This place is amazing. The food is top quality and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The best Italian food I've ever had.

Enjoyable full English breakfast. Fast friendly service and the place looked clean, you can see in the kitchen and that looked spotless. One small complaint, would have liked a branded brown sauce.

Clean and friendly service, food lovely and hot and very reasonable, also it is licenced, thought we would try this place and wasn't disappointed.

The food at this restaurant is very good and very big ( AAA). The only problem with this restaurant is the waitresses. Of the three waitresses, only one give us good service that is Maily. Por todo lo demás lo recomiendo, cocineros, comida, etc.....

Dad recommended this place, said it was run by Italians, but you didn’t necessarily have to have Italian food. So was sceptical until I walked in, received a warm welcome & looked at the extensive Italian & typical English menu. Run by friendly Italians, had one of the best carbonara I’ve ever had. Lots of Italian dishes & pizzas on the menus, alongside your usual British classics. Worth a visit!

We tried here for a meal and were disappointed The pricing is similar to top restaurants unfortunately the dishes weren’t We had steak pie which was poor quality bland small amount of meat with a wierd topping similar to a burnt tortilla?? Also had tuna jacket which had a small amount of tuna and a tiny portion of salad Drinks are ridiculously expensive The servers weren’t at all friendly and all spoke in a foreign language

Well been using this restaurant since it opened in its current (and when it was tiger cafe before) and we have never been treated as badly as well tonight. A nice young waitress who has served us many times took our order. The other waitress a larger lady brought our steaks and my son asks which was which 2 were to be cooked differently she absolutely gleard at him with eýes wide oped and snapped at him..there all the same...it was terrible. We ate our food and decided to leave pudding because we were so upset. I went to pay and again the same waitress was at the counter..she glared with wide open eyes and and said are you going to pay...I had my card in my ready to pay....absolutely disgusting behavior. We had breakfast there as well this morning so have spent over £100 today and Intended to have breakfast and dinner tomorrow..NEVER AGAIN WILL WE SET FOOT IN THAT PLACE.

The lovely lady who took our food requests this morning in May was so friendly and had a great rapport with all of the customers on the outside seating. Nice to be able to have a vegan option or two too. The toilets are in there, just to the left.

We came into the Trunch on a whim after shopping. From the outside and the decor it looks like a normal cafe. However the food is on another level! I Had the sea bass that came out beautifully cooked on a bed of muscles and a delicious sauce. The fish had a beautifly crispy skin with buttery flesh. This is truly a hidden gem with delicious food, great service, good value for money and a friendly atmosphere. My wife has several aleggies and they went above board to cater for them. I came in expecting a cafe. I'm leaving feeling like I just ate at the Ritz. The food alone is easily worth 3 rosettes.

Called in here after reading & viewing images on TripAdvisor. So glad we did ,had 3 meals, all very good, Mini grill, pollo in peppercorn, & a pizza, food was delicious, this is not cafe food ! It was presented lovely, & was our best food in Chapel. Don't be fooled by it being called a cafe , we nearly was . Thanks again to the staff.

Called twice to this cafe first time had the steak pie pots and peas excellent pie nice meet so thought we would call again this time tryed their 1/2 pound cheese burger and chips for around £8 what a let down chips more bits than proper chips the burger wasn't bad tastered but this wasn't a large burger has advertised so more than likely won't bother calling again

Had breakfast a couple of times perfect & hot and came out quick also had the takeaway pizza meal brilliant

Really slow service. Took us ages to get our breakfast. 2 ladies seemed more interested in chatting up the locals who they obviously knew. This used to be a great place to eat. Time to sort it out.

Cafe is clean, staff are polite and food is excellent. Pasta & chicken dishes are extremely tasty. Pizza & garlic breads are light and delicious. We found this place in Sept 21 and enjoyed our food then and was happy to return in April 22. Will defo be back.

Food was lovely when it eventually arrived. Didn't seem to have enough staff on a busy bank holiday weekend. Other tables received their food before us which is alway annoying. I think they're trying to do too much here and would benefit from cutting down on the menu, working smarter and training waitresses. As previously said on here Toilet could do with upgrading.

Was one of our favourite places ,this season has been dire after last few visits trying to give them benefit of doubt its a def no from now on go every sat £40/50 ,poor quality wrong orders ,no beer on pump ,staff overworked not enough In the times of covid I really like to support ,wish this place really wanted your business

Visit here on a regular basis however the last few visits have been terrible. The waiting time was way longer that it should be and when asked was told repeatedly 5 mins which turned out to be 35 minutes which is unacceptable. When the food came it wasn’t a good standard which was disappointing. The tables are far too close together. The sauce bottles need to be wiped more frequently. Also would be advisable not to put the cutlery on the table before seating as you don’t know whose touched it beforehand. Toilet could do with a updating too. Also it is soooo hot in there

Doesn't look much from the outside but don't let that put you off. I had the most delicious lasagne from here & my husband had the breakfast (served up until 1pm) which he enjoyed. The latte's are especially good! Would certainly return.

Went on our first day of our holiday and found this to be a little gem. High quality mixed grill and gammon and my son said he had the best pizza he's ever had.

By far the best coffee in town serving all the best Italian coffees. The food was lovely too and can recommend their omelettes. Sitting outside with our 2 Whippets was never a problem.

Been going to Trunch Lane Cafe for over four years. Food is good but not consistent enough. Sometimes excellent sometimes average sometimes poor. Such a shame as when you get it on a good day food is excellent. Red wine is beautiful. Chocolate pancake amazing. A little more attention to detail is needed. On our last visit the tables were clean however sauce bottles, vinegar bottle and salt and pepper pots were disgusting and needed a wipe. Decor could do with improvement as well. With there not being enough eating places on Trunch Lane if they improved these issues could be amazing. Staff very friendly. Toilet definitely needs improving.

This is somewhere that we have visited every year we come on holiday but the standards seem to have dropped. Start with the positive my wife was happy with her burger except instead of a tomato slice she got quarter of a tomato seemed a little odd.

Nice restraunt, friendly staff , very clean nice atmosphere. We ordered a special two chips, egg ham and salad. Chips were nice and crispy eggs were done just right ham was not plastic ham and salad was crispy. Coffee was fantastic I had a cappuccino and it was frothy and strong .My Partner had an Americanno . The only disappointment was the toliets no hot water to wash your hands and the lock was crudely attached to the door.

Went here last weekend with my son and his girlfriend for breakfast and was lovely so thought this weekend id take my hubby as a treat as had been so nice before but oh what a difference a few days can make very dissapointing the sausage seemed very poor cheap quality compared to previous weekend hash brown undercooked and toast barely coloured with very little butter but that was only spread in the centre even the bread with butter was only spread in the centre. Such a shame. The staff are so lovely and welcoming but food poor so will not return.

We ordered a take away pizza, it's one of the best iv ever had. Reminds me of the ones I had in Italy, great price too

Every time we go to our van we always come here for a 'belly buster' breakfast. It is by far the best breakfast in the area. (all items on the menu are spot on too!) More than generous portions. Great brew! Always a little busy. But that's to be expected, only a small cafe but it really us decent. I'm still yet to try an evening meal here, my mother in law absolutely loves the lasagne here. She even gets done to take home and only ever eats it from here now! Worth a try. Staff are friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. Great service. Great food.

We came across this restuarant by chance but are so glad we did. The breakfast was lovely and a great way to start the day. Lots of choices and you do not have to stick to a fixed meal. Karen the waitress was very friendly and attentive. We went 5 out of 6 mornings for our breakfast. Pity it is closed now for the winter but we will definitely revisit the next time we visit Chapel.

Excellent breakfasts, nicely cooked and nicely served in a friendly atmosphere. Also tried the evening menu and had a lasagne to die for. Very very nice and highly recommended. Reasonably priced and also an excellent takeaway service for breakfast.

Han estado aquí varias veces durante el año. La comida en general es buena, pero el lugar está vacío de ambiente. Necesita clasificar como luces son muy bajos. Al pasar no puedes ver dentro. Muchas veces tenemos en y sólo había 2/otras 3 parejas. Una cosa que no me pongan a ir allí es el hecho de que el personal sentarse en las mesas fuera de la fumar y tener un café cuando no están ocupados.

Ha sido para el desayuno hoy. La comida es increíble relación calidad-precio y el personal es muy agradable y amable. Vale la pena una visita. El desayuno es bastante grande para el precio que pagamos y será un lugar que visitar. Única manera que podría ser mejor si estaba mirando hacia el mar.

Just had a lovely take away from here and as usual food was lovely . The takeaway is as good as the eat in food . Sat and had a lovely glass of rose and a chat with staff while I waited . Nothing is too much trouble here and the food is amazing value for money

Had breakfast here for several mornings whilst on holiday in nearby caravan park. Only £2.50 for a small breakfast. Very tasty, eggs cooked to perfection. Lovely, friendly staff. Would recommend.

Went on a Sunday for a carvery they have a choice of beef turkey and lamb, I chose the lamb which is already sliced for with a good variety of fresh vegetables well worth a visit and good value at 6.50

This was my first time at Chapel; I'd gone to visit my family who were on holiday. We decided to nip out for Sunday lunch, but as I had my dog with me we were limited as to where we could go.We noticed a couple with a dog sat outside The Trunch Lane Cafe/Restaurant and we spotted the carvery board, so we decided to stay. I am so glad we did.The staff were professional, friendly and very polite and efficient.We all had a carvery. The beef melted in your mouth. It was good old-fashioned English snap and it was cooked perfectly, none of this bleeding stuff you tend to see nowadays that you expect to get up and run off your plate. The vegetables were firm, the Yorkshire puddings were crisp and the gravy was medium thickness (not like that watery stuff a lot tend to serve up these days).All in all it was a very pleasant experience with the food being perfect for our taste.We will definitely be going again :)

came in two days running With the family 5 kids 2 adults for breakfast which is no easy task they were very accommodating,helpful 7 different breakfast ordered all came together after a short wait (5 mins) all kids finished with not one "I don't like this " if you are anywhere near here I recommend you pop in for food it's great great staff and the foods brilliant and not over price and you walk out with full bellys you can't ask for anymore

This area is crying out for some decent places to eat, there are lots of places but they tend to be very low quality and over priced - this place is the best option on trunch lane in my opinion, we have been for breakfast and sunday lunch, the breakfast was nice, standard English breakfast at a reasonable price - the Sunday carvery however was fantastic and only £6.50.My only criticism would be the friendliness of some of the staff, could be improved, not rude at all just leave you to it.Good service, nice food and would recommend spending that little bit more and eating here.

Visited the Trunch Cafe a couple of times this week and the food is absolutely fantastic. We visited last year and the lady who served us was very lovely, she recognised us from last year and the service as well as the food is second to none. It is good value for money also. Worth a visit for sure. Both of my boys love it there as it is child friendly, my youngest can vouch that the Spaghetti Bolognese is lovely

Food was decent for the price, we only had breakfasts but couldn't complain although the sausages tasted cheap. Pretty spacious and staff weren't as bad as other places around this area

I came here for breakfast and was greeted by a very friendly lady who suggested the "Mega Breakfast" as I said I was hungry. I asked that the bacon was cooked really well done. I also ordered coffee which was served almost as soon as I sat down. The breakfast arrived within six minutes. It looked lovely, well presented and piping hot. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the beans weren't stodgy and the Bacon was cooked well done as I'd asked for. Even the toast was hot. I was very impressed not only with the excellent, friendly and helpful service but also the delicious breakfast which was so big that I didn't eat for hours afterwards! It was so good that I came back the next day for a repeat performance! I would recommend anyone to come an eat here. The place is big enough to absorb pushchairs without causing inconvenience and even wheelchairs could travel up and down the rows of tables and chairs with ease. I personally can not fault the Trunch Cafe. Ten out of ten!!!

After the first time last Saturday which we had was coffee and carrot cake, which was yummy, we saw a sign saying cavery on Sundays, so we came back on the following Sunday Which was 10 th April 2016, the cavery was excellent, the lamb and beef was melt in the mouth and veg and pots and gravy was perfect, would recommend, thanks again and see u soon

This place has a fabulous menu but just missing the trick by always being out of stock of something or something missing off the plate it is a shame as not much else on trunch lane having tried the others please get it together for next season

food was nothing special ordered a belly buster brekky to be told they had no hash browns and they would put me extra bacon on to which i didnt get the coffee tatsed awfull they came out and took my plate before i had even finished eating and it was pricey to say the least would not go back and would not reccomend

First of all, if you have just accepted a table of 15 people, then please have the good grace and manners to let prospective diners know and don't keep them waiting for over an hour for their food! And please remember that when the food is also inedible an hour later, that the least you can do is not CHARGE them for their drinks! Dreadful waitress who thought she owned the place and NO, WE WON'T BE GOING BACK! Full gourmet restaurant prices for complete rubbish!

We've holidayed as a family at Chapel Saint Leonards for the last three years and have used this cafe quite a lot. In the mornings they do a fantastic range of cooked breakfasts, in the evening they become a family orientated Italian style restaurant. The Pizzas and pasta are gorgeous as are the traditional British dishes and it really is exceptional value for money My only criticism is that the waiting staff can be a little slow, other than that I really can't fault it.

This cafe will not disappoint you, it may not look like much but it represents good value, beautiful Italian and English food! Well worth a visit 5 star!

Having visited this undiscovered restaurant a couple of nights ago i was desperate to share our experience. The service from start to finish was second to none and the food even better! I had seabass served with king prawns portions were huge and such good value for money. This chef and this restaurant are wasted in trunch lane. Deffinatly worth a visit for evening meal......cant wait to return!!

Poor and very slow service. Had brekkie which took 15 mins as fresh cooked which i didnt mind however burnt toast, cold fried egg and more rind than bacon. Never again

Really lovely food, the Italian food was especially good, the pizzas and calzones are fantastic. You can sit in the licenced restaurant or take away to your caravan. Very nice staff.

Food nice. Waitress has Alzheimer's until they're reminded that you've ordered. Drinks went cold before meal arrived. Butter not spread on bread, just dolloped on!

Wellcome & friendly staff efficient service,we had the medium breakfast very good quality given choice of Lincolnshire or pork sausage.Had coffee which was lovely & you get enough for 2 cups,whole meal came to £14-10 for 3 of us very good value,will definitely be regular customers

I have visited this cafe since the first day it opened and have never been disappointed, the food is locally sourced and of the best quality, everything is cooked fresh to order. I understand that they did have a food hygiene visit on a busy bank holiday when things did get overlooked and we have been assured that steps have been taken to address this and ensure it does not happen again. The cooking of the food is in full view of the customers and the staff are always cleaning when they are not busy which is reassuring to see. It is a shame that people with personal issues with the owner have to resort to bringing down an excellent cafe which was well needed in the area just out of spite when surely we are reviewing the business and it's qualities.

DIRTY DIRTY would never eat in there and not even feed my dog in there Do not Eat !!!! And the owner is rude and people that work there look like they need a bath a VERY DIRTY CAFE !!!

Recently visited this restaurant and came away with terrible stomach aches, spent the next few days on the toilet. I have since checked the rating of this place and although they're displaying a 4 star, they're actually a 1 as if August this year. Disgraceful.

Not many that eat here realize that the cafe was only given a food rating of 1 earlier this year , A big Improvement is needed.

I visit this cafe nearly every time Im in Chapel St Leonards (alot!) and it never disapoints. The food is delicious, always piping hot and not expensive. They often have a 2 for £11 deal on a couple of dishes. Kids love it there too, they have proper highchairs and there is plenty of space inside. Outside seating for nice weather or for smokers, even a bowl of water for the dogs!! Right next to the beach too. What more could you want? I personally recommend the Lasagne!
