Showed up 10 minutes before closing but were warmly welcomed! Good atmosphere for a small place - didn't feel crowded. We had a hot choc and a mocha both of which were fine, not the best but certainly not bad. Served in takeaway cups due to them closing up but didn't make us feel hurried, so we stayed for 5 minutes. Glad we visited especially as it was raining so a nice warm drink was just right!

I only had food here. The place itself was ok, a little dated and despite being a country pub didn’t have that vibe unfortunately. Nice enough for a meal - the staff were friendly and food was ok. I liked the menu at first glance which is why I chose this place to eat and there are some adventurous dishes which i applaud. Not many places in the uk have haggis for example. However, I chose the featherblade of beef which is a cut of meat from the leg which is usually slow cooked in one piece like a steak that melts. Normally served with veg and mash. What I was served looked like leftover roast beef off the Sunday roast, cooked down and compressed in a plastic bag to try and form some sort of shape. The veg were nicely cooked but the odd ball thing were the pickled onions scattered through; in the gravy, on the beef... Not terrible but not what I expected and certainly not what I ordered. I’d rather have been told the dish wasn’t available so I could have ordered something else. I understand ingredient logistics, cost saving etc but I’d have paid more for the correct dish so to me it’s knowing your audience. If they won’t pay more, take it off the menu. I’m a chef, I value good quality.

Great, authentic, traditional chippy. I never have high expectations of finding decent fish and chips in a tourist town as they are usually tourist traps. However, stumbled across the cafe upstairs at the Kingfisher, and it was a lovely place. Spotlessly clean, great service, crispy cod, lovely chips, and mushy peas all served hot and fresh with bread and butter...yum! Would visit again, thank you.

Review for The Bell Inn, Horndon on the Hill The Bell Inn in Horndon on the Hill is a true gem that consistently delivers on quality, atmosphere, and service. Having visited regularly over several years, I can confidently say this is one of the finest spots for good-quality, seasonal, fresh, and undeniably tasty food. The menu changes weekly, offering variety and showcasing the best of what’s in season. Whether you’re craving something hearty or light, you’ll always find something to delight your taste buds. The cozy log fire adds a warm and inviting touch, making it perfect for visits year-round. One unique feature I’ve always admired is the display of hot cross buns hanging from the ceiling, a tradition that dates back several years. It’s a quirky and charming detail that highlights the pub’s character. The management is outstanding—professional, attentive, and reliable in ensuring every guest has a well-rounded experience. Whether you’re planning a celebratory party, a romantic dinner, or simply dropping in for a quick pub lunch, The Bell Inn is a fantastic choice. Opening Times: • Monday to Saturday: 12:00 PM – 11:00 PM • Sunday: 12:00 PM – 10:30 PM The Bell Inn also features ample seating indoors and outdoors, making it ideal for any occasion. Parking is available nearby, and its picturesque village location adds to the charm. Highly recommended for anyone seeking great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. This is a place that truly understands the art of hospitality!

Booked a table for four for a Christmas dining with my elderly parents who live in waddington well in advance to ensure a reservation at Christmas, thinking we would be in one of the two dining areas away from the bar area , on arrival was shown to a table in the bar area which wasn’t set up for dining and extremely busy with customers , also there was dogs , if I had booked the table last minute then I would understand being sat in a very busy bar area , Felt as though we were last minute walk ins , I must say if it had stated we would be sat in the bar area with dogs I would not have booked the waddi arms , not that I have anything against dogs , One of my parents is very sensitive about them .

I’ve been to Per Tuti in St Albans on a number of occasions, it has always been a favourite of mine. The food is good. However on this occasion (New Year’s Eve) we left very disappointed with the service. Upon arrival, we were left awkwardly waiting for someone to speak to us whilst a number of staff walked past and ignored us. We had to flag someone down to be greeted/seated. Then, we were seated at a table with food menu only (missing cutlery for one person and no drinks menu). If you you didn’t flag down the staff then you didn’t get to order etc. When I managed to flag someone down (to get a knife to eat food, ask for drinks menu) it felt like you were a complete hassle to the waiters. They didn’t let me finish my sentence when asking for something. Having worked as a waitress and bartender for years I know what it is like during busy times. However, politeness and professionalism should always remain even during these busy times. The food was lovely as always but I don’t think we will be back soon.

Cornish Ginger Beer is highly recommended, Seafood sharer's variety of seafoods are tasty, and the bread that comes with it is also delicious. Fish & Chip portion is big and My daughters ordered two children's meals, fried chicken and Margherita, and they all loved it!

Went for a lunchtime meal and had a pleasant time. The service was brilliant and also checked to ensure that all was okay. Had steak and ale pie with vegetables and new potatoes which was lovely as usual only option is chips or fries, was so nice to have vegetables! Then dessert was a brandy Alexander panna cotta..never heard of but was light and perfect to end the meal. Sadly no brandy could be tasted but was lovely just the same. Pub was quiet when we entered at 12.30pm but became quite busy by 2pm. Advice book in advance or attend early.

After reading reviews was apprehensive about coming here. I was very pleasantly surprised. The food is exceptional and the service was perfect. Table of 10 and all our food came out same time piping hot and very tasty. Little extras at end with ice cream and baileys topped it off. Could not fault it thank you will be back
