Never had Nepalese before and wasn’t disappointed. The service and food were both excellent. The Rara King Prawn was gorgeous. Will visit again.

I have passed this place so many times and never been in, finally I made it and I wasn't disappointed. The atmosphere, food and service were great. Staff were very friendly and accomodating for those in our party with dietary needs. The price was very reasonable too for the quality of food, I definitely be back again to try something different.

Sadly really disappointing Nice staff...very helpful 2 of us ordered crispy squid that came uncooked and soggy. The 2 nd batch were the same so we changed to Mushrooms The server told us they buy the squid in and microwave them. Not what we wanted to hear sadly. The goat curry came with hardly any meat in , just bones. My lamb for £14 had 5 small pieces in it. The general heat as in spice heat was not there at all despite being asked how we wanted our dishes. Generally disappointing The toilets were really grubby with overflowing bins and dirty sinks

What a wonderful little find! We were looking for a good English pub for a stop off lunch and come across The Old Crown! We were welcomed by the super nice staff in a very clean friendly pub/restaurant. 10 out of 10 on the food, everything was cooked perfect and excellent quality. I would definitely recommend a visit!

Best wishes to the new owners who worked so hard last night at the reopening. The pub was full of people enjoying the vibe, and the singer was terrific. Gorgeous food tasters and a great atmosphere. We will be back.

We came in on saturday evening for a dinner with friends and the food was superb!! notably the beef bourguignon was particularly delicious. The staff were really attentive and helpful, we can’t wait to follow them to the plough !😍

Regularly visit the Crown for dinner and cocktails with friends. Our recent visit was as good as ever and we had Excellent service from Lara, always very friendly. Menu choice is great, never disappoints.

Popped in on a Saturday lunch time on the off chance that they had a table. All staff were really pleasant and we were seated straight away. Lara looked after us and gave us excellent service but was not ‘in our face’ giving us time to enjoy our meal without any pressure. We both had the lamb which was beautiful and tender. Will be back and thank you Lara for looking after us so well without being too much.

Food is always really nice when ever we go. Really good gluten free options. Our waitress Jessica was very helpful with dietary requirements and super efficient. I would definitely recommend the old crown.

We celebrated our nans 80th birthday at the old crown. The table was set out so beautifully, with little decorations! The service was 10/10 as always with a warm welcome and the food was incredible. The Sunday lunch was great, unfortunately the restaurant hasn't been set up very well, I was constantly having to move to let the waitress serv another table, the service was poor and not worth the £10 that was added to the bill.

Disabled parking OK. Toilets clean. Good menu. I had charcuterie mix to start, followed up by a roast sirloin with all the trimmings . Good draught beer.

The service was good and the food generally OK although a simple salad that is adorned with stale chewy parmesan crisps and what appeared to be bought in croutons (so simple to make and store) is poor. HOWEVER our experience was spoiled by repeated yapping dogs and the large number of noisy and unruly children that overwhelmed. Viewing a dog urinating in the garden may be tolerable but to see a child doing so with the assistance of parent is less so. Parents seemed generally unconcerned at the consequences their children and dogs inescapably have on others. Management seemed ambivalent, indeed children were actively encouraged. Whilst this may be regarded of commercial benefit, at what cost to the loss of more profitable others who are then deterred.

Lovely lunch with a friend on Friday lunch time. Staff were helpful, moving us into the shade on request. Main course was lovely; mussels and chips, which they fried separately for me to ensure they are gluten free., very impressive. Only minor issue was both of us found the meringue dry, tho sauce was delicious.

Given other excellent reviews we were rather disappointed with our Friday lunchtime visit. Service was rather indifferent and perfunctory, Food from the lunchtime menu was adequate.but with the dark decor did not lift the spirits.

We celebrated our daughters Christening along with our family here at The Old Crown and it was everything we could have hoped for. There was 60 plus of us and everything was spot on. My wife and I were away on a week's trip through England as I played 3 golf Tournaments. Everything was planned except or our evening meal on the Wednesday. We found the Old Crown via the Web and called to check they could accommodate us within about 20 minutes. There were excellent in their response. We had an outstanding meal, with excellent service and they dealt with my wife's Gluten Free requirements with ease. We had a table inside as it was a little cool by that time. Very pleasant decor and background music. We enjoyed the food and service so much that on the Friday we chose to go back to the Old Crown for our Lunch before returning home in the north. This time we had our meal on their terrace outside. Their two course set lunch was just like you would see on a trip to France " Prix Fixe". Well worth seeking out.

Pasquale and his whole team were incredibly attentive and helpful in planning my special 50th celebration meal. The night itself was amazing. All our guests said how much they enjoyed the food, the venue, atmosphere and staff. We really appreciated being able to have a designated space. Whilst this review is rather late, I am very thankful for Pasquale being so responsive to various needs and details to make it a fantastic and memorable night right up until our taxis arrived. Can't thank them enough for their gracious, warm and good humoured hosting and service.
