The food is absolutely delicious. From the freshly made bread to the smoky and rich flavours of the starters. The portions are huge, very good value for money, plus I always end up saving some left overs for lunch. Highly recommend!

Awesome food, service, location and ambience, huge portions, definitely recommended. I’ve been there with my wife, our son and my sister-in-law and everyone loved their food. I’ve had two of my favourite Persian dishes, kashk-e-bademjan and kebab koobideh, and they were perfectly executed and served. My wife and her sister, who were both born in Tehran where they’ve lived for at least 20 years, loved all food too. The wine list is quite limited but our Shiraz was great value for money. I’ve seen that the only poor reviews here on TripAdvisor criticised the staff but actually in our case they’ve been extremely friendly and we all loved their custom made “woman, life, freedom” t-shirts. By this summer they should also complete a bar on the lower level, literally on the Thames, and I’m looking forward to coming back then. Their position is already great, above the river with good views, but some outdoor space will further improve this amazing restaurant.

Food wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good either service below average service charge was not justified at all. Dishes were cheap rubbish and their excuse was it’s traditional which is not true. Lat time I went there was 6 years ago but I will never go back again.

I’m sorry but we were disappointed this evening. Lovely waitress but no ambiance. Lights too bright. Felt like a canteen. Strange table settings where plates stuck fast to plastic table coverings. Food mediocre. Bill was incorrectly calculated and over charged by 10%. Really hoped for a better experience.

The food is day light robbery for it's price! , the service is not that great either like you are spending 2 pounds in a McDonald's but you are spending well over 50 quid for just 2 people !!! I don't recommend it at all, very disappointing as we wanted authentic middle Easternfood for this price !. My husband is kurdish so he knows what he is on about and him and his sisters can cook amazing compared to this and for a fraction of the price too. It says halal but they serve alcohol for business i guess? The white/plain rice seemed microwaved so that was extremely disappointing as well . Don't bother is how I would sum it up

Yesterday Came for dinner on a child's birthday and were very disappointed. the service was cold and indifferent, and they didn’t even congratulate the child on his birthday, I don’t think the restaurant would go bankrupt if I brought one candle for the child’s attention and joy the stuff saw our holiday balloons, they were big and bright... the stuff knew that we came to celebrate as a family. It’s a pity, we visited this restaurant many times and openly recommended it, but we have no desire to come again... Despite the fact that we ordered a lot of food and didn’t sit for that long, the waiter came up to ask if we were ready to pack food with us, although we were still just eating slowly, I thought he was trying to rush us and it really surprised me since there were others there visitors. It's a shame we chose this restaurant on such an important day for us. it was the child's birthday, I don’t think the restaurant would go bankrupt if I brought one candle for the child’s attention and joy.

Persian Palace helped me a lot when I was let down by another restaurant with two days before a very important event. I didn't know anything about this place, but it was everything super and I want to thank you for the very good food and very friendly and helpful staff. For sure I will come back here!

Treat for my son living in Reading Salad Olivieh with freshly baked Persian bread, followed by lamb and chicken kebab for me, lamb for my son. DELICIOUS, large portions, take home box for my son. Persian ice cream and sorbet for desert absolutely fantastic, distinct. Sorbet with 'noodles' with delicate rose water flavour but squeezing lemon over it made it yet more special. And you must have Persian tea to finish!

It used to be excellent but now it's just average good. I think something has changed. Their kobideh was not as good as the previous times, the portion size was a bit smaller, and I felt the kabab was a mixture of lamb and beef (instead of just lamb)! Plus the price was higher! These are not good signs, I hope they recover their previously great quality!

It's a decent Persian place outside London. Food and service is good. Parking is a bit difficult here.

Visited Saturday night for a meal with friends. Really good evening. Very friendly and polite staff. Great service and food very tasty! They even made an effort to celebrate one of our partys Birthday. Definately worth a visit.

What a great place!! There was so much food and it was really tasty, the rice is amazing and they cook the bread fresh. What really makes it though is the service; wonderful and friendly staff, super helpful, warm and welcoming. The team made our visit an absolute joy and a pleasure.

Used to have a better quality food and management system before. Taking advantage of Covid to hike prices. Don't offer a muslim family an alcohol Menu 😡.

Our family really enjoyed first time experience eating Persian food. This restaurant is set in lovely pretty location of Reading, right by the Thames river bridge which created a great view and atmosphere p. The food portion size is incredible, lovely combination of ingredients and well presented tea. The staff were very friendly and provided a good service. However, parking is bit of an issue being located on busy main road. Will return again!

We just had delicious lunch at Persian Palace. Wonderful atmosphere, outstanding service and excellent food. The restaurant was newly redecorated and looks beautiful inside with the addition of classic music. We’ll be back soon. Recommend to everyone.

All food I tried was amazing, I really recommend this restaurant.

It was a family birthday not organised by myself but it was all very impressive and the atmosphere was just right. Staff had clearly taken time to make the room suitable firvtge occasion.

Great Reading staple restaurant. Amazing attentive service. Food is, as always, perfect. This was the first time I actually visited the place in person - previously always had food delivered or collected. It does taste more fresh in the restaurant but I must say I prefer it delivered after the flavours had a chance to mingle in the delivery container. Personal preference I guess.

An honest Persian food lovers review. Upon arriving you’ll be hit with the stench of a stale bar, very musty smell. But you push past that. In a dimly lit, bar/reception area, you have to beckon a waiter to be seated. They are not very forthcoming. Wearing some obscure political Iranian secular t-shirts! Ordering a platter it comes with the blandest, most inedible rice, with a squirt of yellow looking food colouring; is this meant to be saffron, clearly not. The bread costs £2.20 a portion, no where in the UK do you pay for complimentary bread, it was cold, burnt and not the best As an accompaniment to the meat. The meat platter was over cooked, bland, unseasoned, tough and chewy. At £70/plate it was not worth the price, if only it had been cooked and edible!! Tender it was not! If you want chops, or anything remotely interesting you’ve got to order it separately. Lamb chops were, a small Portion of at £21-00, really!!! This wasn’t Salt-Bae/Nusr et!! Something very wrong here! You are almost forced to buy cans, at £2.95, this is reading not Kensington! Even asking for tap water is frowned upon. The waiters/waitresses are condescending, whilst having limited English, they place a 10% compulsory service charge, where service from them was inept, rude and quite hostile. When we asked about the service-less service charge they said they’d have to refer it to a remote manager and that she’d have to decide. So, I rest my case, no one’s in charge and fail they will. Time to jump into the Thames, about the only good thing about this place. Service 0/10 Food quality 2/10 Food presentation 0/10 Pricing 0/10 Staff communication 0/10 Staff attitude to customers 0/10 Restaurant cleanliness 1/10 Avoid this place and try other venues. Will definitely not be returning again anytime soon.

An excellent lunchtime venue with great views of the River Thames teaming with swans, geese and ducks. Tasty food with large portions, traditional bread and lots of meat. Roomy venue, not busy at lunchtime. The only down point was a very irritating very high pitch whine caused by cooking rice over gas (so I was told). Fortunately it ended after an hour. If I go there again and the whine is there, I would come back later.

Not recommended for people with allergies. We asked the waiter three times to not include any nuts to our dishes because our daughter is anaphylactic to them and yet they brought us starters garnished with walnuts.. Of course after this we could no longer trust that this restaurant takes food allergies seriously enough and my daughter did not have any food. That was our third time visiting this restaurant and unfortunately the last.

Unfortunately, I will no longer come to this restaurant. Food is decent here but the waiters can be extremely rude. Totally unacceptable service from staff and management. When I raised an issue with the management they rudely told me if I don’t like it I can leave the restaurant. Absolutely shocking behaviour. Really disgusted just because the store was quiet and no other customers around, they felt they could get away with disrespectful behaviour.

Lovely food really disappointed with the service. Went with my family to celebrate our anniversary. The lady that served us said our reservation was cancelled then goes oh no its okay and sat us. We got our food pretty instant and was nice and fresh. However, when it was time to pay we tried getting the attention so many times but nothing. Then asked the guy who was like okay went never saw him for another 15 min so had to go back and ask finally got the bill. As we were leaving the same guy looked at us and looked away and didn't want to interact. Not even thank u for coming. It's nothing major but small things would want to make u come back.

Amazing food, friendly staff, good service. The decor is really detailed and extremely well done. There are some traditional floor-seating sections towards the front which are a great experience. I'd highly recommend get their freshly made naan in the on-site tandoor, and also get a pot of Persian tea at the end of your meal (you'll end up having more than one). It used to be reasonably priced, however they might have increased prices recently because our last visit the bill was much, much higher than I expected even though we got mostly the same stuff we usually order. I'd recommend it as a one-off for the experience but be warned to expect £30-£40 per person. Wouldn't recommend it for the prices, which are now too high.

I am a big fan or Persian palace in Ealing. Passing by reading area thought to get food but after eating it didn’t taste like Persian palace. I felt I am eating from a different place. To eat best Kubbideh go to Ealing Persian palace.

I had tried the Persian Palace in Ealing previously and loved the food. So thought I would try the reading one and must say I was not disappointed. The mixed starter tray with freshly baked Persian flat bread is delicious and does have the authentic taste of Persian home cooking. We had the mixed kebab tray which was served with rice for four of us. The meat was cooked to perfection with Sumac and saffron. Yum. Will definitely go again.

Absolutely delicious Persian food!! It all seemed so traditional and tasty!! With a great view overlooking the Thames! This is a restaurant that definitely needs trying!! Also, for what you spend the portions are more than decent!!At times it felt like the waitron was pushing as to have more,as is the business, but sometimes they should just let it be, unless it's a great recommendation. I E. The traditional bread that is baked fresh whilst you wait!! Unsure of parking near the site though.

Nice 0lace shame food was cold so they took away and was back in 2 mins I asked if they microwaved it they said they did. Annoyed at this they cooked fresh again and was nice. Staff very friendly and authentic decor. I would not go again though

Great food here!!. We had a mix grill which was ginormous.We couldn't eat it all so we had to take some away. This place is so authentic and the flavours are buzzing. They make their own breads which does take it to the next level for me. Definitely worth a visit especially on a nice day where you get river side views. Thanks so much 🙏 💓
