Excellent little place. Staff are great , service is great. Just one negative bring a winter coat because it gets cold. A++++ *

Had a lovely meal with my wife and two daughters last night (16th October 2024) with very good service whilst having the meal. Finished the meal and retired to the ski-lodge with a second bottle of wine at around 9.15pm. Was offered more drinks around 9.30pm and paid the bill. At 9.45pm was told to drink up and that they were closing even though we still had drinks! Got even worse at 9.55pm when we were told again that they were now closing and had to finish and leave, excellent customer service when you have just spent +£250! Left the remainder of the £32/bottle of wine and walked up to the Curzon Arms to finish off the night where we were made very welcome. Hasten to say that I won't be going back to the Pear Tree ever again!!!!!

Wonderful atmosphere, we ate in the lodge, staff very attentive and happy. The mitre pizza was amazing!! Can't wait to go again..

We had the pleasure of attending the wedding reception of our son and daughter in law last Saturday at The Pear Tree Inn. The venue itself, the food and hospitality was beyond excellent. The staff were superb too, polite helpful and truly professional. It made for a most perfect wedding day

Very good pizza but oh so expensive

Love coming here, especially on pizza night. Brilliant atmosphere with live music. Front of house staff very attentive Service with a smile, nothing is too much trouble. Menu is filled with so much amazing food, its hard to make a choice. The outside area is like being on holiday, beautifully maintained and undercover too.

Never been to either The Pear Tree or Woodhouse Eaves, looks like a cozy four star kind of place, though.

We used to like this place for food and service so picked it as a venue for a small family meal to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. My brother ordered and paid for a special cake on the Thursdsy evening before our Saturday evening meal. On arrival he checked that the cake order was OK and was told it was all fine. After our mains he was told he booked too late and there was no cake. Apparently the staff don't check bookings between 9pm on Thursday to Saturday evening. It does not say this on the website and he was made to feel it was his fault by the owner. As compensation my parents were presented with a scoop of ice cream on a plate with "Happy Anniversary" in chocolate sauce! Was even more insulting. No other discount was offered. When the owner took the cost of the cake off the bill, he didn't even get that right. Overall, it was an extremely disappointing experience and service. We won't be coming back and will be sharing the poor experience with friends.

Visited the Pear Tree a couple of times in the last few weeks. They have redone the outside area, its undercover and it's very nice when the weather is warm. Service was quick. Tried some of their 1m pizzas which were amazing!

Awful Experience !!!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS We went for Sunday lunch first time ever going pear tree through recommendation of someone we knew . Where do I begin gravy was like water no taste at all . My partner had lamb which was all fat . The portion of veg was in a tiny pot with one broccoli piece . Very disappointing to say the least . As it was my partner birthday and we was also sat next two other customers which hadn’t eaten yet we didn’t feel comfortable mentioning it there and then . Which it was quite obvious considering the amount of food we left . I sent an email straight away after . To be told that we would need to pay again and get something “extra” NEVER AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The owner would not offer anything else which shows he is not bothered about customer service at all . If you go down further on reviews hidden by most likely fake reviews you will see this has happened to others .

A great welcome and the staff were amazing throughout. Personally, I would have preferred slightly more choice on the menu, but what I had was very nice. A little noisy as we were sat next to a large party, but nevertheless, an enjoyable evening.

I recently had the most fantastic lunch at the Pear Tree Inn with my wife. Three brothers run this lovely restaurant, and we were thoroughly impressed with our dining experience. To start, we ordered the Stowaway Mussels, and they were delicious. The mussels were cooked to perfection and served in a flavorful broth that had us savouring every bite. Next, we tried their pizzas, which were out of this world. We've had our fair share of pizzas in the Midlands, but these were by far the best we've ever had. The crust was thin and crispy, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. We couldn't get enough of them! For our main course, we I opted for the steak. And let me tell you, it was cooked to perfection. The meat was tender and juicy, and the chef nailed it. The steak was accompanied by a rich peppercorn sauce that elevated the flavours even more. It was a true culinary delight. Overall, our experience at the Pear Tree Inn was exceptional. The food was top-notch, the service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cosy and inviting. First time visiting The Pear Tree and we were not disappointed, the Sunday Lunch menu has plenty of choice and the food was absolutely gorgeous, really tasty and cooked to perfection. The staff could not have been more helpful & polite from the person greeting & showing us to our table to the very hard working table servers , we were very impressed and would definitely visit again

We waited an hour and half for our mains to arrive and even after asking a few times they did not tell us what the hold up was. And when we were asked at the end of the evening if everything was okay we informed them we waited for 90mins for our mains and no reason behind it we were appalled with this level of service and no compensation just a sorry, even though we ordered before else that arrived after us. We paid a deposit too which should have been deducted on the bill and there was no mention of it until we realised after we paid! Very frustrating and let down by the service

Lovely Sunday dinner w a nice atmosphere

Must be the best pizza I’ve had outside Italy and probably as good as the one’s I’ve sampled there.

Food was very good, the French onion soup was very tasty and the pepperoni pizza amazing, cooked in pizza oven, full of flavour and a good sized portion.

The pizza was amazing! Absolutely delicious. The Pear Tree Inn was very cosy and welcoming. The staff was very friendly. I can recommend to try their green dip. So tasty, you wouldn't be disappointed. I will definitely visit again.

Not worth £32 for two course. Portion sizes too small. Left feeling hungry. Much better roast dinners on offer and value for money at nearby pubs!

We don’t visit this restaurant often and only when visiting friends in the area but when we do we always have a great evening. On this occasion it was a Saturday evening and had live music in form of a sax player. Food good and is the service. Very busy so make sure you make a reservation. Pigeon starter is a must try.

Such a disappointing place on a Friday evening for a birthday celebration at the garden. We requested 5 things , and we were denied with big NO. 1) Can we have a birthday cake from outside? NO 2) Can we have a dessert with birthday card or note? NO 3) Can we have burger? NO 4) Can we have milkshake? NO 5) Can we have a birthday song from the guitarist? NO The only things you can do in the garden part there are breathing and having pizza. Absolute disgrace.

The food here is great, the decor and ambience is fantastic. Well worth a visit if good food and beautiful surroundings are your thing.

We had exclusive use of the upstairs area of the restaurant- we were so well looked after. Everything was perfect from start to finish - the space, the food, the warmth of the welcome and not least the wonderful service. There were 24 of us in total, three generations, the space was perfect for everyone, children too. Everyone had the best evening. You helped us make lots of very special family memories, thank you Special thanks to Hannah for the time you devoted in the run up to the event - nothing was too much trouble

Attended last night, parking was a nightmare, eventually was shown to my table after paying £6.50 for a Belgium lager,and £7 for a glass of prosecco, we waited an hour for our food which when arrived was luke warm. The ambience is nice but overpriced and overcrowded,I thought I was in London not a sleepy village in leicestershire

Booked in the lodge with a big party for my friends birthday. Weren’t notified that they’d moved us to the terrace else we’d have cancelled. Didn’t find out until we got there. Service was very very slow. Wrong wines were given out, pizzas wrongly made. Our wine glasses were even taken off the table when we went into the garden for a cigarette because you can’t smoke on the terrace. The only good thing was the sax player. Very over priced for cheap wine, average food and slow service.

We came here for a GCSE results celebration lunch and we were not disappointed. The weather was good so we ate in one of the outside areas. The menu looked varied and appealing. We had appetisers to share followed by a variety of mains including rump steak, pizza (from the outdoor wood-fired pizza oven), prawns with black spaghetti and a great mixed seafood dish (can't remember the name). The food was fantastic and very fresh, if we'd have had more time we'd have stayed for dessert too. The drinks selection was very good including several quality ales and lagers, there were even several mocktails which our 11 year old really enjoyed. The service was exactly what we hoped it would be: attentive without being overbearing and knowledgeable too. This wasn't our first visit (enjoyed that one too) and we're very much looking forward to coming back.

Went for a meal for two. Used up vouchers we got as a wedding present. We were 50/50 due to some reviews we read. Vouchers had to be used so we booked anyway. So glad we did. Food was fantastic beyond belief. So much flavour. Well presented. Partner had the muscles. I had the soup. Then he had the beef and me the pork. No idea what they did to the veg. But it was bloody lovely. Cauliflower cheese 10/10. As for dessert. One sticky toffee pudding and one apple pavlova later. We were fit to burst. Let's not forget the staff either. They did the place proud. Busy busy busy. Thank you for a very memorable meal.

Visiting friends in Leicester, so four of us ate here. Great vibe, tasty food and good service. Not overly expensive. The curried mussels as a starter where one of the best I’ve had. The only negative was that there wasn’t many fish dishes on the menu.

We drove 55 minutes just to go to the ‘Pizza and Sax Night’ at The Pear Tree Inn as friends had recommended it. Staff were lovely, food was great! The guy playing saxophone was incredible and we really enjoyed it. We ordered a Margherita pizza and a Nduja pizza - both brilliant and we had takeaway boxes provided too to bring home! We also had the fries which were a small portion but they were really good. We tried the Green Dip which was advertised for the pizzas but personally we weren’t a fan - it was too sweet for us. They do have other condiments, we had mayonnaise instead.

An absolutely faultless Sunday roast beef with chicken livers to start. Service was attentive and friendly. All condiments offered quickly and extra gravy was brought without complaint. We shared a sticky toffee pud which was spot on. Price is actually not bad either. Could have done with a little more shade on the outside tables but other than that, perfect.

Bad experience unfortunately, I’ve been before and all was okay this time very odd Booked a table, a bit early wanted a drink in the garden before - told no too busy went elsewhere for a drink Went back - Very busy, but still taking bookings Not told you would be outside! Windy and cold on the terrace, and even worse than that tried to seat us on small wooden bench seats at the top of the garden slope - When you’re paying £20 plus for main you don’t expect to be sat on a wooden picnic bench seat . A bit greedy really these seats should be just for drinks. (Which we wanted to start with ) Pizzas are very good. Rest of the food is thin on the ground . Very small steak no sides apart from a few chips and lasagne dry and reheated - no salad or anything with it You need to order sides. Otherwise the main dish is very small and bland The young staff are trying to cope but are clearly struggling - greed by owners ? They are clearly trying to serve too many people by doubling the seating area outside - cannot understand why they don’t just say they are full? ! I would not return. Better local places

Fabulous birthday lunch yesterday at The Pear Tree in Woodhouse Eaves. Raspberry Mojito Divine king prawns in a delicious buttery, lemony sauce. Salmon Niçoise, a good bottle of Chardonnay & a fabulous Roquefort with seedy crackers and a large glass of port! 🥰 My fella had tomato soup and a beautifully tender piece of sirloin. The chips were like chip shaped toasty potatoes: deliciously crispy and fluffy. All delicious and with perfect t service and a lovely atmosphere. We ate on the terrace, which has plenty of well spaced seating. We’ll definitely be calling in again soon.

We really enjoyed our Sunday lunch at the Pear Tree. The venue is delightful and the staff were great- friendly and attentive. My husband’s roast beef was perfect. Rare and full of flavour. I had the cod loin. That too was delicious but I found it a bit messy to eat as it came in a bouillabaisse type sauce. I really needed a finger bowl and plate for the mussel shells. We were glad we’d saved room for pudding - a wonderfully moist sticky toffee pud and a rich dark chocolate mousse. We’ll be back. 😄

Not much to choose from on the menu the beef rump was very rare which is not to my taste not asked how I would like it cooked wouldn’t return unfortunately

We were celebrating our 55th wedding anniversary, with our family , we were a party of 11. The food was excellent, the young staff had been properly trained in customer service and were very helpful. All in all a great family evening at the Peartree. Thank you

Sunday pizza and sax is wonderful! The pizza is amazing and the drinks are great! And the live jazz is exceptional!

Overall, a disappointing experience. We have eaten there many times and really enjoyed it, on this occasion however, we left disappointed. The problems: My husband and another member of our party ordered the Bouillabaisse. It was average however, I had to request a finger bowl and a bowl to put the shells in. The waitress came back with 2 very stall bowls, one which simply had water in it. The bowls were not a suitable size for either purpose and normally one would expect lemon in a finger bowl. Another member of our party ordered pork chop. When it arrived it had to be returned as it wasn’t cooked through. When it reappeared, it was tough and inedible. My friend didn’t want to make a fuss so asked that it be boxed up for her dogs. She had no main. I ordered the salmon salad which was fine but boring. No dressing. On the plus, everyone enjoyed their starters. Going to be giving the 3 stars based on the starter and the location. The food and the service was definitely not 3 star.

Came here for dinner on a Friday night where they have live music in the lodge. The lodge is super cute with the fairy lights, it was raining but we were well covered.

A great night spent at the Peartree in the wooden cabin - fab singer / guitarist Tom and lovely friendly waitress Kya who braved the thunder and lightning to bring us drinks with a smile . Will be back .

Never disappoints. Service always excellent and the food produced is of high quality and tasty. A firm favourite of ours. Whenever the jazz player is playing, it makes it all the more special.

Attended the pizza and sax night on Sunday evening for my friends 30th birthday. Table had been booked on the 1st June and requested that we be put together, we had been placed on 2 separate tables on 2 different levels which made it difficult to hold conversations. The service by the waiting staff was delayed and we received unwelcoming responses from a few of the waiting staff members. Drinks arrived late and sparse, with incorrect orders. The pizza arrived luke warm without the chips or the sauces. The atmosphere was better with just the music playing and without the sax player as the backing music being played sadly did not compliment the ambience. But we have been many times before and and will be returning. We have attended the sax and pizza night previously and have thoroughly enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service.

Discovered the Pear Tree by chance and visited on a Saturday lunch time; we chose from the fixed menu - food delicious and service good, would recommend! Only 4 stars as disappointed and bit put out by being given two menus then being told that the orders for the whole table had to come from only one of the menus!

Lovely location, it was a warm evening so we sat outside. They had a saxophone player who moved around the various areas. We ordered off the menu (not pizza side) and the food was very good. Plenty of staff about to get anything you wanted, a bit more expensive than I'd usually pay but it's in line with the prices in the area.

My wife and I went for her birthday. The night was pizza and sax night. The sax player was good and played really well and wasn't over the top. Food was spot on. They tweaked the pizza menu a little somethings worked others didn't for us. However, the food was still outstanding and the puddings we received top quality. The service was a little spotty tonight but all the staff I had spoken with where both friendly and helpful and thats why we keep coming back, thanks again guys.

Great service & quality food. Was rather quiet on a Wednesday lunchtime but that meant we could take our time, not feeling rushed. We took a table inside at the bar area as we had the dog with us.
