Maid Marian pub in East Lindsey

First time back as Chapel since lockdown and nice to see changes at Arches and the old Bellbank on Trunch lane. We knew that The Maid Marion had changed so we thought we'd try it. Having eaten here numerous times and never being disapointed. We arrived just before the kitchen closed and we're told we had two minutes to order so we quickly ordered two meals and drinks and for £37 we expected a decent meal. Steak and Ale pie and chips. Cold soggy chips, pie reheated in a microwave, soggy pastry, congealed gravy also cold. Cheese burger, onion rings, chips and salad. Everything was cold apart from the burger which was so over cooked it was almost black. The salad consisted of a few limp lettuce leaves, all in all a very disappointing meal. We understand that we were just in time for ordering food but that should not mean a reduced service, our meals were rushed and prepared carelessly. The alterations look nice and have added to the general appeal of the place and in some ways explain the rather high prices. We will not return as it is not as good as when it was Maid Marion, for a pub in such a prominent position it should be doing better, it looks the part but fails miserably in it's execution.

Looks lovely after the recent refurbishment with the blue lighting. Mainly dining tables and chairs with the exception of 2 Chesterfield settees, not really a "lounge" area for only having a drink. Sunday carvery was lovely - with the exception of the Yorkshires (could use them for door stops!) Quite a good menu but quite expensive, drinks are pricey too. Friendly & efficient staff.

Was away at the weekend and fancied a Sunday carvery so decided to go to the maid Marion pub. There was 5 of us but as soon as we got in there was told by a member of staff (unpleasant)the the carvery had finished which is fair enough but it was their attitude and the hotplate was very much full of food which they would rather throw away and waste money than send 5 minutes extra serving food was really disappointed and understandable happy but went next door to the fish and chips restaurant and was fantastic, hot food and very friendly staff

Decided to try here again after going before when it was maid Marian’s. Wish we wouldn’t have bothered food was nowhere as nice as it use to be! Gammon was fatty and the steak wasn’t so great either. We were highly disappointed as this was our wedding anniversary meal! Definitely won’t be going back!

Took the family here for lunch, I thought it seemed quite expensive at first but I definitely got what I payed for. I had a pulled pork burger, it was served in a pretzel style bun the burger was thick and juicy and the chips were amazing, probably the best chips I’ve ever had. The staff were really helpful too

Far too expensive, unhelpful staff, spent nearly an hour waiting for food, the food was awful. Grissle in the meat, very fatty gammon. They had ran out of our 1st and 2nd choices from the menu.

Visited here before we went into the golden palms and we were very impressed! The food was delicious and great value for money. Fast service and very helpful staff. Left with everyone full of great food and very satisfied!

We recent ate here, and the meal was fabulous.. A lot better meal since the place was modernised. Highly recommend..

Recently had a refurb which has gave it a nice modern feel. Good food reasonable prices and family friendly

Been here twice in the last few weeks & had scampi, chips & peas, OMG it was absolutely gorgeous, lovely place nice staff will definitely be coming again soon

Nice, clean, tidy, drinks a bit pricey but the food was superb and cost reasonable. We always eat here on Sunday when we vist CSL about three times a year and have not been disapointed yet.

Ordered cottage pie, chips , peas and gravy, why everything has to come out in separate dishes I don't know, when I order and pay for food I don't expect to plate everything up myself on my plate, the chips which is as far as I got tasted like soap, I took a taste of the pie which tasted the same was not edible and took it back, now im not a fussy eater but I expect the food ive paid for to be edible and decent enough to eat, unfortunately it wasn't and don't think I'd be eating here again

Visitied a few times over the course of the holiday food is fantastic drinks are reasonable and staff are friendly i will visit againwhen here

went to maid marian pub have a carvery on sunday 19may2019 service very quick got ticket straight to cavery food apsolutly yummy only complaint wish ihad medium went for lge and was lge stuffed myself as did want to waste such lovely food cant ait for my next one in june yay

Visited this pub whilst staying at Golden palm resort.

We have visited this pub 3 times whilst on holiday as the food is so nice and very good value for money .We especially enjoyed the Sunday carvery .It was £7.95 for 2 meats and as much veg and potatoes as you wanted .It was piping hot and cooked to perfection .I would certainly recommend this pub for food.

After the recent refurbishment now called JW’s. Looks amazing after refurb however there doesn’t seem to be much atmosphere in there. Staff ok but definitely need training on cocktails. Bought two cocktails for £10 but they never had half the ingredients and when they arrived we’re disgusting. No discount was offered. Food there average. Needs to be warmer when it comes out. Feel when it’s busy will it be enough tables or seating.

Decided to try this place as it has been renamed to jw's, not realising it is the sister restaurant to Woody's which we have been to before and enjoyed. So the menu is the same. I had lasagne and my boyfriend had chicken tikka masala. Both were really good size portions and the chips were beautiful. Will definitely visit again

Nice food, good quality. My daughter had ham sandwich which came out with crisps and salad. The ham was good quality thick ham. Theres a few machines to keep kids amused a little while if they have £1 coins.

Went in two times very good food and big portions there is 2 for £12 from 12 till 5 but had off other menu only cost around £9 each would definitely recommend

first time we went the steak was beautiful prices bit high but not extortionate the hunters chicken I was told was lovely too the chips salad and other sides were just as good the other time they had sold out of the rack of ribs burgers were nothing special and bit too spicy for my liking think should have just stuck to the first visit

Called her for Sunday Lunch whilst on holiday at Golden Palm, the carvery was amazing and well worth a visit.

So I know it's a basic "pub grub " type of place situated on the Golden Palms resort so the family just wanted burger and chips etc. They couldn't get 4 meals out at the same time, 3 items we not available off the menu, I ordered Yorkshire pud with 3 Lincolnshire sausages (as I was in Lincolnshire ) it came with 2, honest , so I sent it back and asked for the other one , this took 20 minutes by which time the kids had finished. My wife's dinner never turned up so we chased , it came and the scampi was not cooked in the middle.Sent it back, asked for a refund, then my dinner came out , It was too late by then.

Been here a few times over the years. Place is even better since they added the conservatory to create more space. Must say the gourmet cheeseburger and rustic chips was gorgeous. Magners in bottle was £4. Service great and nice family pub.

Went here for the Sunday Cavery we had the large £8.50 3 meats, although I forfeited one meat for a Piece of steak pie for the money you can’t really complain good quality and plenty of if that’s what you want, we went at 12.45 only thing I would say go a little earlier to miss the queue which didn’t take long to go down but we noticed hour later it was smaller so we must of gone peak time and also children’s holidays so this didn’t help, the staff was great after reading some of the reviews I didn’t know what to expect but it was very busy and all we came in contact with was more than courteous but then again it’s down to how you treat them sometimes a please and thank you don’t cost you anything and is rewarded with the same back

Wont be back, will go to Ingoldmells or Skeg in future. Unfiendly staff who glare at you before you're even in the door, quite intimidating at the bar. Dirty pub. Only chance of a good night is if you're drunk before you arrive and there's a group of you having a laugh.

We decided to try something new so we had a wonderful meal in this pub. Good food which was piping hot when it came out and lots of different choices on the menu to suit all. Also do carvery which would be nice to try. We also had pudding which was very nice. Lovely pub, would recommend
