It was a huge disappointment. I had planned a relaxing spa day with my husband, but this place was nothing like a real spa. There were only two small cabins with a sauna and jacuzzi, hidden away in a scruffy corner of the hotel. Lounge chairs were awkwardly placed in the hallway. The outdoor pool was freezing, and of course, we got the usual speech about it being a "health pool," but that was just an excuse—it was simply a regular pool exposed to the rain. The lockers in the changing room didn’t even have keys. The moment I saw it all, I felt like crying.

Came for dinner. The mains and desert were brilliant. The owner’s response to reviews: glorious Would happily come again and recommend to friends

Perfect as we’re not from the area we came here approximately 4 yrs and 2 yrs ago and the Sunday lunch was perfect. We returned today as wasn’t disappointed thank you Faye and Beth 10/10 Lord and lady Butcher See you in a few years 👍🏼

First visit to fairways for a look round with my wife and wasn’t disappointed . The new home section stocks a lot a beautiful items, garden centre full of beautiful stuff as well . Topped of with a bite to eat in the restaurant Good value for money , tasty food , nice coffee and pleasant staff Highly recommend a visit Mike & karolina

We were a pet free traveling couple who were very impressed with the cleanliness of the room and ensuite it was spotless given that they do allow pets to stay. Every request from parking early to gluten free breakfast (I’m coeliac) was accommodated faultless stay no negatives to report would stay again

Ordered food as per usual. My chow main was that salty it was inedible. My children's chicken fried rice was that salty it was unedible. All the other dishes were unedible because of salt. I rang them to explain that in the past its never been a problem. She told me she was unable to process a full refund, only partial because the sauces they use are pre made and poured over the food. (Authentic) not! I explained the food i paid for was chucked in the bin because it was crap, she couldnt refund me for because it was in the bin and unhygienic. Well shell get it back on the door step at 6am. I'm down 60 quid, And had more joy out of a packet of super noodles. Oh and she hung up on me!!!!! Bad move!

Keep trying and trying with this chippy - but that is sadly it for us now. The chips were a grey colour - some chewy, some raw ?! You could have eaten the gravy with a knife and fork. Sausage was mediocre but at least edible. So turned out we had an expensive sausage sandwich each at £13 (thank goodness we bought a bread cake too!). My local money will be going elsewhere now sadly.

The pub is so uncomfortably cold.. you can't even sit in there.. everyone was saying & they put no heating on.. we went home

Sadly, some of the dishes did not live up to our expectations. Price wise, it was high for what it was, especially the wine per bottle.

Purchased a 99 and one for my partner from the van £10 what a rip off when challenged answered very arrogant it is Bakewell and I pay £40,000 for pitch. Rubbish ice cream and even worse service. Never again.

Booked for two nights to celebrate our 20th anniversary. All members of staff were absolutely first rate, courteous and extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The newly refurbished room was very well appointed with a complimentary bottle of Prosecco to help us celebrate, very much appreciated. All the meals were had there were fantastic, good value and delicious. We look forward to returning in the future. Thank you!

Proper Sunday lunch - beef and all the epic trimmings. Wonderful atmosphere, full of life and yet the food came really quickly which was a pleasant suprise! Sylvia looked after us really well, brilliant all round.

We visit this Toby almost every week and we always enjoy the carvery and we receive excellent, friendly customer service from the staff especially Leanne and kylie.

Popped in on a day visit to Matlock. I had a fishfinger sandwich, and my husband had the mad hatters burger. All food came out hot and freshly cooked. The staff were all friendly and welcoming even though on a sunny Saturday they were very busy. Definitely would come again.

10 of us booked in here for a late Sunday lunch, it was the first time for all of us and I've got to say it was excellent, we were lucky with the weather so had a few drinks in there lovely garden after doing a walk, then went in for food which again was excellent, all 10 of us thoroughly enjoyed what we had, the staff/service was top notch, first class, right from booking the table a few weeks earlier, We all said we'd like to go back there again when we go to the peak district next time and would all recommend it
