Very poor lunch sadly. “Croque Monsieur” was no more than a slice of bread with a bit of grainy mustard, ham and cheese on top served with five crisps, salad garnish and a teaspoon of coleslaw!! Friend’s sandwich not much better. Just not acceptable and having had fabulous food at The Red Lion down the road we were very disappointed.

When we arrived at the Druids inn we were told we had to book a table which meant a half an hour wait. As a family celebrating a special birthday we decided to wait as we thought it would be worth it…how wrong were we! Our food came out apart from one of the meals . I mentioned we were still waiting and the response was a very aggressive “I only have one pair of hands!” The missing meal was then taken to the wrong table and then eventually made it to our table. All common mistakes but the rudeness and quality of food was not what we expected for the wait we had and the cost if the meal. Fish and chips were incredibly greasy, hunters chicken cold and dry, chicken with the flat bread was 3 small chunks of chicken thigh and a pot of uncooked fries, loaded fries were essentially a bowl of sloppy sauce with a few fries! Just not good enough

We were sat near the front door and were cold! The beer was good but the food very disappointing. We had fish and chips which was very ordinary. I understand other areas were warmer but we were not offered to move. Bakewell pudding was no longer available and the sticky toffee pudding was very uninteresting. For Sunday lunch it proved a bad choice

This is, quite simply, a really lovely pub. A genuine local pub that also warmly welcomes holiday makers. The food is standard pub fare (and isn't that enough, really?) but the quality, from the ingredients to the cooking and presentation, it outstanding. What really makes the pub special is the staff team. They are lovely and meticulous but never overbearing. I went twice, whilst camping at Barn Farm. Solo female with dog. Felt valued as a customer and no awkwardness that sometimes arises as a lone woman in a pub. Really brilliant, definitely recommend.

Three of us ordered open sandwiches. One medium slice of bread topped with thin slices of Brie, one rasher of bacon and a spoonful of cranberry sauce. Quite tasty but not filling. A few green leaves served as the salad. No dressing, no tomatoes, no cucumber etc. a small amount of what purported to be coleslaw and a few crisps all served on a huge plate. The food looked lost. For this they charged nearly £10! One portion of chips (not large) was £5. Another friend paid nearly £19 for three sausages, some mashed potato, spoonful of peas and gravy. I complained. Yes, the server offered me a replacement meal or another drink. I didn’t accept as my friends would be waiting for me to finish as by then they were well over half way through their meal.. They had the nerve to charge full price for all the meals. Very little food for your money. We lunch out every week at different places in and around Matlock and I can honestly say this was the worst value for money of any places we’ve visited. I came home hungry.

15 of us went for lunch having pre-ordered our food several days earlier to avoid a delay in serving it. We were given a lovely private room but had to wait about 45 minutes for the food to arrive. The food was good but there wasn't much of it for the price. We noticed the price of a main course had increased by £2 on the price on the website.Having been told we could order our desserts on the day we were then told they were too busy to serve us and there would be a long wait.We didn't bother. The staff were friendly but we came away disappointed and still a bit hungry and embarrassed as I'd organised it for 14 other people. Nowhere near as good as when we went on New Year's Day 2024. Probably fine when it's a bit quieter.

We recently visited The Druid Inn on a holiday to Stanton Lees. We were fortunate enough to stumble across it on a monday evening, pie night and we're treated to an absolutely exceptional steak and stilton pie with chips and peas. Lots of craft ales on tap along with a selection of soft drinks and 0% beverages for the designated driver. Wonderful selection of desserts although half of the party were too full from the pie to partake. We will definitely return next time we come to the peaks.

What a find, the hospitality was excellent, we decided to follow the signs off the main road to have something to eat before we headed to Chatsworth to watch the firework display. We made the right choice, we were welcomed with a smile by the staff, the atmosphere within the pub was relaxed and the smell of the roaring fire added to the experience. We were looking to eat and the kitchen wasn’t open for another 1/2hr, we agreed to wait and placed our order, I had Scampi and my husband had Gammon. We waited not expecting our meal till after the kitchen had opened, however the staff knew we were on a tight timeline and we had our meal early. The meal was hot, fresh and tasty and we really enjoyed it.We are so glad we took the turning and will definitely be back again in the future. great little bakery in the centre of wirksworth, spotlessly clean, and run by a friendly elderly couple, who make everything homemade. cakes, pastries, and homemade pies, and also coffeees, teas, and cold drinks.very reasonable prices, and just up the road from Wirksworth railway station. i always pop in for treats when i catch the train up from Duffield for the afternoon, recomended..! :-)
