. Chicken Korma to die for and the stuffed Naan gorgeous. Extensive wine list all not too badly priced. Service very good. All in all a great experience.

Had a takeaway Friday night all in all not a bad meal,reasonable price and quick service. The food was nice and hot and tasted great, Can’t ask for much more than that.👍🏻

We popped in for Sunday lunch recently and were greeted by the usual lovely warm welcome from the hosts. My wife and I have enjoyed quite a few mouth-watering meals here over many long years, but sadly on this occasion that `spark` wasn`t there. We miss the place mats and quality linen type serviettes of days gone by. The starters were very tasty and nicely accompanied with the dips. My wife`s side salad was presented in a cold glass bowl - just out of the fridge. Not quite the way other establishments do it. The mains were palatable and were accompanied with fresh veg of the day. But we left feeling that the old ways were gone. Is this the way forward?.

I was staying in town last week at another place up the road and having had a very average meal the night before my friend and I decided to try this place for a meal instead. We weren't too surprised to see some other people from our hotel here who were also a bit disappointed with what was on offer around the corner. A pleasant meal, with pleasant service at resonable prices. The curry was nothing special, but nothing too bad either. Overall I have no criticisms of it at all, decent food, decent service, decent prices, what more do you want?

Visitamos este restaurante indio para una familia harrison 85 celebración de cumpleaños. Tomó un 95 años. La acogida, el servicio y la comida eran excelentes. Todos los gustos fueron atendidos un nada era demasiado problema. El propietario y gerente del restaurante hizo su máxima y todos nos lo pasamos una velada encantadora. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente.

Have been visiting the windmill for well over a year now,had both take away food delivered and eaten in the indian restaurant.Food is excellent,staff always friendly,owners are very welcoming as you walk in the door.Have taken family their on various occasions,have highly recommended to others who have also visited and their experience has been the same.Good value for money.Will keep visiting the windmill in the future.Well done to the owners.

We have takeaway orders and from ordering to delivery the service is 2nd to none and the food is delicious and don't have takeaway from anywhere else now

Before they moved and we had transport, it was the only time I could persuade my partner to come have Indian Cuisine. The experience was so relaxed. They made me a latte, not on the menu, which I loved. Now relocated, so cant comment on restaurant, situated within hotel/ Recently had home delivery, to our isollated premises and still very high standard cuisine

My husband and I visited this Indian restaurant for a meal on a Friday evening. The food is very nice. We had a jalfrezi and a sag curry (highly recommended) very reasonable prices and very relaxed atmosphere.

Have dined here three or four times. Waiters are polite and helpful and food is good consistently. We used to have a different favourite curry house but this one has now taken over because one can rely on it as being good whatever time or day one arrives. This is in part of what used to be a run-down pub but this too has improved considerably.Tthey do have cheaper banquet nights - please check which day(s) as I am not sure but the prices are quite reasonable anyway.

horrible tasteless food! That's it really! Worst Indian ever imo. Far better in town. What a dump. Wouldn't go here if it was the last indian restaurant on the planet. Stick to McDonald's! Horrible horrible place should be closed down.

The Chips were disgusting, floppy, wet and very over cooked. The mash was gopping, raw potato smashed to a pulp, watery, with no seasoning or butter. Our meals were served to us by the chef himself, who looked grubby and annoyed. All the staff could do with smartening up, I don't think 3/4 track suit bottoms, trainers and a sports top is what a barmaid/waitress should wear. Plus, I don't think drinking alcohol whilst on shift is very professional either, which is what the barmaid was doing.

Bad food, dirty rooms. There is not 1 positive thing! They even kicked us out of the rooms before the last night. Because they needed the rooms for other people! Most worse hotel ever!!!!! Even worse than the most worse hotel in Africa

Stayed in the bridal suite; which was roomy and had a decent 4 poster bed. Could have done with bigger pillows. Heating in the bathroom has to be turned off by a switch near the plug. Shame we only found out after spending the night in sauna like conditions. Armchair looked comfortable, unfortunately someone had forgotten to remove the peanuts that had been deposited behind the cushion by a previous visitor. Location was good, central to the little market town, however vastly overpriced (staying at the Waldorf Cavalieri in Rome for less). Breakfast was ok, but no extra butter came with the extra toast. Got the impression that the owners are trying hard. Suggest they stay in a 5 star hotel to see what guests demand of 5 star prices.

We came on Easter Sunday for lunch, however, we were sadly disappointed to say the least. The menu outside looked extensive, but this belied what was actually on offer.The girl behind the bar couldn't have been more friendly, and the three of us, along with our small dog, sat in the bar area.Although the place was practically empty apart from 3 other people, the only table available for us all to sit around, still had dishes from what looked like the breakfast time (we were eating at approximately 12:30)We were told that food would be about half an hour (we didn't mind as at least it would have been fresh - how wrong we were)One meal was so burnt I wouldn't have given it to a paying customer. The other 2 meals were mediocre and not that appetising, but just about edible, although we ate them purely for the fact we were all hungry.And then, to top it all off, a man came from the kitchen area,dressed as a chef, he asked how the meal was - I told him that mine was "burnt" and he could see the remnants of the meal left on my plate. To which he just simply said "sorry" and shrugged his shoulders. Despicable for an establishment to be offering such dire food to unsuspecting,paying customers. We will certainly be NOT returning to this establishment.
