Had a works party here a couple of weeks ago. First time here, and will be coming back again with my wife. Fantastic place, the food was beaut! And the service was great, and a good selection of drinks from the bar.

Nothing is too much trouble from the moment I visited the site a few months ago through to menu ideas and selection through to the night itself. Liz and her team really go above and beyond. We booked for our 25th business anniversary celebrations and had 100 guests. Liz organised the DJ and number lights for us and with her incredible chef Tim and his team put on the most delicious hot buffet of samosas and onion bhajis, Jamaican jerk chicken, jerk butternut squash, morrocan chicken stew, morrocan chickpea stew, rice, 2 incredible salads and brownies. Every single guest LOVED the food. Raved about it. Such great service all night from setting up the layout indoors and outdoors, music, food and drinks it really was such great attention to detail in everything. We will definitely use the venue again for future events and highly recommend it for whatever you may need from business events to weddings to celebrations Thank you Liz to you and your incredible team ❤️ Dee and the 99 other guests of Imperial

Fantastic old building. Speaking to a guy on sunday explained about the restoration work carried out. Also explained about all the tree's numbered etc.well worth a visit.

A unique rural venue. At present only open Thursday evenings and for Sunday lunch. My wife and I enjoyed a great selection of tasty tapas, washed down with glasses of Sangria. A friendly welcome and efficient service. There is also plenty of outside seating if you just fancy a drink. Certainly worth checking out the web site for opening hours and special events e.g. Bank Holiday music. Not going to post a separate review, but on August 11th four of us all enjoyed our Sunday lunch choices.

Absolutely Love This Place! Some of these reviews must be made up or they've gone to another venue to us! It's a stunning location, the food is always fabulous and the staff are lovely! As for complaining about insects IN AN OUTDOOR AREA!!??? 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤣🤣🤣 We feel very lucky to have a venue so nice fairly close to us.. See you again soon!

Was at a wedding reception: arrived at start time to find baby wipe and ice lolly litter on the floor from previous day cobwebs dead flies under seating area where a worker just threw cushions on chairs as we arrived. Owner forgot to order Chardonnay so just one bottle for a wedding !! Understaffed and food was horrendous. Would not think of booking here for a meal or a party not quite sure what the bride and groom paid for as totally ripped off.

Tapas evening on a Thursday was excellent. Great setting and friendly service. Will be heading back to try the Sunday Lunch menu very soon.

We came for Sunday lunch for the first time and was really pleased with both the food and service. The owner is super friendly and her staff can’t do enough for you. We visit the grounds regularly for walks with our chihuahua and often have a coffee inside as it’s dog friendly. One of our new favourite places to visit. Thankyou Pumping Station 🙏

Lovely Wedding Venue! Liz and her team are so helpful and put a lot of effort in to make the day run as smoothly as possible. I’m so glad we chose to have the Wedding here, beautiful building and scenery. Everyone mentioned how lovely the pizzas were too.

Went there to see Freddie Mercury tribute act, we all had a fabulous time, Joey Linden was a real livewire and incredibly entertaining. The menu was mainly burgers, we opted for the Wagyu burgers which were delicious as was the beer. We arrived quite early to a very warm welcome from the host, the staff were frienly and obliging. We are looking forward to going again.

We were very lucky to hear seats upstairs where the stage was set up. Those downstairs couldn't see anything g unless they went up to the dance floor. Not an ideal venue for this abba mania show but very enjoyable despite food problems. Steak in steak sandwich was sliced much too thick and bread collapsed. Meat tough and chewy..husband nearly choked on the gristley steak.

The wedding ran smoothly, she was never far away when we needed her to ask any questions or needed help throughout the day. We paid a little more to upgrade the canapés to pulled pork cobs and the food was great ! We had a Saturday wedding so figured we would book Sunday lunch as we needed to collect our things anyway. We had 18 people for dinner and considering the wedding didn’t finish till 12 at night when we arrived the next day they had gone above and beyond to decorate a large table with our decor. Everything else was wrapped up for us neatly in a side room and again great food and service. Overall I would have no hesitation recommending Liz to any friends or family !

Our first visit here for High End Chauffeurs. We chauffeured for the bride in our Rolls Royce Ghost, and Mercedes V class for the brides, what a lovely venue.

Lovely venue for Sunday lunch. A warm welcome. Lovely food with great service. Highly recommended & great value. Must be lovely in the spring & summer months.

We had our works Christmas party here booked out to the company was brilliant

Visited for a Christmas Party. After being dropped off near the car park which was very badly lit and signposted the trek to the entrance was treacherous. If we'd have known it was so uneven, muddy and full of puddles we'd have worn wellington boots which would have been more appropriate than heeled open toe sandals. We used our phone torches to guide the way but it was still tough going and not the best way to start the evening. As a venue for weddings and parties such as this guests are going to be dressed up accordingly so a flat tarmac car park and pathway would be much more welcoming. Once inside it was a relief but looking down meant a trip to the loo to clean up toes and footwear, just not the best start to an evening. Anyway, from then on in everything was lovely. The food was great and the variety of drinks on offer was incredible. Staff were friendly and the venue itself very nice. Once the car park is sorted I wouldn't hesitate to return and recommend but until then I would avoid, sorry.

Would have given a 5* But there was no lighting on path on a very wet /muddy night. It was a bit hazardous. There was notice of this on the day of event so couldn't be helped .

Nice venue for weddings, very unique.

We had our wedding reception at the pumping station nearly 2 weeks ago, and I can not fault the venue or the staff at all. From start to finish Liz was just incredible, probably one of the genuinely nicest people we have met, so kind and understanding and supported us both the whole way (and was always patient with my numerous questions 😅). When the day came, even when timings were a little off and everything was held back from the service, Liz handled everything like a pro, took charge of everything and I was able to relax and not worry about a thing. All of the staff on the night were great, so helpful and friendly. We had so many comments about how lovely the venue was and genuinely couldn’t fault Liz and her team at all! The venue also gave us the opportunity to have some beautiful photos inside and outside among the trees, as it has such a beautiful setting! Thank you Liz, we are so grateful for everything ❤️

So disappointing. Beautiful building but the food is average at best but horribly overpriced for what you get. Dining area is tired and basic with mould on the walls. Toilets are dirty with no evidence of cleaning. This lovely old building deserves better. Will not return despite living 5 minutes away.

Came here for a birthday celebration with the wife. Beautiful food and great staff. Sausage meat stuffing was to die for, Thankyou for making us feel so welcome. We will be back very soon.

We went for Sunday lunch. Had the carvery followed by dessert. Nice food, very tasty. Good portion size, service was efficient and friendly. Interesting building. Did look a little tatty in some areas, cobwebs on the light fittings etc but overall a nice meal out.

We had a wedding at the Pumping station and we can’t recommend it enough. From start to finish we were made to feel special. All the staff were really friendly and easy going. Liz was awesome and super helpful and made everything super smooth. All our guests said how perfect it was. If you’re thinking about it don’t hesitate in booking. It’s perfect

Sunday lunch - DONT Been here mid July for Sunday Lunch, it was blooming awful. Staff were clueless but nice. Took nearly 75 mins to get food, then nearly impossible to get serving spoons and condiments. Can’t see what the attraction of this place is. It’s like eating in an empty warehouse.

Went with my family and a freind to see a Freddie Mercury tribute. Food was superb. staff polite and friendly.Had an amazing evening. Looking forward to the Abba night.

Lovley place , great staff and great atmosphere

We held our wedding at the pumping station two weeks ago. It was absolutely amazing. The venue is perfect and Liz is fantastic. There is nothing she won't do to help and she made our day completely stress-free. Thank you so much all our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was. We would definitely recommend.

Very nice place. Lots of seating, grass areas for kids to play, good place for weddings and good DJ music too. Nice bar, lots of drink options.

went for a friend's 50th was a beautiful place, (didn't even know it was there- just watch for the left turn! else you've gone past it) food, was lovely, staff where lovely really enjoyed ourselves

It was so disappointing after hearing such good things about their Sunday lunches.

Murder Mystery evening April 2023. I bought tickets to this event for myself and my husband. The building has been beautifully renovated so the area we were sat in was lovely. The bar was very reasonable with the prices. The characters were splendid and remained in character throughout. Even though we didn’t know the other 4 people on the table we all joined in together to interact with the actor in the table. I really liked that we all submitted our own theories as to the guilty party and not as a table. This was great because I disagreed with my husband and then won the prize for the evening as I guessed correctly. Will definitely go to another one! Loved it

My Family and I attended the Pumping Station for our Christmas Lunch and the whole experience was wonderful. We were made welcome from the moment we walked through the door, The food was excellent and served with a smile. I will definitely go back as will the rest of our group of ten. Parking is easy ( the car park is huge ) and of course free.

Christmas 'do' - overall was a lovely eve. Food was excellent (a bit more veg would have been appreciated), band was great although their sets were a bit short.

Absolutely amazing food. Everyone on the table agreed. Good service too. Only issue is the decor could do with a refurbish upstairs.

Second time at a band night and same dissatisfaction. Food was quite poor to be fair and not even tasty. The whole night is a bit too disappointing with ordering food to the live band. I felt so sorry for the staff delivering the food all over the place, no organisation at all. They kept on going to tables with food and every table was wrong order. The band came on just after 9pm for about 40 minutes and went off for a 50 minute break!! This happened when we to the Amy Winehouse night. This will be the last time we go there. What a shame as the place is lovely.

My daughter and Son in law had their wedding here last month. We had the most beautiful day, the venue was perfect, a lovely personal ceremony room and the reception room inside is on two levels, then outside it has beautiful grounds with lots of outdoor seating, which is lit up in the evening with lots of fairy lights. If you want different and quirky this is the place. The day ran smoothly from start to finish thanks to Liz and her amazing team. Nothing was too much trouble, if we had a slight glitch on our part they sorted it immediately so there was no stress. They were friendly, professional and happy to help, even things not in their remit like dog sitting during the ceremony they were happy to oblige. The bar was well stocked and service fabulous. The bride and groom wanted a very informal, relaxing wedding and it was just what they wanted. You can have a great venue but for the day to be special and run as you want it, you need expertise, great service and Liz and team had this in abundance, we can thank them enough and would highly recommend this venue for weddings, parties, Sunday lunch or drinks, it’s a truly hidden gem. We went for Sunday lunch today. Initially abit upset as the beef had ran out and we were not informed. But they massively made up for it with a free drink as they hadn’t let us know. The service was brilliant and the food was perfect.

I decided to celebrate my recent retirement from work by taking my immediate family out for Sunday lunch. We had dined together previously (6 adults and 4 children aged 5 to 12) at various other local restaurants but thought we’d try somewhere different this time. I had to change the booking date once and they were very accommodating. We arrived at 12.30 and were shown upstairs to a long narrow table seating 5 each side - consequently 5 sat facing a plain blank plastered wall . There were plenty of waiting staff milling around and we were the only diners at that time. The building is amazing and has a very high vaulted ceiling. Drinks were ordered and we decided on theSunday lunch 3 courses - 3 of the children eating from the childrens Sunday lunch menu too. The starters were disappointing - I had the sourdough toast, chicken liver pâté and tomato chutney. It came served in a very small brown earthenware bowl - no butter offered for the toast and no attention to detail like a sprig of rocket on the side. My husband remarked that the bowl was more like a pot ashtray. My husband had the parsnip and apple soup which he said was Luke warm and very sweet. The mushroom dish did look really nice - so maybe just a bad choice by me and the other half! The children had cheesy garlic bread which consisted of 2 slices of thick bread slightly garlic enhanced with a square of the plastic looking cheese melted on tge top. Not good. My son had the soup but had to wait until everyone else had nearly finished before he received his. We had already ordered mains when we ordered starters so didn’t have to wait too long. To be fair the mains were ok. I had the roast beef which was lovely. Some had roast chicken - again - was ok - but tge pressed pork belly was disappointing. No flavour and nothing to write home about. Yorkshires practically covered the plate. One half carrot, small piece of parsnip - several roast potatoes but not crispy and no seasoning- pork stuffing set too hard. Accompanying sharing bowls of veg were peas and leeks or broccoli and cauliflower with cheese sauce which I personally loved and could have cleared the bowl! We weren’t asked if we wanted any sauces - I would have loved mustard or horseradish- my daughter law asked for mint sauce but tge waitress just rolled her eyes. Not good service. We think staff were bracing themselves for the onslaught of guests that were to arrive. A party of around 25 (could have been more but as I was facing the wall I couldn’t see!). Were seated directly behind us in an even longer table parallel to ours. The noise they made was deafening and we could no longer talk between us at our table. After some time my daughter in law went down to the bar to ask if they could move us - the manager wasn’t very helpful and offered us a complimentary drink as no other tables were available. Deserts came (except my sons as they said it wasn’t ordered) - sticky toffee pudding was ok. My grandson’s chocolate browny wasn’t edible as it was far too dryed out. Pointless trying to communicate with waiters as it was far too noisy and they were all too busy. The manager was apologetic when she came to our table and said she hoped the complimentary drinks would offer some consolation. We decided to finish our drinks outside (bitterly cold out). And I asked for the bill at the bar. £294 was the total - we asked if the complementary drinks had been taken off and were told they had. I settled the bill and we left. On arriving home - I checked the bill and we had been charged £26 for the complimentary drinks. My daughter in law phoned them about an hour later and was told manager would call back. When she didn’t - we phoned again to be told that the drinks had been taken off. They clearly hadn’t and she was asked to check again as she was obviously looking at the wrong till tally. No apology given - just a reluctant well I’ll need to do a bank transfer. Needless to say - we won’t be going back there.

Wanting somewhere to have a bite to eat near Bradgate Park, Leicester I found the Pumping Station serving delicious brunches this morning. Trialing Saturday morning brunches the lady running this great venue in the heart of Leicestershire said she wanted to put some different dishes together. I was meeting friends and we had the Sausage baps, pancakes with chocolate and cream, a burger and finally scrambled eggs, maple bacon, smashed avocado on a sourdough. 4 empty plates and us all saying what a great place to find. If you are looking for somewhere in the next few weeks after your Saturday morning walk in Bradgate, I would recommend you calling by

Absolutely fantastic wedding reception - gorgeous venue, delicious food and a fantastic selection of gins to enjoy! Liz was amazing throughout, answering all our questions, and service was spot-on on the day. I cannot recommend here enough!

Tried Sunday lunch here just for a change really but we're pleasantly surprised by the originality of the surroundings the wonderful food and the efficient friendly service....and the wonderful food ho I've already mentioned that....but it was....very nice nothing overblown the Michelin star may elude them but best Sunday lunch I've had in many a year....ho and the food was good to....

Arranged family Sunday lunch for son’s 18th birthday. We hadn’t been before so we were going on reviews and pictures only We were So pleased we did, the staff were attentive , sourcing an alternative starter due to allergies, taking photos , helping with cake etc, Lovey meal , nicely presented, welcoming atmosphere. Absolutely disgusting service. No interaction from the staff at all after been seated. After a while we went to the bar to order drinks ourselves. I then had to ask 30 mins after if we could order food as sat waiting. During this time of waiting we went to the bar to order a second round of drinks. When the food eventually came it was almost too cold to eat. No service/interaction again from anyone. We eventually decided that after waiting an hour for the table to be cleared, dessert was never going to be offered. We made the decision to leave and had to ask for the bill at the bar. At this point i had to ask for extras to be removed as we never received them. (Not a staff member upstairs to ask for said items) Then upon leaving my daughter over hears staff saying we will concentrate on the larger party table and the smaller ones will have to wait. Absolutely shocking service.
