Outstanding Momos! Must try in Reading, UK.

Nice friendly service, not busy one Thursday lunch. Sukuty Chatpatey was like a huge plate of Bel Puri with fried buffalo meat but quite tasty! Pork Thupka was an aromatic spicy noodle soup with strips of pork, perfect for the rainy day. Interior was nice, entrance was down the back of another business. Food was OK in a home cooking kinda way, quite satisfying. The chai was very good, tho.

Very enriched and layered tastes, in a relaxing background music, with friendly staff.

This is our first time trying Nepalese food. It's much beyond our expectation. Very lovely and helpful staff as well. Will definitely come back soon

The chicken chowmein and thukpa here is absolutely amazing, Chillim has become my new go to place whenever I’m craving noodles. Staff are nice as well, which is another bonus.

Incredible find.. Had Nepali food after 12 years and this place and the food is amazing. Its a hidden gem, with cozy Nepali music, wonderful vibe and delicious Momos and Hakka Noodles. This is what w3 had and excited to try more food here. Highly recommend 👐

Very bad service. It literally took 2 hours to get one dish which also was very bad. They even try to charge overcharge from what they showed in the menu and even after they were trying so hard not give the receipt or bill which was really bad. Horrible experience. Never going back again.

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Chillum Kitchen a charming Nepalese eatery. The moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, complete with traditional decor and a soothing ambiance. The menu offered a delightful array of authentic Nepalese dishes, each one more flavorful than the last. We started with the prawns tempura, a savory appetizer that perfectly set the tone for the meal. We then proceeded to have the combo meal that comprised of chicken fried rice and chicken momos with a side of sauce and chicken thukpa, the presentation was quite nice. The service was impeccable. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive, and made sure that every detail of our dining experience was perfect. If you're looking for a truly memorable dining experience, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. The food is exceptional, the service is top-notch, and the atmosphere is inviting. It's a must-try for anyone who appreciates authentic Nepalese cuisine.

Unfortunately my expectations were set quite high for this place when I saw the reviews on Google. The menu is condensed so you would expect everything to be available. However, when we asked for the tandoori chicken we were told it isn't available and will take a long time to prepare it if we are willing to wait. I had 2 hungry children with me so waiting wasn't an option. The food that we did get in the end was tasty and cooked well. The condiment that came with some of the dishes wasn't to my liking. The place is quite small you can possibly get 28 people. I didn't enjoy the atmosphere either. There was a big screen TV with Indian music videos playing non stop. It's a shame as I hate writing negative reviews.

The food was really an amazing.We had wai wai chatpatey,aloo nimki ,chowmein combo and some drinks.The cocktail was very top notch.The chatpatey and momo gives really an amazing nepali taste.The chowmein and aloo nimki is an average.Talking about customer service it sets the gold standard, blending sweetness with efficiency to make our experience truly unforgettable.Higly recommend this one must visit here

One of my anytime-anymood-go-to-option. I had food at restaurants and I did order to home as well. The taste reminds me of the street style food I used to have at hometown. The place is a bit cosy but, maybe that makes the food more enjoyable.

It is really sad that I’m having to write this review but unfortunately, being their customer from the last 7 years, I have every right to express how horrible my experience has been with chillim the last 2 times. I do not recommend this place anymore and will not go to chillim again. Despite their staff and owners knowing me, no one greeted us. I even looked at the owner hoping I’d say a hi if he smiles or says hello, but nothing. He just asked the servers to come from inside and serve us. They never used to be like this and I was always greeted with a smile previously. Next we decided to place an order and I requested for chilli oil with momos, for the first time in the last 7 years, the server came back and said they don’t have any. I said no worries, thank you. I have introduced so many of my friends and family to this place and it’s just sad to see them behave this way. Chillim recently started doing 10% off if we post a pic of them on our instagram and tag them. I shared a pic and tagged chillim on my story the last to last time I went and they gave me a discount. The second time I went with a friend and shared a story again, the lady said unfortunately the discount can only be availed on the “next visit”. Today, when I visited them again and showed them the picture they said “no sorry, you have to post it as a permanent picture on instagram”. Why are they lying so much? 10% off won’t make much of a difference to my bank account, but the ethics and loyalty is lost from their end. It’s as if they have offered the discount only to attract customers and then cheat them by coming up with different terms and conditions! I told the lady we were told we will be given a discount next time and she declined. Chillim I really hope these £10 that you have saved today help you in the future because you’ve lost a customer and her friends and family today. Horrible customer service, If a customer of 7 years can be treated this way, god knows how new customers get treated.

As we ate twice times over here . It is really fantastic restaurant . Food was really delicious and staff were friendly . Please visit by Chillim . Pretty sure you will be satisfied 😊

Don't order takeaway. We ordered 2h in advance and were asked to pay up-front, when we arrived, 2 minutes before the pickup time, they cancelled. A very bad drive home for us and no refund in sight. UPDATE in response to reply: It seems that the fault may be in choosing foodhub to handle orders, they do take money up front on your behalf. I'm questioning if they even managed to give you the order at all or if they just messed us both around. From reviews of them I might suggest you find an alternate company to represent you in this.

Unbelievable, i ordered at 10:20pm.I was told the food would take 15mins to be prepared, so I sat down and waited inside. I was the only customer. Waited till 11pm and I still have not received my food. The chefs and staff were having fun in the kitchen. I walked out after they told me it's going to take another 5 minutes. I could still see them just laugh in the kitchen without the slightest concern about my food. Lost appetite to have your food, and genuinely disappointed. Please dont run a restaurant if you don't know how to care for your customers.

We had a lovely meal at this small and intimate Nepalese restaurant this evening. My favourite was the chilli chicken momos which were nice and crispy and flavourful. We asked for the chowmein to be made spicy and they delivered. Only think I would say is that the tandoori chicken was overcooked and burnt and I didn't like that it was served with what seemed to be siracha sauce. I would prefer for it to be served with chutney. It did seem nicely marinated, just needed to be grilled less. But overall we had a lovely meal, prices are affordable so I'm sure we'll come back at some point.

Opened again and the quality is very good. The prices were increased a little bit but are average prices. The good is fresh made and delicious. The person did not understand exactly what I want but I accepted to try a new dish. Happy with.

Have been to this lovely place for a couple times . My favourite was Thukpa . Chow mein and egg fried rice are yummy too ~ definitely recommend P/s the chef need some time to prep food so need to be patient.

DELICIOUS FOOD! nteresting, authentic menu with lost of unusual options and some classics too. The food was fresh and so so tasty! The place was absolutely packed with a a nice atmosphere and the service absolutely seamless. We were given a choice about spice levels for each of our menu choices. Would highly recommend!

A small, Formica table family place. I had shapaley starter (like a curry puff with minced meat filling), and buff shukuti chow mein (yes, it's a thing in Nepal too) . Buff is buffalo. Both were delicious, and that was plenty for 1. I'd recommend and go back, for unpretentious Nepali food in a simple setting .

We ordered Chicken Fried rice - Fried momo combo and Thukpa momo. Food was delicious with right amount of spices and salt.. Reasonable price..

A nice pleasant surprise. Small restaurant but really well kept - neat & mainly really friendly staff & service. The food was fresh & tasty, simple menu but done well. We tried the salad, momos, chowmein & fried rice. Each dish was freshly made, and spiced just right. Will definitely visit again.

We celeberated our daughter's birthday party here recently in the basement decorations and tables were great and the food was very nice ie; delicious starters freshly cooked punjabi veg samosa, chicken n pork dumplings momos, fried pork ofals, chutney, battered hot chicken wings and aludam and dry fried parched rice chiura. Main meals chicken curry lamb curry prawn crackers salada daahl lentils mix veg curry all absolutely very tasty. Thank you Chillim Kitchen.
