The best fish and chips ever, friendly and very helpful people. Nothing is too much trouble. Our grandson can’t wait to go back.

Always have been to this Chippy, its been one of my favourites for years(not like any of the other chippy's around) The turn over of staff has never affected the quality of food delivered from this restaurant. Owners very welcoming, friendly, nice to reminisce about the olden days and how the buisness is a family buisness. Great to see it still up and running. Always recommend this Chippy to people who ask. :)

Stopped here for a quick lunch during a day in Chapel St Leonards. Fish made to order and it was lovely. the special deal with mini fish, chips and sauce/gravy was cheap and a perfect size for lunch. They have seating inside which was a god send as it was raining. Thoroughly enjoyable visit.

Opening hours seem to be certainly random which can be frustrating. Food certainly wasnt awful, but I am fussy and the batter was a bit soggy and chips a bit under cooked for me

I have used this Chippy for years and I can honestly say they do not cook in Beef Dripping. Fact! Nor do they cook Fish or the Chips from frozen! Fact! If you should ever be dissatisfied with your meal they prefer you to speak to them directly in order to for them to rectify it, and not express your comments on here so they can’t. Everything is cooked to order and does not take long at all. Fact! For all the positive and lovely comments it is very much a pleasure to read and I will gladly let them know. I say I will let them know as they do not advertise! Fact! I do worry about the negative comments that can be damaging to all small businesses #keyboard warriors 😬 PS. This Chippy is opposite the Vine Hotel Car Park, next door to the estate agents!

Very disappointed. Fish was a decent size but greasy batter and slightly dry on the inside. The chips were almost white and hard

Called in here on a breezy Saturday after a walk along the beech. The chips were crinkled which was a nice touch. The fish was cooked to order, it wasn't greasy and it was very tasty. The tea was nice and all in it wasn't over expensive. BUT my portion of fish and chips was so small. I thought they had bought me a kids meal by mistake. One of my greatest fears with eating out is going home hungry, I left here hungry. Also we got the impression we were sat at one of the regulars table.

I ordered burger and chips and a piece of cod. Unfortunately no one conveyed this to the fryer so I stood there like a lemon during the gap of 25 minutes between the burger being cooked and the fish finally appearing, watching five or six people get their food while the woman behind the counter was oblivious to the fact I hadn't received ours. The fish was actually pretty good, but the burger was spoiled, lukewarm and frankly, bloody awful as a result of the delay. This is my local chippie but I haven't been back since. Suggest that if you go there you need to keep reminding the "serving" staff that you are waiting and ask them if your food is actually being cooked!

Visit to the seaside wanted fish and chips, as I'm gluten free I usually struggle. Not here have gluten free on the menu, also curry sauce. We both had regular fish and chips, mine was wrapped separately from husbands as he had normal.Great portions glad we didn't go for the large.

Had a couple of roasts today which came with free desserts. Meal was lovely, fresh, hot, just what you expect. We was really happy with that.....but....half an hour after leaving we realised we had left a bag behind. Money, cards, car keys, medication, all stuff hard to replace when on holiday. We returned to the Windsor and the lady who was serving, cleaning etc said she saw the bag as soon as we left, so put it safe behind the counter. Panic over. We can't thank you enough xxx

Can't begin to say how bad this pub was, miserable landlady and landlord and the worst food I have ever not eaten. I say not eaten as we didn't get through even a quarter of the plate of awful food we were offered. My husband said the beer was okay but please don't bother with the food it REALLY ISNT WORTH IT.

We went specifically to this venue for breakfast. We ordered different breakfasts and made some changes to one of them with the helpful counter staff. The tea in the tea pot was cold and we took it back for a replacement hot tea pot. The breakfast was brought to us by a member of staff who did not smile or speak. Having ordered extra well done bacon we were surprised to note that it certainly hadn't been even well done. The plates were cold and so was half of the breakfast, the rest of it cooling rapidly. The toast and prepacked butter were placed on the top of the breakfast and we had to use our fingers to try and get them off the top, even though there was nowhere to put them (have they never heard of side plates)? All in all, very poor. Customer care is clearly not a priority.

Visited here yesterday as we have done many times previously and i was on my VERY SMALL electric scooter (ES). It was quite busy but not full as it is fairly small inside. Myself and my scooter took up the same amount of sitting on the chair as i was situated so i didn't need to use their chair and if on a large bike this would not have been possible. However a young girl asked if i could leave my ES outside and walk in which i could not as not able to do so. I replied we have been in there previously and had never been an issue but she said the couldn't allow it when they were busy. I would not have gone in if i was going to cause an issue or restrict any of the pathways and so i felt i had to leave, which we did. However there was 3 tables occupied by approx 12 men who were blocking pathways and not eating anything and were loudly talking to each other across the tables who were who were quite clearly obstructive but seemingly that was ok !!! I am disgusted in this day and age that such discrimination persists and i will not use them again. Perhaps they need to add a sign to the windows stating people with mobility aids would not be allowed in busy periods. Totally Disgusted. LInda Halls
