Lovely staff food is very tasty and a good cuppa tea. What more could you want.

Breakfast was nice but the cafe was very warm inside, a bit of ventilation would be nice. Quite disappointing that you cannot pay by card, getting told to run to the cashpoint in the rain isn't the greatest.

If you're walking through Watermead and start feeling in need of a coffee and some cake - this is the place for you! My girls returned for a second serving of their lemon drizzle!

Sadly won't be returning again. Staff were on edge and snappy. Aggressive. Food took ages to come out, when it did it wasn't hot. It was over heated inside and the tables weren't clean on arrival.

Me and my wife had visited the cafe about a month earlier and the two breakfasts we had were great. Went in today and the food was barely warm. Should have complained but didn’t want to be seen as moaning customers. The cafe does need to ensure that food served is hot. I suspect that the food was plated and left to stand before serving. We will visit again but will send the food back if it isn’t hot.

Friendly little cafe, the big breakfast bap is definitely a winner. The cake looks good, will have to try that next time. Slightly unusually (particularly these days) the place is cash only, so be aware before visiting.

First time visit not again. Breakfast was cold and of poor quality had to send back and the Food was under cooked. Can remember this as a charity shop and still has that feel about the place, not inviting.

Purchased a take away coffee that scolded me! Mouth and tongue are on fire, Not barrister trained so I’d recommend people opt for a cup of tea or black coffee.

My wife and me took my mother to the Café on the Corner while we were visiting from Scotland. My Mum frequently visits the café with my sister and she just loves it. The staff are so kind a caring and always have a bowl of her favourite soup. She is quite frail but they are so kind and understanding. The food is good home cooked food without the greasy spoon. Tasty and hot. Thank you for a great day and making my Mum smile.

Nice decor and menu. Staff were welcoming too. Great range of food for the kids too. Cakes looked great but we didn't get any. Very clean. Portion sizes were tiny though for the price - thankfully we'd had a big breakfast so this was OK for us. No baby change in the toilet.

A lovely tea room and cafe. I had the chicken club sandwich and it was very tasty. A good balance with salad and coleslaw on the side.

Had a couple of bacon cheeseburgers and my new favourite drink, large vanilla milkshake with a double espresso in it. Delicious. Restaurant kitted out for Halloween, very busy Sunday lunchtime but managed to find a table.

1st visit with daughter and friend before early ko at Leic city. Had 2 x big breakfast and a breakfast cob. Hot drinks lattes and a chai latte. It was all really nice and good VFM all came to £28. This is no greasy spoon lovely cafe, Will certainly return.

Not the best Full English I had but quite good. Only thing I can complain about is hash brown, soggy, cold, full of oil. Otherwise fine.

My friend and I visit weekly. Always a friendly welcome, quick service. We have tried many of the things on the menu, from cake to eggs benedict. Everything is always lovely quality They also do takeaway, which appears to be popular. The afternoon tea looks lovely Well worth a visit Seating inside and a few tables outside

Food was good but not a fan of the sausages. Couple of the cups were a little dirty. Service was slow, by the time the other couple's breakfasts had come out ready for them to eat my boyfriend and I had already finished all of ours.

What a fabulous cafe. Perfect for all ages and even cater for little ones. Great friendly staff and delicious food and great service. I will be returning. Nothing is too much trouble. Fantastic you girls should be very proud.

I called in here for a mocha coffee and a slice of caramel cake, both were delicious. I just sat on my own and enjoyed the atmosphere, seeing people come in for their elevenses, and watching people walk by on their way to the shops. Very pleasant pl,ace to be.

i went for the first time last week and really enjoyed it,i cant knit but enjoyed talking to the other people. the staff were very friendly,the cakes were AMAZING!!. the place was very clean and looked lovely inside.

I have been here a few times and usually it’s a great place to go. However after waiting a long time for my food,they had got the order wrong. My partner had the veggie breakfast and his hash browns were swimming in grease and he had tomatoes missing. I don’t mind paying more for food but not when the service is terrible and the quality is not good enough. I asked for a refund and I won’t be returning.

Unfortunately there were no vegan options so I couldn’t eat here. I had a fruit tea. I was hoping there may at least be an alternative milk. Shame because it’s a nice cafe

Cosy cafe with great cake - especially like the sticky toffee and the sponge. Have also had breakfast here too which was nice. Accommodating for prams and babies (have highchairs) but no baby change. Always a treat to stop in here. Oh and it is cash only just in case you get caught out!

Visited here on the chance - lovely place; decorated Shabby Chic, with a couple of sofas to relax on. I had the best piece of carrot cake I have ever had! It was moist, fruity, lots of creamy filling in the middle and ontop; absolutely delicious. My partner had one of their cheese scones and he said that was the best he had ever tasted. They have a menu consisting of panini's, hot food, sandwiches and the most delicious looking variety of made on the premises cakes. Earl Grey tea for me served with a cup and saucer and a fresh lemon slice. Staff were lovely as was the ambience of the place. Lovely, lovely place just wish it was near to where I live, perhaps not as I would put on tons of weight!

Have been a few times for breakfast, food is good and well priced, however the downside is the water streaming off the windows, it really needs proper heating, it’s not pleasant having to sit in a coat having your breakfast, other than that it’s all good

The owner of this cafe works tirelessly to keep changing up her menu of drinks and food, and the selection of cakes is always amazing. The cafe itself is immaculately clean but is also full of soul and life, and the decor is very cute/shabby chic. Staff are absolutely fantastic. The only negative is the price of some of the lunch food, but as it's a small business it's to be expected - it beats Costa any day of the week!

Visited with family & children. Food is well priced, fresh & homemade. The cakes are divine!!! Staff are very polite & accommodating for your needs. Everywhere is very clean. Highly recommend.

One of the worst Café I've ever been to. Ordered Eggs Montreal and what I got was a joke. Bread not even toasted, under cooked eggs and hollandaise that was cold and the breakfast was so bad I had to leave it and just make do with the coffee. I'd advise to avoid this cafe as they have no pride in what they do. You have been warned. Avoid!!!

Love this place, I visit whenever I'm passing through Birstall.

Visited here recently was slightly concerned as currently on weightwatchers but it was fine. Lots of healthy options to choose from. With great prices Highly recommend this cafe to anyone.

Utterly perfunctory visit. Service on point, all produce lovely. F.E.B. requires tinned tomatoes to get some juices going; otherwise guilty of being a tad dry. Mandem just sayin'...

Vine aquí por Navidad con un amigo y sus hijos. Fue muy concurrido cuando llegamos así que costó conseguir una mesa lo suficientemente grande, pero después de un par de minutos no quede disponible. Los niños tenían que les encantó y batidos tuve un delicioso chocolate caliente. Nos tomamos una copa dividido que el personal se ocupó con directamente con cualquier duda. He estado un par de veces antes, y el servicio siempre ha sido excelente y esta vez no fue diferente. Sin duda volveré.

Attempted to eat here several months ago whilst waiting for the key cutting place to finish a pair of shoes. After waiting upwards of fifteen minutes to even be greeted (the place had maybe three other people inside) I was eventually brought scorched coffee (far too hot and burned tasting) and a slice of cake that appeared to have been left out the whole week. How hard can it be? maybe consider reducing the menu and focusing on quality rather than the budget approach. Birstall is an affluent town, it doesnt have to be budget.

Went for a walk and finished up stopping for Tea, Coffee, Hot Chocolate and could not resist the fab cakes, order taken quickly and sat down, order was delivered to our table, very friendly staff.

This café has friendly staff and ambience. Enjoyed the English breakfast. Not too large and not greasy. Always a special treat for me to go and relax in a good environment.

I have been a few times now, alone with my daughter, and also with my granddaughter. The food is excellent and the cakes to die for, with loads of variety. I like the idea of different size tables, sofas,etc which make it very cosy

After seeing beautiful pictures of cake on their Facebook page and having previously had a generally nice experience a couple of months prior, my mother and I were very disappointed with our visit. As we entered the busy cafe, we were asked to sit and wait to be served, but after 20 minutes of waiting we decided to order at the counter where we informed we were about half an hour too late for the savoury lunch menu- even though we had not been informed of this when entering and saw no immediate signs that this was the case. Disappointed, we decided to share a slice of cake instead. Choosing a lovely looking lemon meringue slice, we were left even more disappointed. It was very heavy and dry; almost inedible. We ate the lemon curd filling and the icing and left it at that. We would have given this feedback to the staff if they had asked how it was or weren't too busy telling other disappointed customers at the counter that they weren't selling lunches after they too had sat with the menu for a while just as we had. The staff were uninterested in customer satisfaction or communicating with the customers unless forced to at the counter. As keen cake eaters and fans of supporting local businesses we hope that things change and improve here, however we will unlikely venture here again and will pass on our views to others if asked.

We had a lovely time at a hen brunch at the Cafe on the Corner. We had sandwiches, bacon and sausage rolls, cakes galore, tea and coffee. June and her staff looked after us wonderfully but left us to feel like we had the cafe to ourselves (which we did!) when all the goodies were served. Thank you so much. Super duper!

June and the team at the Cafe on the Corner were fabulous in all the organisation prior to our private hen brunch and on the day so friendly and the service was 110%. Our brunch tea party was just perfect - huge thankyou for all the scummy food,we will be visiting again very soon!!!

Visited this café the previous day, only to find that they were shut, so made a note of the opening times and revisited today, 15th June. Walked in and it has a lovely atmosphere, served by a lovely young lady who took my order, I then went to sit down, She then brought me my coffee which was very nice, waited a while for the cheese scone and when it arrived it was worth the wait, it had been warmed in the oven, served with onion chutney, which at first I thought it would not complement the cheese scone but it did.I highly recommend a visit.

I love this place, June and her staff are so helpful and friendly. The cakes are gorgeous and you are always made to feel welcome.It is a great place to relax with a cuppa and have a chat with friends.We hosted my little girls first birthday party here she had afternoon tea with her little friends and it was such a wonderful experience.

We were looking around the shops and decided we'd have a coffee and a bite to eat. We saw this cafe and decided to give it a try. It was our lucky day! Beautiful homemade cakes and scones and lovely coffee. We'll definitely be going back

i met a friend for coffee here. A nice warm room with very comfy seating.However i think the prices are very high for a village cafe. i had a coffee first served with a little jug of cold milk ! i wasn't offered a choice of cream or milk. I have always had milk heated in a jug first. Then i had a hot choclate at £2-75 a joke watery not very choclatey tasted like cadburys hot choclate drink, at ths price should be made with milk at least, and it wasnt that hot either.There was a good selection of cakes on the counter bot who pays £3-95 for a slice of choclate cake? you would get at least 10 slices from that cake,a another review says all cakes made with quality ingredients even if made with butter real choclate this is a massive mark up Not at all impressed and will not return.

This is the only cafe in my village that I want to go to. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, the decor is so gorgeous v shabby chic and the food and drinks are divine.

We visited the cafe on the corner today, what can we say just wonderful, best cafe ever! Staff are very friendly it's a beautiful cafe and the cakes are simply stunning! Can not wait to try more, the milkshakes look great to, so perhaps on our next visit we will try those, Our only regret is we hadn't tried them sooner, all this time searching for a nice cafe and there is a brilliant one in our little town of birstall, perfect I'm sure we will become regulars. If you have not been yet your really missing out!

Was introduced to this delightful cafe by my brother who has lived in Birstall for a good number of years.He raved about the breakfast menu and he was spot on with his praise.The black pudding, tattie scones etc were nearly as good as the ones I take down for my brother when we visit. I even gave them a sample of my special black pudding from Lanark. Cakes, scones etc. were also delicious and the service was ever so friendly with staff returning the banter by giving as as good as they got.I have just returned from an overnight in Birstall but due my short stay being on a Sunday the cafe was closed and I did not get wonderful my fry up but will not make the same mistake on the next visit which will be much longer.The thought is already making our mouths water in anticipation.Thanking all your staff for looking after the motley crew.

Have been many times, with my kids, with friends or on my own with my book. Lovely friendly atmosphere, comfortable setting and polite, friendly and helpful staff. Always welcoming and chatty.The only downside......the cakes! They are so yummy you just can't resist, not great for the waistline lol :)

I have been to the Cafe on the Corner on a few occasions. Every time the staff have been friendly and polite. The last time we went for a family gathering and the food and drink were superb. My hot chocolate was everything you would want a hot chocolate to be. Want the comfortable ambience of Central Perk, but don't want a studio lot in Los Angeles? Try Cafe on the Corner!

We've been to this cafe a number of times and it's just brilliant!The milkshakes are amazing, they are so good that my partner has snuck off to the cafe to get one when I'm on the school run!! The tea is spot on every time and the hot chocolate float is simply indescribable.... ice cream in hot chocolate ......The cakes are brilliant and the food is great!The staff are always friendly and always have time to talk to my children, the place is so welcoming and friendly that it's almost like visiting a friend then a place of business

We love this cafe. For birthdays we go (including Grandad) for special birthday breakfasts. With friends I meet up for coffee and cake. Service is always lovely, friendly and happy. A great addition to the village and well worth a visit.

Dawn, I for one love your little piece of heaven called cafe on the corner you and your lovely staff are brilliant and as for your food it's the very best, especially the bacon sausage egg and mushroom cobs absolutely beautiful keep up the great work sweetpea and forget these trip advisor idiots who put these made up reviews because they own lower quality eating establishments (if you can call them that) bunch of fools Excuse my French.!!! From the outside the cafe looks gorgeous and inviting, but looks can be deceiving. On entering we were greeted with stares from the staff, no smiles or acknowledgments, so instantly we felt unwelcome. We chose to stay as we put it down to maybe a busy day (even though the cafe was just about empty) We ordered some lunch and some drinks. The sandwiches (which cost a fortune!) were just plain old sandwiches, they were not worth the money at all. They weren't bad but they were not worth what we paid.The coffee was ok, ive had better but ive also had worse, My mother chose to have a scone, which had an odd taste to it. My Aunt had a slice of chocolate cake which was not good. It was crumbly because it was so dry. And extremely sickly. And again definitely NOT worth the extraordinary amount it cost! So overall, beautiful cafe, unfriendly, rude staff, expensive plain food, average coffe and dry cake.

On my first visit to this venue, which looks very good and inviting I was disappointed, it felt very unfriendly, we felt as they did not want us there, the staff never engaged with us unless it was to answer a question, no smiles, no chat. To be honest the food potion size was poor to the price of it and the food was very uninviting did not feel satisfied. This was our first visit and to be fair we gave it a second chance but will not be going back for a third visit, as the second was the same as the first very disappointing which is a shame as the venue is warm and great decoration, clean toilets, they have some some things for the kids to play with but that is when the positive stops unfortunately. .
