A group of us booked for lunch and ordered in advance. The staff were very pleasant and helpful , service was good as was the food with a choice of portion size for some dishes. My meal was missing peas but this was quickly rectified. The cakes looked delicate and tyere was one desert and ice-cream om offer yoo. The tea rooms are warm which was good as the weather outside was awful. There is outside seating for good weather days. There are a few charity shops on site and walks in the grounds, weather permitting and a model railway open on Wednesdays and Fridays. Definitely worth a visit.

Had been on the to do list for a while and today we did. Sadly the weather was very changeable but non the less, had a nice time. Opened up with a classic cream tea. Lovely warm light fruit scone, butter, clotted cream, jam and a coffee. Rain stopped so explored the rest. 3x charity shops broken down into distinct themes rather than all mixed together as is so often the case. A hat, tie, 2 tops, a book and wine bottle opener later we ventured to the outside dining area which gives great views of the surrounding Leicestershire countryside. Finally visited the model railway. Not normally my sort of thing but wow, the level of detail is mind blowing. Will certainly be back.

Terrible experience. We'd been seated outside by the person at reception but no staff came to take our order or give us a menu. We went and fetched a menu. No staff were coming over near our section of the garden. We waited 30 minutes and then went to the staff area and asked them if we could place an order. They said someone would come now and that they were short staffed. We waited another 15 minutes before leaving having had nothing. Other tables were being served before us despite having come in after us and other people were chasing the staff for service. Last time we went the service was slow but the food was nice. Such a disappointment. If you're short staffed, please stop seating customers and at least make them aware of the wait times.

Isn't it lovely when you find little gems! I've lived in whitwick for almost 50 years and thought I'd seen and visited all the places. I was wrong. My partner got talking to a lady that helps out there and said its a lovely place. We decided to pop in. We've been twice now in as many weeks. Cheese scone and a pot of tea (the right way, it a pot with an extra pot off water) a cream tea but with delicious milkshake 😋 and luch the following Friday! Very good quality, homemade and unprocessed meat. Service is lovely and it's nice to be in such a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Views are picture perfect, you could be anywhere in England (makes me love my home village even more) the charity shops are appealing and I'll be taking my donations soon...think my partner and I will be here regularly for out lunch on our Fridays.

Love this place, there’s a few charity shops on site run by volunteers..cafe is great love the cake, & staff have always been jolly & like a joke…..what I also like is that young people with disabilities help out serving, They are given a chance, to work, where they may not otherwise get that…..been 3 times & every time been great….dont be hard on the staff, sometimes we all have bad days, but the one star ratings are ridiculous….give them a try

Just popped in for coffee and cake, every time I come here I forget how ignorant the grumpy middle aged lady servers are and enjoy the great cakes and scones with a superb view (if weather allows sit on the terrace). If you can get over the grumpy staff and don't mind a wait you'll have a lovely time. Many many other views all saying great cake, wonderful location, miserable grumpy staff - please can the management do something about it, maybe a training course on how to treat customers?

The lady with short hair and glasses on the front desk is BEYOND rude. End of. Service poor and overpriced. Came as part of a charity day and didn't think it would be so stressful to get a cuppa! I witnessed another member of staff being rude to another table. Lovely setting, horrible staff.

Such theatre. We arrived at 2 20pm today for some light lunch, followed by cake and coffee before going for a walk. We were not sure if it was table service and went to the counter and stood waiting to be served by one of the 2 staff behind the counter. They did not look at us or offer any help and just completely ignored us. We were incredulous. So I interupted their conversation and asked them if we needed to find a table then order? one of the ladies asked if we had booked in, which if course we hadn't! She then waved her arm telling us to go round to reception to book in and we would be shown to a table, she added, "if there's no one there just ring the bell and someone will come" There was no one at reception, so we rang the bell, we waited again, of course, noone came so we rang the bell again and waited some more. We looked through the leaflets, and things on offer then and eventually went back into the cafe and spoke to another member of staff sitting at a table, who had just had her meal. She mentioned something about being gormless and went to fetch the receptionist, while sending us back to reception, the receptionis came, offered no apology but mumbled something and showed us to a table. The time was now 2.50pm and we were advised that there was no lunch being served, just cakes and a drink. We decided that would be ok. Looking round the cafe there were five other tables with people who had been served or who were waiting. We waited..by 3.10 no one had been to take our order. The receptionist then came into the room and spoke to the ladies on the next table who said that they had ordered a pot of tea 20 mins ago! It was clear that we were not going to be served soon.. And as the cafe closed at 4pm we decided that we would just leave. We went back to the food counter to inform the now 3 staff members who just stood there chatting, one with her arms folded, that realistically there was no time to have anything without feeling rushed, because of closing time! We were offered no apology. The staff need some serious inter personal training as well as skills in dining etiquette. The whole experience was quite awful which was also, thankfully highly amusing. We left feeling hungry, thirsty and disgruntled! I'm pretty sure that if it were Victoria Wood being served, she would have had plenty of material for her next comedy sketch. The cakes did look delcious, but sadly we will never really know.!

The staff were rude, the tea rooms overall seem understaffed and run as if they want it to fail, many other great tea rooms in the surrounding areas, business seems to be going so far down hill after many great years.

We visited The Grange today for lunch with was very tasty. We sat outside on their decked area which gave us fantastic views over the leicestershire countryside. The staff were friendly and everything was very clean and in good repair. We had a rummage around three of their on site charity shops and finished off with a walk across the fields. The Grange is a hidden gem as normally it has more shops and a miniature train which I was assured will be soon up and running again.

We called quite late in the afternoon not long before their closing time at 4pm. Luckily there were still scones to eat, all the cake had gone. Coffee came from a machine which seemed to be a fairly new addition and it was very good. Prices are very reasonable and our homemade scones were lovely. Topped with the lovely view from the terrace it was a lovely experience here. We need to arrive earlier to enjoy more variety.

I adore Ulverscroft. It offers a good quality, simple menu but actually offers much much more than that. It is a wonderful social place that soon feels like home, it offers wonderful volunteering and support opportunities for people with additional needs (and anyone really!), it hosts all kinds of inclusive activities and events... plus the view is spectacular. Oh,and the cakes are amazing.

We had a lovely time this afternoon, all ten of us. The food was very good, the service good - the situation just lovely. A suggestion - although I know finding volunteers at this time of the year is probably difficult, but you really need someone on the till all the time, to free up staff to serve new meals, cake and drinks, the queue seemed endless at times. Well done though, a busy day for you, we will visit you again.

Been here many times. Especially lovely in the summer when you can eat outside. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. Had a nice lunch today. Nice varied menu from sandwiches to fish n chips. It does get busy but they are very good and food doesn’t take long to arrive. There’s a charity shop,a little garden shop and today the model railway was open and running. Our 3 year old grandson enjoyed that especially. Keep up the good work, you do a fabulous job.

We went as a group of twelve for a day out at the nearby Stoneywell National Trust house (well worth seeing). Our trip organiser had also booked a table for us at the wonderful Grange Tea Rooms. The food was delicious and so fresh (we had a variety of salads, jacket potatoes, ham and eggs, toasted sandwiches etc and a wonderful mixed berry crumble and custard for afters). We were all totally impressed with the speed of service and the beautiful views. On a nice day there is a wooden deck terrace to sit out on but there is also a large conservatory with the excellent views for when the weather is a bit inclement. The food is simple but very well cooked or prepared using the best and freshest ingredients (my ham salad was superb). The servings are very generous and the prices are very reasonable. I would thoroughly recommend the Grange Tea Rooms for a midday meal or daytime snack.

Disabled Mum and I went as part of a group for Tea and a Scone, however due to a busy day neither Mum or I had eaten lunch and glanced at the menu. We decided to upgrade to the full Afternoon Tea and, as I had taken the dog and it was a nice day, we sat outside. The view was breathtaking, the glorious greens of the English countryside and then the food arrived. It is all home made and while it is not super fancy, it was tastefully served and there was plenty of it, plus endless cups of tea. The ham sandwiches were delicious, thick cut and lots of it, the cheese was tasty and the prawns were plentiful and not swimming in mayonnaise. The selection of cakes was diverse and the scones warm and fresh. The staff were really friendly and they are all volunteers as this is a fund raising branch of the charity.

Possibly the best latte I have had in Leicestershire (up to this date of course), I don't know how they do it...especially as I'm borderline addicted to the things If you get a chance try the vanilla latte and let it cool slightly. Worth every penny. The foods decent as well and the premises is very quirky but unique.

Have eaten here a few times over the years. Always very friendly service. Food has always been good value with good portion size too. Could be improved with menus on tables instead of having to look at the boards behind the counter to choose what to eat.
