I've only just discovered this place and I wish I'd found it sooner! One of the only takeaway places round here where the food doesn't taste greasy and soggy. Had 2 orders in the last week and they've been on time, hot, really delicious and good quality!
Popped in to pound bakery to grab some sausage rolls, cobs and a pasty. I was served quickly and with a smile. The atmosphere in the shop was good and the staff are friendly and welcoming.
There were 2 people there when we arrived at 1.45pm on a Sunday and yet there was unnecessarily loud music playing through the speakers (the bar lady could not hear me initially). The manager’s two young daughters were sitting in the bar playing games on an iphone with the sound audible above the music even though we sat in the next room (restaurant), The bitter was not on and the Guinness was very average. We intended to eat but left. Shame, as it is very local to us.

It is a real pleasure for me to tell you about my fantastic and positive surprise in eating at @themidyeci ... I spent a beautiful evening among the smiles, kindness, attention and skill of the guys of this Turkish restaurant, famous for its stuffed mussels but which also made me meet other flavours that I fell in love with for all the emotions given to my palate.
Their secret? The great PASSION in the preparation of the different dishes and the absolute FRESHNESS of the products, mussels are bought every morning and ... believe me ... you will immediately notice!
Surely their mussels stuffed with rice are their specialty and ... believe me ... they are absolutely NOT to be missed: try the natural ones, the spicy ones, the ones with shrimps... but don't forget to order the other dishes too because they are one better than the other, accompanying everything with an excellent Turkish beer that won’t disappoint you!
I am normally a Greggs girly when it comes to a bacon roll, but recently I saw a sign at the pantry for “hot bacon rolls” and thought I would give it a try…and I was not disappointed! I managed to park conveniently right outside and went in to a calm, cool and cozy environment. I was greeted immediately and served quickly and my roll was amazing! Will definitely be returning 🙂
Great cafe with friendly staff and volunteers, and tasty food. Always a good atmosphere. There is a play area for kids, and they sometimes have volunteers running activities and crafts for the children. They have a selection of books to borrow or read at your table. It's a great place to come socially, or to do a bit of work with a coffee.
Be careful of their pizza that can damage your teeth. I ordered a £9.95 Shoe Sole (Margherita - tomato and mozzarella chese) and £3.95 250ml still water, one of the worst experiences I have had eating out.
Just wanted to leave a review to say thank you. My newborn kept waking up from her naps and would cry when she heard the ice cream van song, I politely asked if they wouldn’t mind parking a little bit further down the road as it had happened on a few occasions. The person driving the ice cream van was very nice about it and even apologised which wasn’t necessary. Since this, they continue to park on the opposite road and don’t play the song. So THANK YOU very much for being so respectful! 😄
