ICE Restaurant in St Edmundsbury

First of all, I want to say a huge thank you to ICE for offering such a great range of GF food and being so hot on allergy awareness; we LOVED how almost all your food had gluten free options and that the first question you asked was to do with allergies. We had the burger and katsu chicken burger, both were very good. The triple cooked chips were a bit soggy so we were a little let down by those. The big portions of chips were awesome though. Had the normal fries on another occasion and they were very nice The black cherry daiquiri was DELICIOUS and the passionate fruit martini was pretty good. Espresso martini and zombie both delicious. Milkshake delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was very fun, we liked that it was quite family friendly with pencils for kids and a nice outdoor area. We will definitely be back to try your other food and to take advantage of the 2 for £12 cocktail deal again! Edited to add we had the most amazing breakfast here. Pancake stack and GF full English both to die for. Coffee really nice. Homemade hash brown was amazing and the American style pancakes were too. We loved that your Suffolk sausages are GF. One of the best breakfasts we have had ever. Definitely a hidden gem in Rougham/greater Bury St Edmunds

This place has a really cool vibe, industrial meets rock and roll, went for dinner with a friend. The place was very clean and well maintained including the toilets, staff were very friendly and the service was great. We went on a Friday evening and got 2 of the house ICE burgers and fries for £25, pretty decent value for what you get. Burgers were really solid, tasty well cooked patty, lovely chilli jam and scrummy candied bacon pieces. The salt and pepper squid was great as well, light batter with a good crunch and the squid was well cooked. Would definitely recommend for a fun date or dinner with friends if you are in the area.

Been before but just recently things have got bad with service. Went in for lunch and ordered drinks, took almost another 30 minutes for someone to come over and order food. Then went in for an evening meal. 3 courses in total took 3 hours! My poor son was falling asleep at the table. It took over an hour to get the main course after starter. Not sure what's going on with the service there at the moment, but it's put me off returning

Went for a wedding reception. Excellent food and good friendly service. Will go again.

A friend introduced me to this fantastic place this morning! We went for breakfast and it was absolutely wonderful. It's rather hidden away so very much gives the feeling you've found a treasure chest when you get there! 5 stars to the owners and staff, I'm DEFINITELY returning! Nice and relaxed, fantastic decor and gorgeous food...and free parking too! I had the natural yoghurt with fruit, seeds and honey option and it was scrumptious. Staff were great and even the toilets are great with posh paper towel and nice handwash & handcream. Nice touch.

We had a fabulous meal. Thank you to all the lovely staff who made us feel so welcome.

Last minute Saturday night out for four of us. Great surroundings and food was superb. All fresh and great quality. Excellent drinks list and cocktails. Will be back!

I don't know why we haven't been sooner. Food is excellent, the decor and layout is really nice. Staff were very friendly as well.

I’m struggling to write a review about this place, and that is because I’m slowly going into a food coma. This is the second time I have been here and every time it has been outstanding, from the meet and greet at the start, to ordering the food and the check backs to the high quality of the food it’s self. It may cost slightly more that the local takeaway or big pub chain, but when you do compare it, for what you get and the experience you receive, it is value for money and once I stop feeling like I’ve have just finished eating on Christmas Day, I will be back again.

Menu is massive & he never disappointed. Lovely to sit outside undercover. Gets pretty busy at brunch time, so good to book for a larger group. Great vegetarian and vegan options.

We hosted a private party here for my husbands 50th birthday and what a fabulous afternoon it was. The staff were superb and attentive, the food delicious and we loved every minute. What we liked most was bringing people to experience a place we love coming to. Thanks to the entire team for making the afternoon so special. Zoe & Phil

Absolute gem! Food was amazing (impressed even the teenager and the pregnant lady!). Will definitely be coming back. Staff are super friendly and helpful, food is just divine. Zero complaints! We had the full English breakfast, scrambled eggs on sourdough with bacon, flat iron steak with egg - honestly some of the best food we’ve eaten. They somehow managed to get a well-done steak to cut through like butter, and just melt in the mouth (we know - well-done steak is sacrilegious, but pregnancy rules..) 10/10 No photos because we inhaled it all too fast 🙂

Had a private party here for a friend and the staff and food were both excellent. Five Star Recommended. Would add that there is no real viable signage to show you where the venue is on a small industrial estate, but you get there in the end.

We went as a brunch out as a treat, and we are so impressed! Went on a Thursday, staff were really kind and helpful. We had the full English,kids aswell, reuben, reuben,reuben and it was absolutelydelicious ! Deffo coming back, Lovely as a brunch!

We went in for a breakfast finally (3 years + talking about going) Coffee to start, breakfast ordered. Within 10 mins a nice looking fry up arrived. 5 cooked cherry toms on the vine, perfect poached eggs on sourdough toast, home made tasty hash brown, 2 fat sausages, black pudding and home smoked, smokey bacon. A fine and tasty meal that will set you up for the day. Thanks.

Excellent value food of very good quality staff were also very pleasant, helpful and friendly definitely returning. Don't be put off by the location as you arrive through industrial buildings.

Just need a bit more swift service especially for drinks please. Small critism seems to be the habit in many similar establishments, of drinks orders not being really catered for when you have a table booking & want more than one. Very nice evening and will be back.

Went for Breakfast as it was my husband's birthday- 1 had fried eggs on sourdough with 2 of their famous hashbrowns. The eggs were lovely but i was unhappy with the taste of the hashbrowns - they seemed to have a slightly 'fishy' taste which was not to my liking- the venue is nice and the staff great

Had a lovely brunch with a group of netballers this morning. A lovely choice of breakfast and other foods with a chilled atmosphere.

Hah a lovely meal. I had the pork belly whilst my fellow diners had burgers. All lovely food. Staff friendly and kept us informed of timings since my prok belly would take a little long. No biggy and we were enjoying the atmosphere a d a really nice milkshake. Will definetly go again as I saw quite a few things I'd want to try on the menu next time. Perfect location for us only a 10/15 min drive and being out of the way is better so we don't have to fight our way into BSE traffic.

Really interesting decor. But more importantly, the breakfasts were fantastic. Will be back to try the pancakes.

Great food. Easy atmosphere. Definitely go again

We visited at 1230 on 13th January 2024. We were a party of 4 (2 couples) and were super excited to go to ICE. We found it by looking for somewhere to meet for lunch on the internet, and it looked really cool. The nachos for starters were poor, awful cheese sauce on the plate, soggy nachos and only the pulled pork saved it. the main courses were sirloin, open steak sandwich and two chicken burgers. The steak on the steak sandwich was undercooked compared to what was asked for, the sirloin was cold and badly cooked. One of the chicken burgers was cold (and so it didn't even get eaten) and my husband's chicken in his burger was RAW! When we told the waitress, she argued that because thigh meat is used in the burgers it would be a different colour... And eventually reluctantly took it back... Returning with 'another' which was as cold as mine. This was topped off by a Eaton mess sundae which had 1 tiny piece of weird meringue ice cream and FROZEN raspberries. We were so disappointed because we were really excited to go, and to be fair it's a nice place. But the food and the service were so bad we will never go back! **Edited** We are even more disappointed with being called liars.

Lovely attentive staff, great atmosphere, quirky, great value for money. The menu is small, which is fine but far too many burgers that's my only complaint. Will definitely be back.

Dec 2023 Went for a works Christmas brunch / lunch. The food was good as usual. I had the full English breakfast and my only comment is that the bread served with it has very hard crusts. A little softer would be nice. The specials menu pancake burger, brisket and chicken dish looked great and was enjoyed by a few of the group. Original review Went for Sunday morning breakfast. A great full English and a great plant based full English available. Not the cheapest greasy spoon breakfast but this was much better quality.

A hidden treasure that once found will be revisited. A great, quirky location serving good food and delicious cocktails. A warm welcome and attentive service from their friendly team. Waited a while for our bill to arrive but gave up and paid as we left. No big deal. Hope to catch some of their live entertainment soon.

We have been twice over summer and loved it each time. Lovely atmosphere, fantastic food with great vegan options and the staff were fab. We were able to bring the dogs and sit outside which was lovely and really enjoyed the food and drinks. Nothing bad to say, we will definitely be back!

What a cool place! We found this the morning after a night out in Bury St Edmunds and wanted a breakfast somewhere that was dog friendly. Even on a Sunday morning the atmosphere was buzzing inside and the covered outside area was cool and relaxing. The breakfast was fantastic and made with quality ingredients and it's not shy on its portion size. The staff were great and friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. It felt strange heading to the middle of an industrial estate for a Sunday breakfast but it had a really good feeling there and we will definitely be going back when we are in the area again. Keep it up gang, you're on to a winner

First time at ICE today & it didn't disappoint! Food was great - arrive with an appetite as good large portions & very tasty, freshly cooked food. Food was presented as you would expect with burgers & fries, no frills & that was what I would expect, fuss free & no fancy "salad" on the side that no-one really eats! Good selection of food options too, meat, fish & vegetarian options without over complicating. Great drinks menu, literally everything on offer from water to coffee & lots of alcohol options too. Atmosphere was good, inviting & friendly especially from an industrial building with a modern twist. Great music playing, re-purposed furniture, love the look! Staff were friendly & efficient, didn't bother us several times if we were ok whilst eating which was GREAT! Toilet facilities very clean. Highly recommend & we will return!

I have eaten a lot of burgers and chips in my time but the food here is by far the best one I have been in to. With my (gourmet) tower burger, I had truffle chips which was doused in truffle oil and parmesan. For a truffle lover, this won't disappoint. We had calamari and bao buns for starter. We didn't have dessert because were absolutely stuffed. They did have some good ones on there though. The staff went above and beyond. They really made us feel welcome and were very attentive. The toilets were clean and tidy which was nice to see. The price of the food and drink, it was really good. You definitely get your money's worth which was a real treat. We will be back for damn sure! Thank you.

What an amazing experience! The lunch bar was absolutely worth it. Great atmosphere, great food and incredible service. So much so that we returned the next day for breakfast and that was just as amazing

Love this place. It's out of town on an industrial estate but nonetheless has created it's own chilled out but trendy vibe. They have a great selection of cocktails and the food I ordered was yummy. I had a Cesar salad with a poached egg, something called a godfather (think boozey milk shake) and some antipasti to start. I enjoyed all of it

Returned after being away for awhile, decided to go for an evening meal where previously my husband and I have enjoyed a breakfast at Ice. Clearly the dessert team had been given the night off and had also not bothered to prief their stand ins. The lemon Meriange needed work and adtleast some Meriange. The other dessert, well no comment. Front of house team are always friendly and efficient but desserts let you down. Sorry Guys..

Food was nice Asked to swap egg,tomato, black pudding for anything else. Got a sausage and charged£2.00 Someone else asked to swap something and we were charged£1.50 for 1 mushroom Won't be going back

Overrated.. Came here for the ratings and reviews but, definitely not coming back, wouldn’t recommend. ICE burger..decent, with a very overpowering bacon jam and a burger sauce that soaked the bun. First few bites were fine, because I was hungry. Nice parmesan and truffle fries. Horrible onion rings BURNED OIL taste.

Having been for breakfast before, we thought we would try for dinner, it was fantastic. The food was all things YUMMY. Really well presented, polite and friendly staff. We will be returning again very soon. Thank you for a great evening. 😊

Having not booked we had to sit outside on a chilly windy morning which was not ideal although there were blankets and a heater so the team was trying to make things a little more comfortable. Food was excellent - steak was tender and succulent cooked to perfection. Full English and Avo on toast was great too. Good flat whites too. Can highly recommend a visit just needs a little advanced planning to book.

A friend suggested a visit as local to us all but after our works christmas meal an absolute not. Sorry! Heard alot of good reports but experience fell far short of expectations.

We have eaten and recommended Ice many times and have always enjoyed ourselves. Unfortunately, our experience on Sunday was completely different. We waited ages to order drinks and food. I made a point of asking if the triple cooked chips would be crunchy they definitely wasn't the brisket burger was unrendered fat. My wife's fish and chips was greasy. We were offered a free pudding in compensation by the chef/manager but felt the whole experience had been ruined. Such a shame Following the reply from the owner. I thought the whole idea of triple cooked chips was that they were crunchy as per my question when ordering! It’s not everybody who likes to make a fuss even when asked by the serving staff. Never mind lots of good places to eat in and around Bury

Very impressed. Feels strange going down the end of a quiet industrial estate but they've done a brilliant job. One of the best burgers I've had in Suffolk, cool atmosphere and good decoration. Nice cocktails, good food and reasonably priced.

Great place to eat, food was fantastic, atmosphere and decor is really on point. Good selection of drinks. Slightly more expensive but worth it. Only criticism is they need more parking as its a busy place.

Really interesting food - we had the Buddha bowl, really interesting vege5arian with loads of different flavours. Tip:you don't need chips, excellent though they are.

Top food and brilliant service. The venue made me feel like I was in London, or in any other European capital. Being inside an industrial estate, I wasn't expecting the posh touches that I noticed, so it definitely exceeded my expectations. Food was cooked to perfection, and my lamb, despite not as pink inside as I would normally have prepared it, was melting in my mouth. All together, an experience I would not wait too long to repeat.

If I could, I would give 6 stars! Great service and very friendly staff. Booked lunch for 12pm with two small children and friends. As I went to change my daughter, staff quickly came over and showed me to baby changing - very clean and makes a change from a dingy disabled toilet which most places offer! Front of house staff are excellent. Food was fantastic. The burgers were very tasty and the portion sizes were generous. The hot chocolates went down well too and they were obliging by giving our 4 year old some marshmallows of her own. My wife looks forward returning next week for a work function!

Have given four stars as yesterday the music was so loud in the cafe that I could barely hear my friends conversation , sometimes it doesn't have to be deafening, ! Food good , I had pancakes and maple syrup , , good menu , but perhaps a proper Canadian pancakes and bacon with maple syrup should be a listed item rather than having to pay for extra bacon ? Just. Thought

Brought a dog so told had to sit outside as not dog-friendly. Think it was fully booked inside anyway. Really couldn’t understand why a place like this doesn’t allow dogs. Although the outside is covered it’s not enclosed so you get any breeze. There was 1 heater we sat right next to but didn’t make a difference. My wife brought a blanket from the car but shouldn’t have had to. There were other people outside who were clearly uncomfortable as well. We both had full English by the time I got to the end of my food it had gone stone cold!

Hadn't been here before until lunch yesterday. Fabulous place, food was delicious and great staff and prices very reasonable. Will definitely be back.

Plates always hot, coffee good, toast impossible to cut hence 4 stars so brittle and with a bad arm gave up. For me sometimes music too loud but lovely people

Really liked this spot, only had morning fry up but it was a banger! Posh sausies, decent blood pudding, bacon smoky and thick. Worth every penny and I didn't eat again until 5pm that evening. Service with a smile and a playlist to match! You pays for what you gets!👍

Beautiful place, amazing food and extremely nice staff. Best hot chocolate of our lifes!! The burger was top spectacular 😋 you definitely have to try it 🥰
