Willoughby Arms in East Lindsey

Just had a drink, so didn't experience the food, which I'm sure is good.

Really looking forward to our Sunday lunch, booked for 2pm arrived at 1.50pm, seated for 2pm, meal order taken at 2.17pm, meal finally arrived at 2.53pm (nearly 1hr after sitting down ) the Yorkshire pudding,meat and the roast potatoes were luke warm, when the man asked how things were I told him they were cold and he went into the back and I heard him say to the staff that I said things were cold. Nobody came and said anything, ate the meal as we were both hungry didn't bother with a pudding as people at the next table were still waiting for their puddings after half a hour, but mentioned the food was cold to the bar staff when I paid but they didn't seem bothered.

Had Sunday lunch on 8/9 it was amazing. Plenty of fresh, home cooked food. Pudding list was so varied my husband had two as he couldn't choose. Again they were all homemade. Staff so friendly and welcoming as we are not from the area. If your passing id 100% recommend

We were 10 minutes away for a week, so we were looking forward to using this local but it was closed Mon and Tues and limited hours the rest of the week.

Lovely publican who sat and chatted with us for a while. Nice quiet country pub. Didn't try the food but it smelled great!

We popped in for lunch today after seeing the pub had reopened recently. It had such a welcoming atmosphere and has been lovingly renovated. Great beers and lovely homecooked food at good prices. We'll definitely be returning!

We called in on the off chance, as there are few places to eat around Chapel St Leonard’s. We really enjoyed our meals and the dog was made welcome as well. Good selection of drink and food, the staff were attentive. It’s a shame we found it at the end of week away.

We went for Sunday lunch today took our little dog & she was most welcome. We had a gorgeous roast dinner I finished off with homemade Malteser Cheesecake absolutely delicious. Thank you Kim for looking after us & Ian & his wife for the scrumptious food xx

the new owners/staff are really lovely and very helpful in accommodating myself as a vegan and my vegetarian partner. we did book ahead and advised them of our dietary requirements and had several choices available.. which was appreciated. a quaint village pub with home cooked food. it won't be our first visit.

Just been to the Willoughby Arms for a Sunday lunch, what a beautiful roast dinner it was, plenty of lovely cooked meat on all of our dinners, the mash was buttery and as for the cauliflower cheese, well it just melted in your mouth, but the best was the meaty gravy, proper homecooked food. Puddings were super tasty aswell, the cheesecake was beautiful, but best of all was the staff, they were welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble, a must visit if in the area, you won't be dissapointed 😀

Didnt have food as called while the fete was on New owners are great and we will be over soon for a meal.

What a gem! We had never been to this pub before but were made to feel instantly welcome. We had the Friday fish and chip deal which was incredible for the price. Blue Moon was on tap and served with a slice of orange. We had 2 dogs in our party who were also most welcome with fuss and water. It’s very well supported by the locals and there are a lot of events throughout the month including sticky 13, bingo and music nights. It was too cold for the beer garden but that looked a nice additional facility for the warmer months. Toilets were very very clean - the men’s even had novelty urinals… We were visited at our table by a friendly local gentleman who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. He promoted the summer fete that will take place in July. We can see why this pub is successful- its got a unique local atmosphere that you just don’t get very often nowadays. We shall definitely return!

We visit my sister who lives in farlsthorpe near Alford and have been before and always loved the food, unfortunately our main course wasn't as good as we have previously experienced which was a shame as it was for her birthday. My wife's fish wasn't as nice as previously had and my pie seemed to have been microwaved a s pastry was soft and not firm as I would have expected. Shame really but I'm sure we will be back

Had an amazing night here. Lovely country pub, with friendly staff and excellent buffet and chilli.

Situated in the countryside with nice friendly service. We won't be returning though.

The Sunday lunch was fabulous 👌 staff, service and atmosphere 💯 % will definitely be going back

A lovely little village pub with a friendly atmosphere! Great choice of food, the Sunday roasts are gorgeous!!

The food as always was amazing , all fresh veg beautifully cooked. The plates are always hot so the food does not go cold, so important. Whenever you go the food is of the same quality. The staff always make you feel welcome, we take our little dog with us and he usually has a sausage. Sitting area outside, some is undercover and is always kept pristine, drink bowls for the dogs and a lovely grassed area for the children to play on. We would really recommend this as a lovely place to eat with the family and as a couple.

Fabulous birthday meal, celebrating with family and friends. Lovely food, very varied menu. Pleasant restaurant, large table, very fitting for such an occasion. Beautiful thatched pub in the award winning Tealby village.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch here for my Son's Birthday. Food was home cooked and good portions. Staff were welcoming and friendly.

Fabulous pub recommended by locals. We booked to make sure we had a table on a Thursday and while there were spaces we were informed weekends it is best to book. We ordered drinks that were brought to our table and food order was placed. The food we ordered was amazing, portion sizes were huge and the chips-wow!! Definitely worth a visit. Four meals and 6 drinks came in at just under £60

Had my mum's wake here after her green burial at Birdsong a couple miles away, the food was excellent. We opted for meals off the menu instead of a buffet because of food intolerances, every meal was done to perfection, big portions at decent prices everyone was impressed, well done to Tony the chef you did us proud! Picture of gluten free sausages and ribeye steak on a different visit! The men loved the beer barrel urinals 😆

Great pub who also helped with putting the plans together and making the Willoughby Summer Fete happen. Nice friendly staff, good food at good prices.

I've recently discovered this country pub, had a Sunday roast dinner there , so impressed, good quality food 😋 nice friendly atmosphere. Its now on my list of pubs to return to.

Review of Willoughby Arms May 2023 I've been trying to get here for the last couple of years but my vacant slots have never coincided with the pub's open/meal times . A late cancellation & I make Thursday lunchtime of their winter opening hours. SO glad I did. First the Batemans XB bitter is excellent . I opted for the main course of the “pie of the week” [steak & ale] which was home-made . It came with lovely home-made chips and a selection of four beautifully cooked vegetables. Followed up with lemon meringue pie & ice cream and another ½ of Batemans . The pub's location is excellent . Lovely village and lots of outside seating .The visit was a quiet day [mid-week off-season] but I imagine its a lot more popular as the weather improves . For those interested its also dog friendly. Please see the photo of the main course. As an holidaymaker I'm now back home but already looking to a return visit next month to try other items on the menu [& also need to fit in the Sunday roast – which I'd been recommended to]

Went just as it opened, waiting 15 mins to be even acknowledged, then finally to be told no space at all , won't go back as not wasting my time on a positive them saying no we found the most amazing pub elsewhere

Stumbled upon it eariier this year and have been back..it wasnt a dream after all ! Had surf and turf..oh wonderful, hubby had their pie…which was so good he was smiling all the way home It’s one of those wonderful hidden pub gems that makes you thank god they still exist

Lovely village pub with a nice menu of traditional dishes and several vegetarian options. Owners / staff very friendly and helpful. Several good beers by local brewery Batemans on tap. Would highly recommend. Suspect gets quite busy at the usual popular times so phoning to reserve a table might be wise.

Been here 3 times. Food and staff fantastic. Recommended Sunday lunch. Amazing. Hopefully we'll be back next year and will go back xx

The Willoughby Arms hosted the wake for my Aunt Marie, with family coming as far afield as Australia, Ecuador, and New Zealand. I only came from Derbyshire! They were helpful, food was presented well outside and a good outdoor area to sit and remember Marie and chat to family members

Welcoming and traditional country pub on a beautiful village green. Musicians were being welcomed on my visit, for a session in the bar.

Without a doubt the best batemans, not been in field a while, omg I wish I lived nearer, fish and chips looked and smelled fantastic. Landlord and lady super friendly, just go!!

Stumbled on this little gem by accident when the sat nav took us the wrong way. Great service, great home cooked food and great price. Dog friendly and in a pleasant location. Would definitely recommend and will visit next time we are in the area.

Lovely Sunday lunch but you may be kept waiting. Offers vegetarian options too, and they were both enjoyed. Vegetables were cooked nicely, and roast potatoes were 'as you expect'. The hot chocolate drink was a let down and the coffee wasn't brilliant but the Guinness was good. Only our 2nd time here so will update if needed.

Now this is such a great place and the owners are so welcoming. A place definitely worth a visit if you are in that area. 😊

We stopped here at lunchtime looking for a hearty pub lunch and were not disappointed. We had the pie of the day and the fish and chips and both were very tasty indeed. Both were perfectly cooked, with generous portions and very well priced. The beer was well kept and there was a choice of three real ales. Service was excellent and the landlord and landlady were very welcoming and helpful, would most certainly revisit.

A cheerful welcome followed by really quick food service. Fish and chips were delicious, piping hot and excellent value at £8.95.

Very good sized portions, cheap prices. Car park can get a bit full. Seats not that comfortable. Friendly staff.

In a sparce area of the country it was good to find a pub with real ales. Not surprisingly it was Batemans and I just had one excellent TripleXB. Obviously there were many locals enjoying the Friday evening.

Excellent food, wonderful bar staff - landlord and landlady. First class singer too. What more could we want.
