Little Lobo in Newcastle upon Tyne

Mi pareja y yo visitamos el pequeño vestíbulo Tynemouth el fin de semana. Es un restaurante muy pequeño con un ambiente genial. La comida era perfecta no se puede culpar en absoluto, a un precio muy razonable y sabía increíble. Mi pareja tomó una margarita de la semana que era un sabor de manzana y kiwi que era encantador y yo tenía una botella de cerveza para acompañar la comida. El servicio era fantástico, con pedidos tomados muy rápido y chequeos regulares para ver si queríamos más bebidas. No puedo recomendar este lugar lo suficiente! La factura viene con un cargo de servicio automáticamente adjunto que me fue señalado por nuestro servidor como él entregó la factura y como yo pagué, que estaba más que feliz de pagar! Recomendaría encarecidamente este lugar a cualquiera que disfrute de la comida mexicana, no encontrará nada mejor en Newcastle

Comida encantadora, servicio promedio. No hay oferta de postre o bebidas adicionales. Habríamos tomado más bebidas, pero no hay servicio después de la comida. Agregar un cargo por servicio es incorrecto. Un miembro del personal me dijo que es una práctica estándar. Ehh no, no está en ningún lugar de Whitley Bay. Habría dejado felizmente una propina. Sin embargo no dejó nada ya que no se le dirá cuánta propina requería. El servicio promedio no más de lo que esperaba. Lo siento, pero es un no no para mí. Habría dado más propina pero quiero que sea mi elección. Necesita anunciar esto en su menú, no solo agregarlo automáticamente a la factura.

¡Increíble comida mexicana y cócteles de margarita! Visité la sucursal de Whitley Bay, gran servicio, camarero era muy bueno con los alérgenos, que es una bocanada de aire fresco - sin duda volveré!

Se topó con este lugar. De regreso al apartamento. . Comedor pequeño pero perfectamente formado. . La comida es absolutamente deliciosa, . vino rápidamente con un servicio estupendo. A un precio tan razonable... Muy recomendable

Great place to visit for Mexican food, excellent choice of tasty food. We didn't try the tortas but they looked amazing, definitely coming back.

The place is quite small hence the name so I'd book a table if you're planning on eating here. The place had a couple of people on arrival one table letting their child run across the seating that runs along the back, you're not in the house now mate have some respect and look after your kid's. Thankfully when we sat down they didn't hang around. Place soon filled up towards 7pm what was quiet soon turned into a shouting match between two tables either side of us to the point I couldn't hear my partner speak can people not have a normal conversation anymore without shouting? Ordered 1x starter to share, 2 burritos and two drinks for about £55 expensive compared to other better places, burritos were huge but didn't have much flavor nor did the starter it was all a bit bland. Staff were lovely prompt and friendly though.

I've been meaning to try this place for a while! It was lush, we got the Steak Tortas and wow! Bread was soft and yet crisp, steak was perfectly cooked and the salsa Verde really made it come alive! Would highly recommend!!

Utterly shambolic service and food from this establishment. I came in as a walk in on the afternoonon 1st March, clearly heavily pregnant with my 4 year old daughter. We were advised from the start that there were no tables inside and that we'd have to sit outside, however, the male member of staff did say he'd let us know as soon as a table opened up. Fair enough. As it was freezing, and I was evidently pregnant and had a small child with me, we did ask if we could wait inside at the apparently two "booked out tables " until our food was ready, however we were advised we could not wait inside Fine, so we waited outside. There were four of us in total. So we sat outside in the freezing cold with barely working heaters (after being told they were strong enough to keep is warm) and watched as three tables opened up and no one came in for the "booked out tables" over the course of about 45 minutes. We realised at that point that the staff probably just couldn't be bothered to clean the tables before their later booking. This combined with the staffs can't be bothered to deal with new customer attitude reinforced our logic. The bill for three burritos, three soft drinks and a small portion of nachos came to a whopping £55, this was our fault as we probably should have skipped the measley nachos and over priced gauc which I could have made better at home. I ordered the shrimp burrito, and sadly after I consumed it I felt severely nauseous all day, I'm actually atill nauseous as i write this out. As I was eating it, I do member thinking the shrimp texture seemed abit undercooked but at thay point I couldn't feel my face from the cold and my 6 months pregnancy hunger took over. All in all, I would not recommend anyone to eat here, go up the street to Mascalzone or even better, visit the choppy across the road to save yourself paying for potential food poisoning.

Visitado como un grupo de tres. La comida era realmente encantador, muy agradable. Tristemente no volvería debido al mal servicio recibido. A pesar de que esta sucursal de Whitley Bay es muy pequeña en tamaño y estar sentado frente a la barra, no nos preguntaron si nos gustaría más bebidas cuando los vasos estaban vacíos, no hubo ninguna comprobación para ver si todo estaba bien con nuestra comida, etc. Pre pedido, nuestro servidor tenía un desconocimiento del menú y cuando dijo que averiguaría más información, no regresó. Tuvimos que preguntar de nuevo más tarde y el artículo en cuestión ni siquiera había estado disponible en todo el día. Lugar muy bien decorado, un poco frío por las ventanas pero un buen ambiente, buena comida pero por debajo de la media de servicio. Desearía haber notado el cargo por servicio antes de pagar la factura, ya que habría pedido que esto se eliminara.

A real must , the food was amazing, the staff so lovely and the service perfect.A lovely evening out after a very tramatic Uber journey !!

Nice little place. We booked a table for 4 we were waiting on a member of our party for some time. With pressure from staff to order our food for the next table coming in. They didn't actually turn up so the pressure to eat and leave quickly was there for no reason. We ordered a lot of drinks and food wanting a calm evening with friends catching up and eating.

Friendly and welcoming staff and the food is excellent. The best and most authentic place of its type that I’ve ate from in the area. Recommend.

Had the breakfast menu veggie tacos. Very yummy especially the hash browns. Good for if you want something a bit different to the usual breakfast/brunch places. Food was cooked well and fresh.

Lovely mexican restaurant. We had loaded nachos, lots of tacos and an asada. All delicious! The margaritas are fantastic too. Service team were friendly.

Lovely place! With the burritos you get corn chips with a stunning dip. They’re loaded full of flavour so it makes every bite enjoyable. Prices are fair, not cheap and not expensive but they’re priced just right for what they are. The wait times vary on how busy they are, but when it’s been a while they’re sincere about the delay :) The staff and team are so lovely and go above and beyond for their customers. As desert we got the ice cream taco to share and it was fantastic! Full of flavour and has the quality to back it up. would massively recommend to anyone looking for something different to your usual tea!

Had a hearty shrimp burrito. It was tasty but not special. Nachos Surely a key thing in a supposedly Mexican place was the worst. Couldn't eat them. Hot sauce was hot but not tasty. Fries were like poor frozen chips frankly. Cannot recommend and wonder how it got such high ratings which drew me.

Excellent little new find! Food was brilliant, tasty and stands out from the Mexican places we’ve eaten at. Special thanks to the young lady who serves us who provided a great recommendation on both dishes. Service was very friendly. Tacos trio and the steak piece sandwich was amazing! You don’t pay the ends of the earth for quality food here. We will look forward to coming back! From the bubble glass lovers!

Arrived without booking a table (didn't know we had to) and the staff were just incredible. They found us a table and proceeded to bring out plate after plate of incredible food and awesome portions and suck a welcoming atmosphere. I'd highly recommend dining here, but save the staff the trouble and book a table first.

Visited based on very good reviews by other people...it was nice but it didn't quite live up to expectations. Food portions were small for the price. I had the vegetarian camote burrito which was tasty but the feta cheese delivered a more pungent goat cheese like flavour than I was expecting. Personally, I feel like halloumi would complement the other flavours better, but that's just opinion. For what has the feel of a street food place with a chilled atmosphere the 10% service charge automatically added to the bill was irritating. I asked for it to be removed but it's awkward nonetheless.

Lovely food, great atmosphere and friendly staff and always got a table we we dropped in for a meal. However had two lots of issues when we tried to book, first time we arrived slightly early and although there was seating available , they asked us to wait outside (it was pretty cold as well) as our seats weren’t ready. We waited 15 mins and then were giving the seats that were free 🤷🏻‍♀️ Second time, we had booked online and when I rang to on the day to confirm numbers, I was told the online booking didn’t work and we couldn’t get a table! Was offered the option of going all the way over to Whitley Bay, which we declined as friends travelling over from Durham area and too far. We then decided on takeaway as it was a Friday and everywhere was busy and drove passed the place to see it wasn’t even full!! Haven’t been back

Had a take out from little lobo last weekend via ubereats/deliveroo. Food was very tasty but the steak tacos which is what I was really looking forward to the most were disappointing. The flavour was there but the tacos fell apart in my hands and were very wet. More than happy to give it the benefit of the doubt as everything else was fantastic.Next time will eat in and im sure I can update this to a 5 star review :)

It's a great place! Even if you are outside, there are heaters up top. The food is great! Out of the group, we liked the shrimp tacos and the asada steak quesadilla (pictured but eaten halfway it comes with 4) There is street parking, but it's very limited.

Absolutely incredible authentic Mexican food, had asada burrito and frozen margarita. This place absolutely destroys Chucho's in Byker.

Bit pretentious but the lovely food makes up for it. Try it, but "Nee Trainors Allowed" Just a joke. Try it.

Lovely and cozy place to grab a taco 🌮. Yet the tortillas were quite crumbly and all the stuffing was falling off the plate. (Either not properly stored and gone dry, overcooked or not enough fat added to them). And no napkins or cutlery were on the table. The margarita was nice. Classically frozen.

6 of us out for family birthday and everybody happy. Very tasty food, good service and good value for money.

A sizeable service charge is added to every order. This was in spite of poor service - they didn't seat us until 15 minutes after our arrival, yet were very keen to remind us that they would need our table back in 10 minutes near the end of our meal. Everything we ordered came with handfuls of diced red onion - a very overpowering and cheap filler. There are plenty of alternative great local restaurants who offer great service, great food, and don't charge this.

I haven’t been to many Mexican restaurants here, but this one leaves me with a good impression. They have friendly staff, nice interior design, clean tables and seats, and high-quality food. I have been to Mexico and I would say their tacos comparably isn’t too bad. The beef tacos could be cut into smaller dives, but the pork tacos taste so good. The churros are a bit too crispy but still good. Highly recommend it and will come back.

Staff were really friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. For 2 people we had tacos as well as chips and guacamole to start, then we had a burrito special and a chicken quesadilla. All the food was lush and margaritas were perfect

One of the tastiest mexican restaurants I've ever been too, I loved the flavours of the tacos, highly recommend trying a few different tacos in one sitting, they're fresh and light and well balanced with flavours!

I would recommend this place to anyone, really good food. I'm from Manchester and we don't have anything nearly as good as this place.

Really nice burritos and chips. Jarritos Guava soda the best pop a've ever had by a mile! Staff really friendly and helpful, nice decor too. Woulda given food 5 stars if burritos had a bit more salad and salsa, but was still better than lots of other Mexican places. Dogs allowed in an' all. Yay! 🙂

went in on Saturday, absolutely amazing service, both girls (red head and brunette bob) were lovely and super attentive. I have dietary requirements and they took a moment to go through the menu and help me out. food was also gorgeous. can’t wait to return! slay

Having lived in Texas and Los Angeles for nearly 20 years, I've had good Tex-Mex, and my wife and I can say this is spot-on in taste and authenticity. Far better than most places we've been to across Europe and even South America. And the staff are, like so many servers in the North, extraordinarily friendly and accommodating. A lovely experience.

Really nice food only downside was only frozen margaritas, not the regular cocktail.

Unbelievably good Mexican food full of flavour and a fantastic twist on the reliable churros dessert. Every bit as good as their main restaurant in Shields. Just let down by ludicrously high London prices in Sandyford!

The inside looks really cool and is really well done, small but works well. The food was...fine. We love Mexican food but both thought the food here was average in flavour profile, and even the hottest salsa was not spicy. Staff were friendly and nice although the order we got was wrong. Overall, it's fine but we felt the food was average and we wouldn't go back again.

Newcastle generally doesn't have great Mexican food. This place greatly improves the situation. The food is good, served fast, and staff are helpful. It's more cafe like, rather than a formal restaurant, but well worth the visit...

Brilliant and tasty Mexican food in cool neighbourhood location. We found our meal really flavoursome and the portion size generous. Good value and trendy interior.

My expectations were high based on previous reviews, but I ordered the Carne Asada which is salad with beef strips and was disappointed. The dish had an overpowering amount of coriander and vinaigrette, making it impossible to taste the steak and ruining the dish. When the waiter asked how everything was, I expressed my dissatisfaction, and he apologised sincerely and offered to remove the service charge. However, I felt that his service was exceptional in every way and did not want him to suffer in terms of tips, especially since the kitchen was at fault. So I asked him to adjust the bill accordingly. I plan to give Little Lobo another chance and hope that the owner takes this feedback into account.

Cute little place which serves nice food, at a reasonable price. Although there’s a few places to sit it’s often best to book.

I really could not recommend this place highly enough!! The tacos here are so fresh and tasty, they're probably one of the best Mexican food places in the north east (if not the UK). Fairly small inside so may be a good idea to book ahead on the weekend if you want to get a seat!

It's one of the best places to eat in Newcastle. Their lunch deal is at a fantastic price. My go-to place to recommend for people, especially because there are mixture of spicy and non spicy. So everyone can enjoy it, can't wait to go back.
