Very welcoming. Dog friendly pub, we had 3 small ones, no problem. Very accommodating as I'm a veggie n couldn't find anything on the menu I fancied so they found me an alternative. Defo coming back her next year when we're back in the area.

Always go when steak offer on. Food is presented well, well cooked and plenty of it. Very affordable for what you get. Free drink included to.

Very friendly landlord/lady it was a quiet lunchtime on our way to Gibraltar point.

A hideous experience from entrance to exit. I think this was hospitality at its worst. We entered the bar to order drinks, we were told to go into the conservatory and someone would take our drinks order....time went by...the pub didn't seem very busy, other customers entered, ordered their drinks at the bar and carried them to their tables. 15ish minutes later we still hadn't been served. I went to the bar and asked the young lady if we had been sent out into the conservatory and forgotten....We were served immediately. I ordered a black coffee and pint of guiness. To add insult to injury the small cup of coffee came in a chipped cup with a used dirty spoon. I took it back to the bar and eventually was served with another small black coffee. We were charged £8.10 for a pint of guiness and small black coffee. The apology received, I felt was empty, not backed up with any gestures or sincerity. I wondered if this is how you treat all of your new customers?

We went here on 23/09/24 James behind the bar was very helpful, my wife is coeliac and he really went out of his way to make sure the food she was eating was Gluten free. All the staff seemed very friendly. Well done guys👍👍

Always made to feel welcome with our dogs. We have been a fair few times over the last few years .never had a bad meal . Delicious food served and a good choice. Good selection of beers/ales Steak night is great valve and portion is generous. Very friendly staff and owners. Definitely worth a visit.

Love this place for food, the atmosphere is fabulous and the food is top tier! Never had a bad meal (can highly recommend the Sunday lunch). A lovely family pub run by friendly staff. Steaks are amazing, a range of specials. Wish I lived closer! Ignore the bad reviews (we actually witnessed one of the ‘incidents’ stated below and I can confirm this is not an accurate description!). Can’t wait to return!

We've been here countless times and haven't had anything but great things to say about the food. Sadly that changed tonight. It started with them getting our booking wrong and giving our table away but they sorted that. Next it took forever to take our order then the food didn't come out for over 1 hour, then when it finally did, after having to ask about it, they obviously rushed as they forgot to cook the beef burger which they served to the pregnant person (raw beef can cause miscarriages) when we sent it back we were told the chef would come out they never did and that we should have told them she was pregnant. It was only when we went to the bar ask to see them, that they came out. And that's when things went down hill the "chef" was convinced that it wasn't raw, even though the bun was red with blood. Its clear that she clearly doesn't know what cooked beef looks like but also need to retake her food hygiene. Minced beef (beef burgers) should never be cooked rare or medium rare as stated by the food standards agency. "Burgers cooked rare and medium rare carry a higher risk of food poisoning. Unlike a steak, a burger needs to be cooked through to reduce that risk" The fact that this "chef" completely denied all fault is just ignorance and disappointing. As we tried to have a respectful conversation she began pointing and shouting, leaving us in shock and again disappointed.

Stopped in hoping for food and drink after walking at snipe dales, had just missed lunch and was too early for tea, fail on our part, we stayed for a cider and sat outside, lovely grounds, calm lovely atomosphere, friendly host, will visit again for food next time.

We drove past on Monday night and liked the look from outside and after checking reviews (as you do!) decided to go for dinner on Tuesday. When we arrived there was a decent sized car park and on entering the pub we were greeted friendly. The menu wasn’t massive but had all the pub classics you would want and the pricing was good. When we recieved the meal wow!! The burger was soo good! They could definitely charge more for it, it was the best burger we have had in quite some time and the meat was so tasty. The team were really helpful and the waiter very accommodating for a fussy me wanting to remove half the bits that come in the burger!! Overall well worth a visit if you are in the area just a shame we don’t live anywhere near (4 hours away!!) or we would definitely be returning!!!

Lovely dinner, we all enjoyed our meals thoroughly. Halloumi burger was awesome, as was the chicken tikka masala and the George and Dragon Signature burger. Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back 😊😋

I was looking for a place to sleep/camp late during my bike trip late in the evening and was able to set up my tent behind the restaurant. The toilet block was very clean, shower with hot water. The owners were very helpful and I felt very comfortable.

Was staying close by with a pal and came down here for some food and pints. Special burger that was on that night was amazing, staff were sound, sorry to the wee guy who i think struggled to understand what we were saying half the time haha.

Hubby had a rib eye steak & said it’s one of the best he’s ever had. Welcoming and friendly staff. Nice bottle of sav blanc for under £20. Nice pint (or two) of Doom bar. Will be back next year.

Would definitely recomend we spotted this place on holiday in Lincolnshire. The owner was very welcoming especially to dogs. It was nicely decorated with a contemporary feel. Food was also really good they had some great offers especially on the steaks.

Service was slow. For ordering & the meal arriving over an hour. Food 4 out of 5 but expensive. It was Cold in their despite attempts to get the fire going We won't be returning

Booked in for a family meal for the 10 of us. Fantastic service, food was top notch. Steak Night was great value. (12oz Rump with a drink for £15). Lovely relaxed atmosphere and we were able to bring our two dogs. Will definitely return.

Another fantastic afternoon/ evening at The George and Dragon on our annual visit to Hagworthingham. James and staff welcoming as always. Food excellent as ever. 2 nights in a row, back on Tuesday for steak night.

I have lived around Horncastle area for many a year but have missed this pub out as usually too far away but today I had a chance to visit and to be fair I loved everything about it the meal was awesome the menu was awkward to choose from as everything sounded appealing but chose the rack of ribs and was delighted with every morsel .truly lovely..not a big eater but I stuffed myself..I would recommend this gaff to anyone..I had many moons ago a Sunday dinner there and that too was excellent ..in fact I'm going tomorrow for my dinner 10/10

Just moved to the area and tried this pub for the first time for lunch on Friday. Booked our table in the dog friendly area of the pub. The landlord was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Ordered fish chips and pie and mash. We shared the dessert of Eaton Mess. The plates were lovely and hot likewise the food. The food was cooked by the Landlord’s wife. The fish and chips were amazing. The fish was haddock and cooked perfectly. The batter was yummy. Served with mushy peas and tartare sauce. The best fish and chips I’ve had in ages. My husband said his pie was great. The pastry was perfect and the filling was full of meat. The vegetables were cooked not crunchy. The Eaton Mess was great and finished off the meal perfectly. Best to book as the pub was very popular at lunch time, which is good to see. The Landlord recommended a grapefruit soda as my soft drink - very nice indeed. We will be back.

We booked as we had driven past and thought it looked nice, we were right, warm welcome, lovely friendly service, they were very busy with a large table that had arrived before us, but the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and was worth the wait, my wife ordered butternut squash tagine, which was tasty and nicely presented, I had steak and ale pie with horseradish mash and fresh vegetables, all of which were delicious. The desserts were brought out and again were absolutely lovely, as I said although they seemed very busy the service was good and very friendly, will definitely be back next time we are in Skegness, and if your visiting the area pay a visit for the delicious food,you won’t be disappointed.

We stopped here for 3 nights in our motorhome on their adjoining campsite , I have reviewed the campsite on another dedicated website but suffice to say it was a 5-star rating as is our rating for the pub itself the staff were courteous, attentive and welcoming from the minute we arrived until we left and the food was excellent ,serve hot and tasty all in good time Barry and Marina

Stopping locally in our motorhome we decided to go out for Sunday lunch & WOW what a meal. We both had beef which was so tasty tender & melt in the mouth obviously from a large joint because the slices were huge, 4 veg plus roasts & mash, stuffing, chipolata & Yorkshires with a dousing of delicious gravy. Great selection of beers & wine all served by helpful & attentive staff. We will definitely be back soon b
