Please boycott, they believed my friend's natural lack of coordination was an excuse to disallow him entry on the grounds of being drunk, he has a disability not an alcohol dependency

Equator is a home from home place. It s friendly, relaxing, great bar staff with a great choice of drinks and I wish I could bottle the atmosphere. Customers are great, like a family. The music is really good too. I have spent many a time at the bar in here and enjoyed every minute.

Went to this bar on Saturday night , was served by a lovely guy very pleasant & well mannered ! I think his name was Lee ! I couldn’t believe he was the only one serving on the bar he was on his own all night ! the place was really busy ! He didn’t get stressed, just dealt with the customers ! I’m just shocked he was alone ! Just had to post to say what a great guy he was , definitely go there again just to see him ! he went above & beyond !!

A small bar, but a great place to meet and chat. I was there to celebrate Villa & Proud's 5th birthday. They did a special claret and blue cocktail just for the event.

Lovely atmosphere, super clean, fine bar and mature crowd. My girlfriend and I have thoroughly enjoyed having a few drinks and having a chat with the friendly barman. Will be back again

This is my second time here and it is a lovely place great atmosphere and very friendly staff . Would recommend this place to come drink prices are good . Will come again when in Birmingham for the day or the weekend.

Won’t be going back. We only popped in as they keep saying use it or lose it. Normally go to missing or the fountain but which we’ll stick to going forward. The person that served us was more interested continuing their conversation with someone than welcoming us. Served us without saying a single word and shoved a card machine at us. Never again. This was last night. We had one and left, never to return.

Absolutely love spending a Saturday afternoon/evening in this bar, just a nice, friendly, chilled place to visit.

Really friendly bar and a great place to start the night. The only thing I’d suggest is using fresh lime instead of cordial. It was a really bad vodka soda and lime. Even the straight bars have switched to fresh now.

Popped in for a drink and was very warmly welcomed by both bar staff and customers . The bar is softly lit and very relaxing.... seating was comfortable and it was airy either the glass frontage open. Would absolutely recommend to anyone for a friendly relaxed evening out. Great music... not to loud so conversations could be had. Definitely give this bar a visit.... you will go again and again.

I don't always pop by equator on my travels (although, I really should) but when I have, the service provided by the friendly bar staff has been absolutely fantastic! Drinks are reasonably priced and not overly expensive in comparison to other bars around the city centre as a whole and a chilled atmosphere too. Overall, a lovely little independent bar to visit for relaxing and enjoying few drinks! ☺️

Friendly and cosy vibe, great interior and comfortable atmosphere. Nice to go with friends as it’s not too loud. autism-friendly. Debbie and Stan are always friendly and welcoming. Honestly one of the top bars in brum.

Fab bar where you can actually have a conversation because the music is at the right volume! Plus the songs are great too! Super friendly staff (shout out to Stan!) and a fab setting make this a venue I’d definitely recommend 👍

Good place for quiet drink after work

This a very nice bar well situated in the Gay Village. There's comfy seating, good music and a great atmosphere. The thing that makes this a 5 satr review are the staff. Lee and Stan were very welcoming and made me feel right at home from the minute I walked in. I had a fun night and will definitely be back.

Lovely cosy type bar and seems to be one of the quieter ones if you want to get away from the noisier, louder ones. Good decor and seating. A shame on the night we visited the music and lights were turned off around 930pm so we drank up as quickly as we could to leave. Probably wouldn't revisit based on this experience, but can imagine a nice bar and atmosphere on a different night

Great atmosphere and friendly vibe! You can actually hear yourselves talk and have good conversation in a funky and relaxed place while enjoying quality music. Staff were very welcoming and funny too!

A beautiful friendly bar who welcome new and old customers with a friendly smile. I love the atmosphere with a nice choice of music. There is a nice sitting out area with table and chairs where you can relax and people watch. Equator offer a fine selection of drinks and some tasty tempting cocktails.

Great friendly place, we only popped in this time for a coffee. Superb coffee awesome touch it came with a custard cream biscuit.

Beautifully designed; gorgeous ambient lighting; perfect chilled Jazz at a moderate volume; friendly staff. It could use the heating being turned on and a wider choice of wine but otherwise spot on!

The bar man saw me outside approaching the bar. As soon as I walked in and got to the bar, my pint was already waiting for me! Cannot fault that for service. Defo A1 service there without a doubt.

Absolutely amazing place. From the owner to all of the bar staff and customers. It’s such a friendly place with a fantastic atmosphere. The drinks are very cheap but that doesn’t diminish the quality of drinks or service. I can’t recommend this bar highly enough. I live in Preston, lancashire and it’s my “ go to “ bar when I’m back home visiting Birmingham. Such a wonderful place to relax, unwind and meet new friends .always on trend and spotlessly clean.

Myself and my fiancé ended up in there while we were passing. We left to move on elsewhere, but on way back, I realised I was missing my shopping, and it was not with me in the last place I was in. I then realised, I had left it in Equator, where it was still sitting when we returned. We were made well y Debbie, the owner and her dad, who everyone that goes in there, calls Pops, including myself. I love ❤️ the place. It’s like a home from home, except with a bar LOL 😆

Such a very friendly and welcoming place to relax and enjoy a drink and a chat in. Always made to feel welcome, have a great selection of gins and rums, aswell as beers. Equator bar has always had a place in my heart. From working there to enjoying great nights out. The atmosphere, the staff are always friendly and the venue is stunning. The Owner definitely has an great eye for refurbishment.

This is an outstanding bar to visit. You will always find a friendly face here, and the customer service is fantastic. If you have never visited this bar before you are in for a treat.

My favourite venue in Birmingham by a long way. The staff make me feel like I have come home. I'm disabled they help as I need it and keep my dignity too. Honestly can't praise the place enough.
