From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. Service was top-notch, with staff checking in just the right amount. It’s clear that attention to detail is a priority here. I highly recommend Persian Palace to anyone looking for delicious food, great service, and a memorable dining experience. This place looked amazing at first, nice food by the riverside, who wouldn’t want that? I was even thinking about making this the ‘nice restaurant’ to bring friends and families here. But the service here is awful. The food came out quite late and we’ve had to repeatedly remind staff for our bread and water, whilst the staff was being quite rude to us and being pushy about us ordering more (despite being very full). It’s a shame.

The food was delicious. We had a lovely lunch with friends, sitting by the water. It was a relaxed environment, where you could have a nice relaxed meal. There were a lot of options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike.

Hi yes the place was very clean every time I have been there the service was very good every time the lady server was very professional .I just don't no her name .but pretty and always smiling. So go and experience it u would love the food at the atmosphere. I would go there again and again. 👍👍👌

I visited Persian Palace in Reading with friends and had a very disappointing experience. The service was extremely slow — we waited far too long for our food. When the food finally arrived, they brought the starter and main course at the same time, which made the meal feel rushed and poorly organized. The waitress was very aggressive and unfriendly, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. On top of that, the food quality was below average, definitely not what we expected for the price we paid. I recently went to Persian Palace in Reading with some friends and had a really disappointing time. The service was extremely slow — we waited far too long before anything came out. When the food finally did arrive, they served the starter and the main course together, which made the meal feel rushed and poorly timed. The staff, particularly our waitress, was quite rude and unwelcoming, which created a very uncomfortable atmosphere. As for the food itself, it was below average in both taste and quality — definitely not worth the high prices they charge. Overall, the experience felt chaotic, overpriced, and unpleasant. What a horrible place! Smelly restaurant with arrogant staff! I was already told by friends not to visit!

The riverside dining area is a death trap / a coffin. It never received planning approval. Planning rules are in place to keep us safe, not to be ignored for your profits.

Halal food . I went there for a late afternoon snacks and ended up with dinner . First we had freshly made bread with hummus then we had our main food . We ordered for two but it was so much in quantity so our son also eat with us and rest we have packed home . The quantity is really good and the service is really nice . Happy smiling face persons are working here . After the meal don’t forget to take the fresh mint tea with Baklave . The tea is sooo good . You will Get nice view beside the river while eating you can enjoy the view too and now it’s spring so the river is full with swans . They have shisha also downstairs .

We had a delicious dinner at the Persian Palace by Caversham Bridge, finishing off with Iranian ice-cream, which was a tasty and refreshing way to conclude the meal.The staff were charming, even translating the Persian poetry adorning the walls for us, and we could watch the sun go down over the Thames through the big windows.

This place is amazing. The food is fresh and beats your expectations. The service was very good and they were very accommodating and generous. The view and scenery was also amazing and very scenic. No issue at all everything was great.

Great location on the river, great service & attentive staff, food wise was good but perhaps a little more meat for the price in my opinion. On the menu was the sheesha flavours, but no price next to it, we didn't think to ask the price and just ordered anyway after our meal as we've had sheesha in many places before around England & london, ..but really shocked when it revealed to be £30 on our bill (for just the two of us), .... that's WAY TOO expensive for what it is & really put a damper on the rest of the day. Come on Persian Palace, .. please don't sting us like that 😩

Very good food, polite and kind staff. Food portions are huge but they always offer to pack it for you. Highly recommended specially during sunny days to enjoy the terrace with spectacular view.

Had the KHORESHT-E-GHEIMEH BADENJAN, lamb stew with aubergine, lime, yellow lentil and tomato sauce. Delicious. Bread starter with dips were amazing. Menu looks a bit pricey but the mains are huge and you realise what you've paid for so don't over order starters etc. Staff friendly and attentive. Been before and will be back again.

We had a large online order for a family gathering. Mina was very helpful noting down any special requests. Everything arrived on time and the kebabs and all other food was delicious. I will definitely use Persian Palace again.

We had an amazing meal at Persian Palace in Reading. The atmosphere was warm, and the staff were welcoming. The highlight was the aubergine starter with naan—rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The lamb shanks were tender and perfectly cooked, served with fragrant rice and broth. The tea was just okay, but the presentation was stunning, served in a beautiful Persian teapot with elegant glasses. The baklava was a sweet ending to a great meal. A wonderful experience overall!

The food was very good and with generous portions. They have a good range of cocktails and cocktails which are made very well. Nice environment and location on the river.

Good service and fresh food. Taste was on point but the place itself was a little sterile. Couldn't appreciate the view as it was evening but sure it is a good one. I would say compared to other persian places I've eaten at this was a tad expensive (my only criticism) definitely worth going to check out for a treat etc

We were a group of 20 who was celebrating an event, they accommodated us perfectly with delicious food and excellent service. 5/5 experience, highly recommend!

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. This was, without a doubt, the worst dining experience I have ever had in my life. Everything about this restaurant was a disaster from start to finish. First, we were completely forgotten about after being seated. It took ages just to get a menu, and when we finally did, the staff acted as if they were doing us a favor by handing them over. The rudeness was shocking—they were dismissive, impatient, and downright unprofessional. After waiting an eternity, our food finally arrived—and it wasn’t even what we ordered. The bread was burned to a crisp, the meat was overcooked and tasted like charcoal, and the rest of the food was cold, stale, and barely edible. The worst part? We paid a ridiculous amount of money for food that was absolutely inedible. To make matters worse, the cutlery and cups were filthy, as if they hadn’t been washed in days. The entire restaurant was dirty, the tables were sticky, and the toilets were a nightmare—filthy, smelly, and completely unhygienic. The whole place had a disgusting, foul odor that made it even harder to eat the already horrible food. The staff? Rude, demanding, and completely indifferent to our complaints. Instead of apologising, they acted as if we were the problem. I have never been treated so badly at a restaurant before, and it was absolutely humiliating, especially since I was there with a group of 12 friends. We wasted so much time and money here, and I regret ever stepping foot in this place. It was an embarrassing, frustrating, and disgusting experience from start to finish. Save yourself the disappointment and DO NOT COME HERE.

We always visit the Ealing branch but this time as we were visiting our friends in Newbury we thought we should try the Reading branch. As always food was fantastic, staff were friendly and the location and the atmosphere were delightful. I am sure we will be back soon, Keep up the good work.

EDIT FEB 2025: Persian food can be found in many restaurants. The ONE THING that made Persian Palace unique was its incredibly detailed, authentic, bright and colourful art and craft. Painted poetry on the walls, traditional colourful carpets, artwork depicting rural scenes, traditional lamps, etc. Someone decided to scrap all that and they have now got a bland black & white decor instead. Persian Palace used to be vibrant, colourful place we used to visit and also bring guests. Now it's lost that character, and there is nothing appealing about it specifically, because Persian food can be found elsewhere too. Persian Palace scrapped its main selling point: the vibe. OLD REVIEW (2023): Amazing food, friendly staff, good service. The decor is really detailed and extremely well done. There are some traditional floor-seating sections towards the front which are a great experience. I'd highly recommend get their freshly made naan in the on-site tandoor, and also get a pot of Persian tea at the end of your meal (you'll end up having more than one). It used to be reasonably priced, however they might have increased prices recently because our last visit the bill was much, much higher than I expected even though we got mostly the same stuff we usually order. I'd recommend it as a one-off for the experience but be warned to expect £30-£40 per person. Wouldn't recommend it for the prices, which are now too high.

A hidden treasure just beside the Caversham Bridge, must try the kebab platter for two which will give you 3 different kebabs to try and unbelievable amount leaving no space for dessert. Ambience is amazing with the river view from terrace.

Great food, nice atmosphere and all the staff are always very warm and welcoming. The very definition of service with a smile! I would recommend it for all but certainly any fellow Persians.

Really tasty, also used the side elevated sitting table, really nice if you want to try something different.
