We stopped by Geo Cafe while passing through, and it was such a pleasant surprise! The breakfast we ordered was absolutely delicious – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The owner was incredibly nice and welcoming, making us feel right at home. To top it off, we were treated to some desserts on the house, which were equally amazing. This place has a cozy vibe and great food. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Terrible customer service. Couldn't even be bothered to apologise for a ridiculous wait to warm up a quiche. Ended up taking away in a brown paper bag to have at home. Asked for a refund beforehand and the staff couldn't even do that !! What a shame as coffee is good .

2024: so we gave this place another chance today and I will say I was wrong. The racist lady isn’t there anymore and we were served by extremely nice young girlies who were lovely to interact with. Food is 10/10 and atmosphere is cute and cosy💕🩷 never say never I guess 2022 review: Went there with my mum dad and sister who are visiting reading. I’ve been there before and no problem. We were served by a middle aged brunette who was extremely rude. She only had a problem with my mum who is a hijabi. My mum asked if we can have extra cutlery and she gave her a whole lecture about how staff get abused by customers??? She refused to give an extra cup of tea😂 Never going again, not acceptable treatment.

EDIT: I have revisited this cafe 4 times since and unfortunately the wrap has been disappointing every time since; bland in flavour. However I do recommend the pistachio croissant and the coffee is of nice quality too. Amazing service, very friendly staff. It does get very busy in the cafe but they have seating in the back. Aside from the coffee, if i were to recommend one thing; itd definitely be the chicken wrap with the walnut sauce! Must try.

Good food. Really long waits. 40+ mins for one wrap to go. Not worth such a long wait in fairness. Got a refund. Avoid going at peak lunch times, clearly can’t handle the level of customers.

I wanted to like it, and my coffee was nice, but the service was so disorganised. In the one hour I was there, multiple queues of takeaway customers built up, one person's sit-in order was forgotten, another's was delivered to the wrong table, and a vegan was given cow's milk. One table gave up waiting. The shop had also ran out of bread (and most cake), there was no loo roll in the toilets, and the khachapuri was advance order only - there's really isn't much Georgian stuff on the menu. A real shame - hopefully, the staff will sort it out and learn to cope with their popularity.

The food is nice and the bread is good. Space is very small and tight and the service is quite cold and unfriendly. The cafe generally is very unfriendly for kids (kid need to be kept on “leash” otherwise they are told off) - owners should probably not allow people with kids, rather than make a really unpleasant experience for kids and people with kids.

***New pictures added*** Back on form with the pastries! :-) Changed from 3 star to 4. Used to be great, during pandemic…using unhomogenised milk and then they got lazy and began using co-op milk. For the prices and the organic misc en scene, they should get back on game. However, pastries are different to the usual ones at other coffee shops and really seem homemade - more bun like rather than fluffy pastry. I would recommend biscuit factory for the best coffee in reading BUT if you are local this is better than gardens and the collective.

This is best bread I have eaten. This place has stopped me making my own!! As a child I lived on the Med ( part of our old colonial past,) and the bread I ate there has stayed with me, and never bettered. But...Geo Cafe has brought me back to that wonderful sourdough that I remember from 60 years ago. 5 Stars for bread, but you need to be down to the shop before midday. They do provide an online booking but that is not always convenient. However, this place is a wonderful addition to our Caversham shops.
