Good delicious food and clean restaurant and good gluten free shop. Praying room and toilets are good

We tried their breakfast- halwa poori, paratha and karak chai. It was soo fresh and delicious. The pooris were soo fluffy and light. Made with wheat flour. The paratha was proper with layers and so crispy. The chai was very aromatic and karak. The cup size was also big 🤤 This restaurant is a hidden gem in newcastle. I have never tried such good desi nashta in uk. The best part is they open at 12pm so if you like to wake up late but want a desi breakfast.. definitely visit 🤤

So me and my family went to this place because I wanted a cake. We got there and I saw the Ferrero rocher cake and I got it. My sister also got a brownie which the lady asked if she wanted it warm or cold, to which my sister responded “warm”. She apparently took that as both of the foods to be heated up so when I got in the car to eat my cake I picked it up and it was dripping so I put it back down. Then I opened it up to get a look and it was melted! I tried to save the rocher but most of it was gone and it was soggy. Now I have to dribble the icing on it to not eat it dry

POOR QUALITY FOOD TERRIBLE UN-FRIENDLY SERVICE UPSTAIRS THE TOILETS ARE TIRED AND DIRTY PLACE WAS EMPTY ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND THE GIRL WAS VERY UN PROFESSIONAL IN HER APPROACH - ANSWERED WITH ONE WORD ANSWERS AND NOT VERY HOSPITABLE AT ALL CHICKEN BIRYANI WAS PLAIN NOT WITH ANY SPICE OR REAL FLAVOUR CHICKEN PARMO WAS HARD AND NO TASTE AT ALL PRESENTATION WAS POOR I HAD PREVIOUSLY VISITED THIS PLACE MANY TIMES WHEN IN NEWCASTLE AND WAS CALLED SOMETHING ELSE AND MENU AND ATMOSPHERE WAS MUCH MUCH BETTER, GUYS YOU NEED TO REALLY IMPROVE YOUR WORK ETHIC AND HOW YOU GREET CUSTOMERS AND SPEND SOME MONEY ON DECOR AND FRESHEN THE PLACE UP, FOOD WAS A 5/10 AND THATS BEING GENEROUS WONT GO HERE AGAIN IM SORRY

Decent scran but honest to God the slowest service you will ever receive, I've never seen a restaurant only have 3 tables in and still take 30 mins to serve food

Food was great. But we were a family of 8 and they squashed us in a small booth when nearly the whole restaurant was empty. Barely had any space for all the plates etc on table, we had to put things on top of eachother to make space. We asked to be moved and the waitress was hesitant and then said “ok u can go to that table” but didn’t help us move and gave us the impression she didn’t want us to move so we stayed where we were.

Avoid at any cost. Very bad, slow service and ambiance. Staff are uninterested and discourteous. Also heard chefs fighting. Waited 45 minutes - didn’t get served. People who came after us got served before us. Left without getting served. AVOID

Poor quality food, very disappointed.

Went with my daughter won't go back. Service was slow as only 1 waitress on food was OK. Floor was dirty next to table with black hairs paint was cracking going upto toilets with big cracks up the wall.

Samosa chaat served in a good new way. Thanks

The meat was not cooked very well, mix grill was pink & did not get enough heat. Standards we not so good.

This place is great for everyone. The kind staff asked for our drinks order and came back within a couple of minutes and gave us the tastiest mango lassi ever. The pizzas were very cheesy. The chips were also chunky which is quite rare nowadays in Newcastle. The staff always made sure we were happy and it was easy to ask for assistance. Thank you Khyber Cafe

Great food as always, I order from here regularly although shepherds pie could do with some veggies with the mince and was a bit on the oily side. And I ordered a lotus cheesecake but I got a cake instead. I don’t mind the cake but would’ve preferred the cheesecake. Thanks

Good location parking was available right outside and wheelchair accessible. Food was delicious but only had one waitress so slowed everything down.

Rate the cookie dough, would recommend 😋

The chicken mozzarella was very burnt the children did not enjoy it at all

Rang tonight for a delivery the woman who answered phone had an attitude saying they no longer deal with food hub and just eat were on hold this is our first and last time trying to place an order. . You don’t speak to paying customers with an attitude. Please look at the staff you have answering your phones. !!!

Only 2 other families there. Restaraunt was freezing, condensation dripping off the windows- few heaters near windows where useless. Biryani was lukewarm and as place was so cold food got cold very quickly. Had mixed grill- lamb chops where awful tasted burnt and fleshy… only thing nice was naan bread and seekh kebabs where ok. Got desert to takeaway -school pudding- it was stale … 3rd time i have got desert from them and it has been stale … give up now wont be getting desert from there again!!!

Excellent place to have dinner/lunch/or just snacks. Visiting Newcastle from USA, one of the best Halal food places to have your meal. Biryani, Cicken Tikka Pizza, and Khyber Karhai.

Extremely cold in the restaurant. None of my family could take our coats off and be comfortable. Food took forever. Staff were very unorganised.

Called for the first time since takeover. Wish I hadn't. Not a soul in the place. Menu stated gluten free options available. Waitress didn't know what I was talking about. Offered the cheesecake or the brownies. Was told both were made with wheat. I settled for the banana split. Omg. 3 scoops of banana ice cream with sliced banana with some toffee sauce drizzled and a couple of squirts of aerosol cream. Definitely think I'll not bother ever again. Much better when Fazals.

Discusting behaviour we went fór dinner last night Rude servise took straw out of our hand Darinks štartér to clean the table after us kedy the table tilted my husband couldnt get out couldnt wait till we finished food kept looking and waiting inpacantly our taxi driver event ask us how was it he said the servise is the worst IT Has ever Been and ješ never going back samé hore fór us

Great food. Great service. Very attentive. Little bit expensive considering the quality. Strange pricing for the deserts. Much more expensive than the local desert cafes.

The worst Khyber chicken karahi I have tasted they add extra Salt & when I told the waitress she just looked & walked away & check your bill before you pay they added 2 cokes for £7 that I didn’t order

Ignore all the negative reviews go and check it out yourself. Much better than as it was a year ago.

I ordered chilli chicken pasta it was fantastic very spicy and so fresh ! I also ordered lemon and chilli prawns they were cooked perfect and yet again flavour was amazing , my first time ordering and I will deffo be back … thanks for a great meal

Under new management since the last time we visited I think. They do seem to specialise in cake but I can recommend the biryani. Very good indeed. Under new management again I think. The food is utterly gorgeous (see the vegetarian comments). We also had lamb madras and chicken jalfrezi, both of which were fantastic. Service was excellent too. It was a little cold in the restaurant but the food more than makes up for that. Highly recommend trying the Khyber Cafe!

This place is a culinary disaster compared to how it was a year lago! Not only have they doubled the menu prices and stopped using seasoning apparently - I can't believe they served me an overcooked sea bass drowned in mayonnaise. It was like eating rubber drenched in goo. To make matters worse, it was freezing cold inside, and the dim lighting just added to the misery. The whole experience was a nightmare. Save your taste buds and money £££££ – avoid this place at all costs!

Service is absolutely terrible ask for anything there’s no reply at all , no good vibe given off one of the waiters foods decent , service is horrendous would not recommend !!!

We've been there numerous times before, and today we went around 5:30 pm. We ordered some starters: Sheek kebabs (10/10, our favorite), some cheesy keema samosas (7/10). For the main meal, we had 2 Lamb Biryani (9/10), Lamb Jalfrezi (10/10), Garlic Keema Nan (10/10), and Boiled Rice. The food came on time, and we got our main meal straight after the starters. The food was amazing today; I'm not sure if we were hungry or if the food just tasted exceptionally good. We've never given such a high score to any food outlet before and the bill was reasonable, so we're definitely coming back again."

We used to come here often and we used to enjoy it but recently it doesn’t feel right. Feels like the quality of the food has gone down, the service is very friendly and polite but a bit slow at times. Also it is slightly overpriced for what they offer

Very very slow was told to come 20mins after ordering a takeaway took 55mins!! The place has gone downhill!

Not sure what went wrong here... only the Punjabi Chicken Karai was nice. Garlic Keema naan... the keema was bland and appeared uncooked. The chips weren't cooked for long enough and almost soggy. But the worst item was the Chicken Pakoras - basically small strips of chicken fried with spice marinate... these are not pakoras!! And charged £6 for them as a starter... so over £1.00 a pakora!!

The lady working here is always so lovely and works really hard. The food is delicious and I would definitely recommend coming here to eat.

Went 2 time but food and shakes with no flavours Bharmingham khayber and KPK khayber are awesome but this khayber just upset as Food should be with flavours not just masalas

The best chicken tikka I’ve ever had! The pilau rice was was very flavoursome- lots of spices and very authentic.

Very slow service only one member of staff taking orders, serving food/drinks and seeing to desserts and other requests…. would start serving someone else whilst dealing with your request. Good choice of food on menu but desi stuff we ordered wasn’t very tasty. Pizza was ok. Interior is nice to sit with family and ice cream selection is good.

Enjoyed our coffee and cake. Will be back again to sample the menu.

Waiters were very friendly, just call them over and they're happy to help. I've been here a few times and the food has always been delicious. Lamb chops, vindaloo, nan bread, chicken mozzarella starter are what keep me going back.

We held a small party here last week, the owner himself and his staff worked hard to make sure everything was done as requested. Food was freshly made and served for 25 people at the same time. Fantastic place, food & staff.

Didn’t enjoy the rogan josh at all. Tasted far to salty. For the price it just wasn’t with it. Sorry!

Went here with my partner and wow we will be back. The food came red hot, fresh and a good sized portion, the meat was cooked perfectly and the pizza was very tasty and fresh. Deffo be returning to try the desserts soon. Staff very accommodating and friendly too. Price is very decent for the portion size.

Overall friendly service and delivered my order on time. Although the savoury dishes were generous portions, hot and tasted ok, the desserts on the other hand tasted odd (bleachy and stale). Disappointed for this reason. that the desserts unfortunately were not good. Wish I could get a refund for them.

The food was flavourless and over priced. Presentation was decent. Had cornflake tart pudding for dessert, sorry but it tasted old and not fresh. Custard was nice. Just being honest. Improvement definitely needed.

Karahi was lovely. Tastes much better than anyother karahis in Newcastle. Mixed Grill I am not impressed. Kebabs are ok but rest of items in the grill were nothing like the karahi. I would probably try karahi items only next time though.

My first visit to khyber cafe in newcastle food was outstanding ordered a punjabi karahi was mouth watering we also ordered a mix grill for 2 was amazing service was on point staff was very friendly they have a huge menu to select from including desserts will defoes recommend khyber cafe well done guys.

Food was ok but the quantity is not good for the value. It's a bit expensive halwa puri channa breakfast.

Really good place to eat, decor was really nice. Decent on price and food was very tasty and authentic. Will defo pop in again next time we in Newcastle.

Delicious Nutella waffle! I would highly recommend using butter paper underneath the waffle to preserve the chocolate from being absorbed as seen in the pics. Also, i recommend adding student discount.

Good quality and fresh. I had the Greek salad for starters, these were fresh ingredients, no half wilted lettuce in sight, despite the late hour as well, and the salad dressing was so good I was dipping chips in it too. The chips that came with the Veggie burger I got for my daughter have a home-made quality in the good way, not overly soggy with grease, but look like potentially oven-baked or airfried, and the burger bun also has that home-made or bakery quality about it too. Spinach and paneer is my go-to Indian dish, and I am a little picky about the quality of it because some make this dish very greasy or with little flavour, and this is the best one I have had in years. I NEVER leave reviews on JE, but I was so impressed with what I received, and I am not easily impressed. I just got the desserts out and had a quick taste, we got the chocolate fudge cake and made our own sundae, generous portions and high quality. The sundae tub is about the size of a Ben and Jerry tub, and I can taste that there were real strawberries and banans used to make those ice-cream flavours. I will most certainly be ordering from here again! Keep it up 👏

Initially better, but visited with DS today for breakfast, DS had halwa poori. The channa and halwa appeared reheated. DS has neen having tummy cramps , diarrhoea and vomiting since. Will never return at least for bfast.

I live in America but I’ve contemplated getting on an airplane just to go and eat here again. I tried their chicken Diane about 5 years ago and I still think of it often!

Possibly the worst food place in ncl, dined it for birthday party of 8 people which was booked in advance. However two people had to sit without eating due to burgers was uncooked and meat was fully red once arrived. Had to place another order which came after 40mins while everyone was eating. Mixed grilled for 2 was ordered which came out horribly wrong, no flavour, bland and very dry. Extremely slow service and had to wait over hour and 30mins for first order. Highly do not recommend this place at all. Don’t waste your money!
