Wonderful stay (again). Great atmosphere and great food at very reasonable prices. Special mention for the lovely ladies who work so very hard in the bar and restaurant - always smiling, cheerful and nothing is too much trouble. Sadly, same can't be said about the landlord.

We recently stayed here over a weekend with friends. It was amazing!! The service was fantastic and the staff are lovely and friendly. Very welcoming place. Fabulous menu and delicious food for both dinner and breakfast. This made our weekend so special. Love the room, toiletries supplied and a good night’s sleep was had by all. A hidden gem in the most wonderful village. Thank you very much indeed. Really nice place and highly recommended. 5* Well done!

It was busy but not packed so was hard to understand why the grumpy bar manager was shouting at customers’ kids and being rude to people with dogs! Maybe he’s in the wrong job! One of those cases where they have a captive audience being the only pub in the village, but for drinks and food I would suggest there are much better places locally - try the Moon at Stoney Middleton down the road, lovely pub and very friendly people or Bloom in Eyam for great food and drinks (and a lovely welcome).

We turned up twice, without booking, and both times we were able to eat in the bar. The food was delicious. Between us we had the steak pie, the chicken, and then the lamb. All the meat was delicious and the vegetable accompniments were equally as good. Service was quick and the pub has a great atmosphere. Dont forget that they dont serve food on a Sunday evening - Im not sure about during the day.

My wife and I spent three nights at the Miners' Arms, using it as a base for visits to Matlock, Haddon Hall and other places in the Peak District. Our room was clean and well furnished, and the bathroom was spacious enough to accommodate a bath, not a shower (thank goodness). There was a touch of mould on the bathroom ceiling, however, and the decor of the pub was a little tired-looking. Dinner each evening took a fairly traditional turn, with dishes such as roasts, steak and kidney pie and cod and chips. Helpings were always generously sized, and no diner would ever be likely to get up from the table feeling hungry. The one disappointment was the unvarying nature both of the main menu and the specials board; neither changed once during our visit. Breakfasts were likewise of a high standard, although the very late start - at 8.30am - was a bit of an inconvenience. Reception on arrival and service at meal times were both in the hands of a group of very helpful and pleasant young ladies who seem in practice to run the place. The licensees or owners, at least at the time of our visit, were wholly invisible. Eyam is a very quiet village, and there is no noise from the bar, which anyway empties out after about 9pm.

Brilliant pub. This was our third stay here. We live a stomp around the Peak District between Christmas and New year, the pub is dog friendly, so that was why we first chose it, but the place is just excellent which is why we come back! The staff are very friendly and helpful and service is good. Food is superb, the portion sizes are huge. We stayed three nights and ate there every night. Breakfast is also good, just right to set you up for a day in the hills. The pub is small and can get busy, you need to get in quick for a spot by the fire! A good range of beers including locally brewed ales. The room was spacious, comfortable with a good hot shower. We recommend the Miners Arms to anyone looking for a break in the Peak District.

An absolute gem. My husband and I stayed for one night along with our dog. The Miners Arms is in the most beautiful village of Eyam. We were made very welcome on arrival and our room was a double bed, with bath/shower, ground floor with our own door access. Great for us with the dog. We had an evening meal in the pub. I had roast pork dinner and my husband had individual steak, mushroom and ale pie. We had a side dish of vegetables. The meal was well presented and tasted delicious. For dessert I had the banoffee roulade and my husband had bread and butter pudding. I thought the price for the evening meal was very reasonable. Again both were really good. Did wonder if it would get noisy as our room was on the front of the building but no. It was so peaceful. Next morning we were looking forward to the full English breakfast and it didn’t disappoint us. Piping hot and again so good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend.

Popped in here on the off chance after a very wet walk around and above the village . We hadn't booked and it was during the Eat Out period so weren't too hopeful. However, we only had to wait a few minutes whilst tables were checked and one found. We liked this pub. It's traditional but not old fashioned. Good Covid prep too. Service was friendly but efficient. As to our food, my broccoli and Stilton soup had to have been the hottest temperature ever. Not that I'm complaining as luke warm soup is a particular bugbear of mine. The soup comes with a choice of sandwich which is a step up on a crusty roll. A little more expensive but with the dine out deal, very good value. Can't comment on full dishes but would love to try on our next visit, hopefully not dripping on the carpet :-)

Visited on a cold winter’s day. There was a regular stream of diners - some clearly local and others visitors to Eyam. Everyone was warmly welcomed by the bar staff as they entered. The Miners Arms offers a wide range of food; there’s one menu with the usual pub grub (sandwiches, pie, burgers, fish etc) and a specials board with more unusual fare. We were served with generous portions of very tasty and piping hot food - perfect on a cold day. The venison and orange casserole was particularly good - a large dish of succulent venison with plenty of sauce; one bowl with three servings of seasonal veg and another of potatoes. Overall, one of the best pub meals we’ve ever had at a very reasonable price.Whilst the Miners Arms is a traditional pub, the walls have been painted in a pale colour giving a feeling of light. There’s a car park to the rear. We’ll certainly be back next time we are in the area.

We were looking for a place for dinner in the vicinity and our usual favourite was fully booked, so we decided to try The Miners Arms. We were given a friendly welcome on arrival and shown to our table. The restaurant has a good atmosphere and the decor is well done. We made our choice - sweet and sour chicken for the OH and Mushroom Stroganoff for me. The restaurant was busy and the food arrived some time later. Both meals were well presented, although the Stroganoff was a light orange colour rather than the mushroom colour which I would have expected and was very bland - dare I suggest a packet sauce? We would return, but would probably not have mushroom stroganoff again!

Food was good. We stayed in Room 7 for 4 nights. The bedding and towels were clean. The room was not good. There were several patches of "WET ROT" on the walls, The bathroom window was very, very dirty and the water was very slow to run into the bath - it kept spluttering (as if it had an air lock). The bedroom needs a NET CURTAIN at the window as people can look in whilst walking past. You had to dress in the bathroom. These things need sorting before the room is let again.

I HATE writing negative reviews so hopefully the management will take this as constructive criticism... midway through a long walk with a friend who ‘had wonderful memories of The Miners’, we arrived at 1.56 to be told “we stop serving at 2.00” .. we asked for anything, cold, whatever etc but apparently the chef had left & the remaining staff were unable to even make a cheese sandwich. Eyam used to have 5 pubs, they now have 1 .... the future doesn’t look bright if they can’t deliver a basic service... this pub is in a wonderful situation so surely staff could be trained to rustle something simple up for passing visitors (there were only 2 other people in the bar) ☹️

Stroll sideways, Guv. Cor, strike-a-light. Lor' luv-a-duck.I don't know why the Miners' took me like that, but it did. Went with a whole bunch of friends (yes, I have got some) for a celebratory lunch, and was seriously impressed. We went in to a warm, atmospheric, welcoming place just oozing with history. If your imagination runs riot, you can just imagine Plague victims staggering past in 1665. Our table was well laid-out, smart, clean, very professional. Drinks were ordered before the meal, and the House red was more than palatable The meals came in good time, piping hot and nicely presented. I had the Cumberland Sausage with Mustard mash, onion gravy and steamed vegetables, as did one of the others. A few had the Mushroom Stroganoff,. the more eddy-kated went for the smoked salmon, one had the steak pie, another the vegetarian sausage. Everybody was complimentary, everybody ate well, everybody (11 of us) went home more than happy. The staff were friendly, the service was beyond reproach and the coffee was great, with a choice of milk or cream. Two and a half hours well spent, which can only be achieved with good quality Scran/Nosebag/Nosh. Going back soon for the Venison, if it isn't too dear!

The menu here is very extensive. Great choice from sandwiches to full mains and starters. The young staff are very friendly and efficient. The chips are great! Gets very busy at lunch time as there are limited options in the village. Very popular with walkers. Children and dogs welcome.

We were staying in the village and didn't fancy cooking! The pub is centrally located, easy to walk to. The menu is reasonably wide, not a huge amount for vegetarians though.

Stayed in Eyam for a week and visited this pub four times eating on two occasions. The choice of food was extensive with a changing specials board and although not fine dining the quality was good and the price more than reasonable. The staff were pleasant, chatty and worked hard making our evenings enjoyable. Three real ales were well kept and there is a good selection of lagers and wine. The atmosphere was good and a place where we will return to. Thanks for helping to make our stay in Eyam so enjoyable.

Nothing flash here - indeed the whole pub needs updating! Not sure why an iron/trouser press is kept on display in the restaurant!! But apart from that - great food and friendly service.

We visited recently and stayed for two nights. Ian and his colleagues were lovely and made us feel right at home. The room was very comfortable and was just what we needed. Both evenings we ate at the pub and the food was delicious, my husband said it was the best steak he’s ever had! The breakfast was served between 8.30-9.30 and year are able to choose the time you have it. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend staying at the Miners Arms

Visited here for an evening meal and were pleasantly surprised at the menu choice on the chalkboard at the bar, definitely a cut above pub grub.

This pub is nothing fancy it is a small traditional village pub but we thought we would stop off for a bite to eat & refreshments during a busy day out in the peak district and we were glad we stopped off. The food was good, plenty of it and very tasty, I had the beef roast dinner which was really good and my husband had the steak & mushroom pie which he said was also really lovely. It is definitely worth stoping at if you are in the area and in need of food.

The miners is the only pub in the Eyam village, so if you want to eat after 6pm, unless you want to drive this is it. Fortunately the food is fine. Its good pub grub. There is a good choice for all including vegetarians like me. I had a great vege sausage and mash and a lovely cheesecake. The interior is every inch old school pub, and a little frayed at the edges but I dont think it loses anything for that, it just adds to the charm. Its best to be aware that most pubs in the area only open lunchtimes and evenings - They do not open all day.

Interesting menu and good quality food. Also reasonably priced across the board. Nice to sit outside - the interior is a little dated.

In a cute village, an old inn. Looks slightly neglected but unusually it has some "Indian" dishes.nsimple meals but reasonable choice. You wouldn't drive for miles to come here but it's OK, just a bit ordinary. Some picnic type tables out front, on the little lane and a few more in a sheltered area at the back. A bit of a gloomy feel to the inside but that probably goes with the age of the place

We were in Eyam for a walk on a sunny bank holiday weekend and after an 8 mile trek popped into this great little pub. We didn't have food but were served quickly to excellent drinks and there was no issue that one member of the group just wanted tap water. Outdoor seating lovely and facilities great. Thank you very much.

We were staying in Eyam but only managed to visit once. Food ws wholesome and tasty and the fire was very welcoming, I was with a 4 year old who was very hungry and when they started taking orders for the food, we asked if we could just order my sons whilst we choose. They were very accommodating and his food came swiftly. Also, although we didn't get a chance to talk, the locals were chatting away to the non locals, which made it a very nice friendly environment. Looking to go back to Eyam and will certainly be back to the Miners Arms. Check food serving times as they don't serve food all day.

We visited in February 2018 and found the Miners Arms to be the only place to eat out in the evening. Consequently they don’t have to try too hard as your alternative is cook yourself, drive somewhere else or order a takeaway.

We were stopping close to the Mjners Arms and popped in on the first night. We ordered food and when it came , it looked , smelt and tasted great. The portions were large ( specially the fish , from the fish and chips) The food was really good value. The pub is dog friendly and welcomed us all and even provided water for the dog. It was a cosy county pub with a real fire. Staff were friend and mixed with both locals and tourist. I would recommend this to all.

Had a lovely hot roast pork sandwich, it was obviously all homemade and the stuffing was one of the best I’ve tasted , been a few times on my visits to bakewell with my wife and couldn’t recommend it more highly

Disappointing food. Fish and chips looked OK but the batter was undercooked and three of us ate the fish and left the batter. They offered a replacement which we refused and accepted a discount and free coffee. A nice place, not busy on Monday, market day. I am not surprised if this quality of food is regularly served.

Loved this place ... it was supposed to be for a quick coffee but it has many marvellous ideas especially at this time of year regarding decorations, gifts for all the family, plants and homeware. Do visit if you have the chance ... ps great coffee and cakes too !

great little bakery in the centre of wirksworth, spotlessly clean, and run by a friendly elderly couple, who make everything homemade. cakes, pastries, and homemade pies, and also coffeees, teas, and cold drinks.very reasonable prices, and just up the road from Wirksworth railway station. i always pop in for treats when i catch the train up from Duffield for the afternoon, recomended..! :-)
