We have been going in Sarecens for a good while usually in an afternoon, we went in for a drink new years eve we walked in and the owners were behind the bar ( didn't say happy new year ) hardly any beers on.Later while we were there they bought out some sandwiches people standing at bar helped themselves then land lady put sandwiches on a table were locals were sat,we were not offered anything just felt really left out obviously only locals get the 5 star treatment. Also the toilets are awful really dirty.😭

On arrival we were greeted by a lovely man the Manager who gave us our keys for our room which when we went in was a lot larger than expected. We had 2 double beds a fridge and a large bathroom super clean and even a sofa to sit on if needed. Dog friendly in the room and pub dog was off the lead in pub watching us playing pool. Would recommend to everyone lovely place to stay 2 miles from seaside. Thank you 😊

DO NOT EVEN BOTHER Booked a table for 7pm for 2 people. Turned up for our booking and we were turned away saying no availability. Showed the rude man behind the bar proof of the phone booking we made. No apology, no explanation, just turned away!! Avoid at all costs. Shocking service

We stayed in this apartment for 3 nights over the Jubilee bank holiday. The apartment has two bedrooms and sleeps 6 people (2 sets of bunk beds). It is on a main road a few minutes drive from Chapel St Leonards, Ingoldmells and Skegness. There wasn't too much traffic during our visit so it was relatively quiet. The pub was celebrating the Jubilee and were playing music on two night which we enjoyed whilst sitting in the pleasant garden. We ate food from the pub on our first night and it was very good. Everyone seemed very friendly.

I've never written a review before I've left somewhere but ... There aren't enough positive words I can say about staying at The Cabin at the Saracens Head in Hogsthorpe. The owners are so welcoming, as are the locals in the Saracens Head. A wonderful relaxing atmosphere. The cabin, is the accomodation we stayed in, absolutely spotlessly clean, bright and cheery decor. Very comfortable and an excellent base between Skegness and Mablethorpe. The food in the Saracens Head is lovely and a meal for two with drinks for under £20 is amazing value. There were 2 of us staying with our little dog who did his best to charm all the customers in the pub. I/we REALLY recommend staying here and even if you don't stay, make sure you visit the Saracens Head.

We loved staying here, it's a lovely pub with great Guinness and food, 5 minutes drive from a lovely beach. The landlord and lady really did go above and beyond, getting us a fan for our room when it was far too hot and getting little yoghurts for our baby for breakfast. Thank you so much to the Saracens Head for a wonderful time, we will be back!

Called here for a drink to see if is worth another visit for dinner. Sat in lovely done garden, only to have it spoiled by lads swearing and describing the use of a hammer in the bedroom and not to put a picture up!!!. All this while 2 young children were playing round them. We were sat about 20+ feet away and heard every word. When we were leaving another customer of one of the holiday let's was saying to a lady she was all settled in now. The same lady who was with thses lads so had something to do with pub and never once told them to curb their language. Will not be going back.

stayed in the accommodation above the pub, we ate here twice with our dog, food is good and freshly cooked and the landlord was friendly and helpful, our dog was made very welcome. The pub was not very busy, however there was a crowd of four or five people stood at the bar each night we dined there who were very loud and rowdy and the language was very bad, not sure if they were friends of the landlord/landlady or locals but it was very off putting

Returning home from a dog walk on the beach one Saturday and fancied a quick lunch. Driving through the village and spotted the Saracens Head, it looked ok recently done up, clean and tidy etc. Lovely sunny garden. Warm welcome but poor choice of beers and limited menu. The food selection wasn’t an issue as we both fancied gammon, egg and chips. And the pint of Guinness was good. However, when the food arrived the eggs were way, way over cooked. Solid yolks and burnt white, over cooked and dry gammon but lovely chips... bit of a mixed bag really. Very reasonably priced, in fact probably too cheap, you can’t turn out top quality gammon, egg and chips and cover all the overheads for £7...Ate what we could and left unlikely to return. In this area there is plenty of good pub offerings if these people wish to succeed they need to improve the quality of their food significantly. It’s not always about price!

Went to this pub today with my 85 y at old Mum, as we’d passed it a couple of times while out and about. It advertises food on a board on the side of the building, but when we got there it’s closed until 3pm and no food until the weekend!!!! It’s Weds so if you aren’t open change the bloody adverts, I’m annoyed because it’s difficult having to try to accommodate for an elderly person...CHANGE THE ADVERTISING.

When we walked in the landlord said they do pub grub I asked if they did baguettes he said no just pub grub! Sorry never been to a country pub that doesn't do baguettes., ploughmans or jackets! Anyhow ordered York pud full of beef told no beef so settled for gammon and a scampi! What can I say it was awful barley cooked scampi really small portion and not even a whole old sprutting potato for chips between us. We ate it as it was half one and we had not eaten but I felt I had to say that we were very disappointed and said get a new chef to which he replied it's the wife who was swigging bud at the end of the bar when we walked in! Only nice thing is the church opposite! No offer of so much a coffee or dessert on the house just a .... oh sorry! Bypass this one if your in the area

popped in out of season, no real ale, food was dreadful, i had scampi which was actually 4 or 5 scampi bites (about 100 for £1 from Iceland !) and chips in a basket and the wife had a lasagne, pretty sure in was a tesco value range ready meal nuked in the microwave. the fat fryer was obviously not hot enough which meant the scampi bites and chips absorbed all the fat and were soggy and greasy. The landlord was pleasant but was more concerned with playing pool than looking after his patrons. Might be different during the summer months, might have just been an off day but we went for a Kebab in Chapel on the way home as food was simply disgusting.

It's possible that through being the only pub in the village some complacency has set in but that would be an excuse for just too many failings. 8pm on a Saturday night - a couple sit in the lounge quietly talking, two new diners walk in and sit at the bar and wait for a member of staff to appear. And they wait. And they wait. Whilst they wait they discover that the advertised cask ales are all off, leaving a gaudy pint of Bombardier or lager. Finally the barman appears and the beer is served. The menu is that of a particularly unambitious kitchen looking to make cash in the simplest, cheapest and most crude way. Such sentiment was reinforced by the barman who, when asked if extra chilli sauce could be added, replied that they were only single portions straight out of the microwave (and it was beyond the kitchen to add anything which the customer might want!). The barman laid out the cutlery for dinner and then explained that as they didn't have any normal dinner knives we'd have to use steak knives. Either he knew something we didn't or the chilli and lasagne we'd ordered was going to be hard to consume. In the flash of a Ping the food arrived and was cold in the middle, perhaps needed another 30 seconds on the Defrost setting.

I have often wanted to sit outside this cafe overlooking the beach/sea but it always seems busy without any spare tables. Today we sat at a spare table and just had a milky coffee each at around 11.00 a.m.. Firstly, the staff were friendly and efficient and the coffee which was very fairly priced was delicious compared to more expensive and pretentious “cafe latte” at other places. ( Thiscafe does offer lattes anyway!). The cafe was immaculately clean and tables were sanitised as soon as people left their tables. It helped that it was a perfect day for weather. 22 degrees with a hint of breeze. We will certainly go again especially as there were many attractive food items on offer at fair prices.

It's October half term and we were staying at Tattershall Lakes. It was so busy we couldn't get through by phone so we popped down and placed our order in person. Having seen they had a delivery to a caravan just along from us we asked if ours could be delivered at the same time (about an hour from ordering) They agreed, the food duly arrived and was delicious. Hot, big portions and even included some non-menu adjustments for our vegetarian daughters. Leftovers were eaten for breakfast before the 5 hour drive home!
