The best restaurants in United Kingdom

Avoid if you can. Placed an order online on Sunday evening, Google page & their website says it's open. When I go to collect the order, the doors are shut and the guys have said "the business is closed, being reopened in a month under new management". They need to turn off their online ordering if they're not taking orders!

We have eaten here many times and the food has always been 10/10 4 of us went last night starters were lovely but when mains came lamb saag and lamb rogan josh rice naan bread etc there was meat and no flavour or sauce!!!!! I wonder if it has changed hands?? Would not recommend at all

Great little place this , food was delicious , so fresh we had a few sharing dishes and all were spot on , the staff were great too Very reasonable a must visit when in the area

I had my first meal here today, I will be back that's for sure. Great atmosphere, service was fab! Food is so nice. I enjoyed every piece of it. Also their coffee was so tasty I had 2 and they catered for my milk allergies and oat milk coffee it was. Such nice staff polite and helpful. Thanks City bar, see you again soon 😀

Having heard good things about The Old Crown, been meaning to try for a while, so today lunch with a couple of friends on a beautiful sunny day was a perfect opportunity. Staff friendly and we sat outside in the sun. What was a little strange was being asked to pay for food and drink when ordering, no tabs. So each time we ordered more food and drinks we had to pay. Can only guess they have had problems with "runners" but Girton is a lovely small village on the edge of Cambridge, can't remember every being asked before. Aside from that the food was as good as anticipated, Nepalese is my new favourite. What is really nice is being asked for how spicy you wanted it, for each of our choices. The only slight disappointment was that the starter I really wanted to try, Choila, wasn't available although being on the menu on the website and printed copies in the restaurant. The owner came around and asked how our meal was (nice touch), so had the chance to ask. Apparently was because it had been so rarely ordered. All in all was excellent and will certainly be returning soon. Highly recommended.

You can tell that a lot of effort and thought went into this place, with a great decor and atmosphere. All staff were unfailingly friendly and welcoming, answering questions and recommending options. Bury has a few nice cafe options, but I would say that this is the current best for food quality and menu twists that set it apart. The burgers offered options not seen elsewhere around here and were very well executed. Well worth a visit, plus they have lots of events to visit.

Dried out , overcooked rubbish. Served meat to my veggie companion which he accidentally ate as they covered it in gravy. I emailed a complaint and the manager asked me to describe the serving staff member so they could sack them. What the actual heck?! So unprofessional. Won't eat here again.

Slightly overpriced breakfast no filtered coffee included in the set meal...which in other cafe restaurants comes as included..Or spend 3.50 extra which would make the breakfast expensive ..standard coffee or tea with the set

Totally great, under new management. I live across the street and come here multiple times a week. Love the day service for coffee and sandwiches; I'll sit and work on my computer. I've also come for the evening wine and lite bite service - lots of great options :)

Went in just for takeaway drinks, staff not very pleasant didn't even acknowledge me stood at bar and made me think they didn't deserve my business. Doesn't take much to smile and be thankful to customers.

Came to today to celebrate our friend’s birthday as a table of 6 and the service was exceptional! First class wine selections, service and the quality of the food was simply divine! A local gem for Harlow and we will be back for sure! Thank you so much!
