Stopped for a quick coffee. Didn't have anything to eat myself but did see some amazing plates on the tables I passed. Looked pretty awesome. Will definitely go back to sample something

Excellent cafe with restaurant quality food with a middle eastern twist. We are boaters and move around all over the country and this is one place we return to again and again. We’ve been for breakfast, lunch and dinner and have recommended it to friends, family and strangers! At last visit we enjoyed their Shawarma Cauliflower with Tahini dressing and Okra and Tomato stew. Both were absolutely delicious. They have several vegan options and this is one of the reasons we return. We will be back.

A very quiet pub when we went in, real ales were great and kept well. I did find out this pub is up for sale so maybe that is why the atmosphere was a bit lacklustre.

Sapphire our waitress was amazing, friendly fun and couldn’t do enough for us. Food was excellent the only thing you can do to improve is serve custard with the excellent crumble!

Every time I go to York, I always come to this cafe. Everyone who works there are really friendly, and they also have a dog menu ! I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone who is visiting or lives in York.

Pizzas are lovely, but ordered online & said 25 minutes for collection, arrived once told it was ready for collection and waited 10 minutes after already telling the woman behind the bar I was here to collect food. Eventually asked what I had ordered and had to name the pizzas and was told they had got stuck to the pan and had to re order and was asked to pay, had to tell the woman I had already paid. Waited 15 minutes for new pizza

The food is very low quality and did not justify the price. Agreeably, it wasn’t hugely expensive, but the food was awful. The worst food I’ve had in a long time. The staff were slow and the music very loud. It’s just not a nice experience if you enjoy “good” food. The waitress didn’t ask how I found the food and it was so loud and slow that I felt it best to just leave. Steak was also cooked poorly and lacked flavour. I don’t believe it was rib eye either. Local pizza establishments do a far better pizza and the pasta was overly creamed and over cooked. Don’t come here if you have any standards for good food.

Friendly helpful service, great cards and other nice gifts of better quality than the other gift shop. Would shop here again the next time I visit Combe Martin

One big thank you to you all for looking after us when we visited you. It's such a friendly place. The Black Sheep was one of the best I have tasted. Our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Our evening meal was excellent and so tasty. It's a shame we couldn't stay longer.

Our second visit for an anniversary meal. Absolutely wonderful food, lovely restaurant and friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Great service and top quality food.

What a delightful discovery. A wonderful stopping point if/when touring the borders. We we’re meeting up with family and had a one night stay. Just wished we could have had extended it. Very comfortable room with a modern en-suite. Our family meal in the restaurant was loved by all. Excellent menu for both adults and kids. An extensive menu which was backed up by quality food and presentation. Cosy bar offering cask ales, wines and spirits to suit all. We had without doubt the best breakfast served in any establishment in the country. Again an extensive menu which could give you a different breakfast plate for at least a week. Our hosts were so warm and friendly and run a very well organised establishment. Highly recommend The Allanton Inn. We will certainly return for a much longer stay soon.

This bar was a real ale and cider outlet offering a good range of both. Sadly, the outlet is now closed.
