Absolutely, the best food I’ve ever eaten in my life. Linda knows what a man wants. Brilliantly cooked breakfast goods.

I ordered a cheese scone. The first one was rock hard and like a bisucit so had to be sent back. The second one had been warmed in the microwave as it was soft and spongy and no hint of any actual cheese. I was with friends otherwise I would have compalined again. The only way to eat it was by using all the onion jam on it. It is rare for me to complain but this was very poor. The sandwiches we had were ok but then it would be difficult to get a sandwhich and some crips wrong. And the prices are a bit steep too. Sad and disappointing.

Great looking restaurant and great food and service. Sadly let down by a lack of light and heat! The mood lighting was set far too low, it was so dark that we struggled to read the menu and felt like wearing our coats due to the cold draft. The people sat next to us also commented on the lighting and cold temperatures. For a Thursday evening we were surprised how empty the place was. The low level of customers should be a sign that you are doing something wrong guys. It’s not the food service, people want to go to a warm and inviting place to dine, not a dark wind tunnel.

We recently visited this charming pub and had a delightful experience. The ambiance is relaxed and chilled, perfect for unwinding. The food we ordered was almost perfect, with portion sizes just right—not too small and not so big that you can't finish them. I had the burger, which was delicious, although the patty could have used a bit less time on the grill to avoid such a strong charred taste. My partner had a steak, which was served medium-well, despite being requested as medium. It had only a very thin slither of pink in the middle. The wedge-style chips that came with the steak were not as enjoyable as the fries served with my burger. Despite these minor issues, the food was overall very tasty and didn’t deter us from wanting to visit again. It just seemed like the dishes were slightly overcooked. The service was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. However, there was a small downside—the service was a bit slow to clear dirty plates. We weren't in a rush, but even we felt it could have been a bit quicker. It seemed like an extra pair of hands would have been helpful, especially since it was a weeknight. That said, the staff were lovely and definitely not slacking off! Overall, we wouldn’t hesitate to visit again, either as a couple or with friends and family. We've already recommended this place to others. Just a couple of small tweaks would have made the experience perfect, but we will definitely be back in the future, which speaks volumes.

A group of us booked for lunch and ordered in advance. The staff were very pleasant and helpful , service was good as was the food with a choice of portion size for some dishes. My meal was missing peas but this was quickly rectified. The cakes looked delicate and tyere was one desert and ice-cream om offer yoo. The tea rooms are warm which was good as the weather outside was awful. There is outside seating for good weather days. There are a few charity shops on site and walks in the grounds, weather permitting and a model railway open on Wednesdays and Fridays. Definitely worth a visit.

I don’t know what has happened as I’ve always enjoyed my breakfast here but today was very disappointing. The tiny amount of bacon was overcooked and dry, the egg was hard and quite tasteless, the mushroom hardly warm and the beans very runny. I know it’s quite expensive here but I would expect a top class breakfast for that price.

It used to be a great stop off for lunch post a Bradgate morning walk . It was always packed with locals as well as visitors wanting lunch . We noticed it when we walked in ……hardly anything in the display cabinet bar a dozen small quiches and not much of a cake selection . No specials either ! No hot food could be ordered before 12 so we had tea …..no China cups and lots anymore either . When it reached 12 one of us had the house burger …..came in a dried out toasted bun with a lettuce leaf, small piece of tomato and a bit of onion . Salsa on the side . The bun was dry and tasted old , it could have done with mayo or something to spruce it up and soften the blow . It wasn’t good at all . The other had quiche and salad which was ok - a good portion of chips and salad . The service could be better , the tea came out with what was clearly a damaged cup but no attempt to replace it . We asked for some tap water …….10 minutes and nothing , clearly it had been forgotten , even though they were not busy. Asked again and it did arrive . No one at any point asked how our food was , they were quick to clear our table of food plates so we also made a quick exit . As it wasn’t busy it should have made us wary and overall I’m afraid if this is the new standard it isn’t longed for this world . Two generations of my family have lived in the village and this was always a welcome trip . Not now - sorry but give it a miss.

Visited the Wheatsheaf for our annual lunch - it’s a bit of a drive from where we live, but well worth it. The staff are, as always, welcoming and professional, and make time to help you decide which of their wonderful food offerings to choose. We both had the Wheatsheaf Smokie for lunch - fantastic! Would visit more regularly if we lived closer but, for now, we’re happy with this annual treat x
