The best restaurants in England

Had a quick lunch with my son. Went to Black Swan first but they were booked up until too late for us. Very good meal and service.

My girlfriend ordered me a Christmas burger it was disappointing, no rocket salad no cranberry and the pulled so called turkey was like a spread , it went in the bin The whole burger was like a 99p one from McDonald's : got to say all others ive had over the years has been nice

Christmas fayre....Nice atmosphere, table was ready at time booked , staff were friendly, Seated at the rear, room was cold as the door to the corridor was always open and closing for staff, starter was tasty but small, toast the size of a Pringle.. main was turkey, this was not carved meat but round pieces of meat like you get from a supermarket freezer roast Inc bloody veins,,half of 1 carrot ,1 pigs in blankets,2 roasted potatoes, seasonal veg was broccoli peas and courgette, cauliflower cheese was a joke 3 florets for 2 people.. dessert was once again tasty but small portions .. 2 bar drinks and 2 coffee's £90 + for 2 people... I didn't complain at the time as it was a special occasion, but we will not visit again .. the food was better 2 years ago with the previous owners.

Stayed here this weekend ,i couldnt recommend it enough ,immaculate,has everything you need ,lovely on site coffee bar and restaurant ,the staff all went that extra mile ,perfect

Walked in at 5.45 as we were booked for 6 and wanted our order immediately before everyone had a chance to arrive, was so impatient and then told us we had to be gone before 7.30 because our table was booked for 8 did not make us aware at booking. All crammed in, 2 staff doing there best and he wasn't pleasant with them at all. Ended up getting my own drinks and our tables too. Rushed all the way until bill time, it took 20minutes, we could have took our time eating. Food was okay, nothing special and had a bad stomach next day, everyone else was fine. What I do know is, myself and my colleagues will never set foot in this place again Second sitting may have a more chilled attitude but first sitting horrendous. Ps can I mention the manager really needs to treat his staff with respect, he shouted across the restaurant at them even though they were amazing 😠

Of 4 days in London, I had breakfast here 3 days. The attention and food is incredible. You can taste the classic English breakfast and other standard dishes with excellent quality and flavor. And above all the prices are very good and friendly. If you are looking for a typical place where local people frequent to have breakfast and eat well, this is your place. Fully satisfied.

Fabulous restaurant with lovely food and great staff. Sad to see it go.

Travelled here from Bristol to attend a Christmas event and were in need of a nice early dinner beforehand (3 adults 1 9yo child). After reading recent reviews we were set on this place and booked. It was a Sunday and it was packed which was a good sign. It is only small but boy does it deliver. Food was all cooked beautifully, full of flavour and presented lovely. We each had 2 courses and the total bill was under £80. We didn't realise there was a pizza and pasta special deal on where all normal menu dishes were £9, bargain! Will definitely go again if we are ever in the area again.

I went to the Christmas dinner,it was superb,great host's.Really friendly and so much food.Excellent time was had by all.very welcoming.

An excellent find in Brighton . Staff excellent and friendly .Superb food With great flavours and attention to authenticity. Tequila cocktails where superb , balance of flavours spot on . Well worth a visit .

Best Thai in Eastbourne, perhaps our favourite Thai restaurant full stop. We have been coming here for 10 years now (now with little ones in tow!) and have never had a bad experience! Lovely welcoming staff and great food, hope to be coming for the next ten years too!

What a great place to eat and drink. Very friendly owners and staff. Great service; they will even stop to talk to you. Excellent varied menu, wine list and range of beers. The real bonus is no television screen and only just audible background music playing. This was my go-to pub in the 80's when visiting from NZ. Having returned, it is now my local. It's survival has been enabled by good food with a more extensive dining area. Even so, it is still one of the best pubs to eat and drink in the area. Streets ahead of anything on offer in Penzance.
